I cannot believe they still have that camera in place. I watched some of that last year. We have so many eagles around here, but of course, their nests are pretty high up. We only get to see the little ones when they begin peering over the edge of the nest. I remember last year that dead rabbit laying there, for dinner sometime in the future.

Thanks for posting this, Lil0. I watched it some last year too. I don't think I've ever seen an eagle in person. I think there may have been some around here but before my time.

LILO...have you been watching? Two eggs have been layed and they are hoping for another one soon.

Yes, it will be an interesting year. I'm not sure how long after mating an egg is produced, but they mated again after the second egg was laid. There might be quite a stretch of time between the hatching of the second and third eggs. Or will there be four eggs???????? It is really fun to keep checking in on them.

It did seem like it took forever for those eggs to hatch last year. But all of a sudden..bingo!

Oh, so sorry to hear. I notice someone else said they had that problem but "refreshed" and all was OK. I hope it comes back for you. Beautiful day there in Decorah today.

@ Jammers ~ I was going to suggest you go over to the Davenport EagleCam, but I just checked that site and am wondering if something is wrong there. No sign of the adults for the several minutes that I have had the site up. The 3 eggs appear to be abandoned??? Now there is a "paused" notice up. so, I'm not sure what's happening there. Hope all is well. And I hope you now have the picture at the Decorah site.

PS OK after several minutes . . . i.e. MANY minutes . . . one of the adults has returned to the Davenport nest. I guess all is well there.

I just now got a glimpse of the little one and the two eggs. I watched a few times last year and have checked in a few times this year but this is the first time I'd ever seen any activity whatsoever. I don't have the patience to watch for very long if the eagle is just sitting there looking around and not doing anything. Glad I caught it when she/he was changing positions.
