Now, instead of celebrating a hard-won victory over EJ, poor Dishonest Abe has been called down to the police station to answer questions about vote fraud. What a come-down, and all because his bumbling campaign manager is a rank amateur when it comes to dirty politics. Hopefully, the officials Mayor Carver has appointed to run the city are more competent than Jennifer -- if not, Salem could be headed for a total collapse.

By foolishing meeting the crooked election official at the Brady Pub, Jennifer has put Dishonest Abe in a tight spot. Regardless what the election official might say, if any of the beer-swilling burger-eaters who were at the Pub on election day recalls seeing the two of them together, at best the mayor's reputation could be seriously tarnished. Among the worst case scenarios are: 1) EJ being declared the winner; and/or 2) Jennifer being charged with conspiracy to commit election fraud; and/or 3) Mayor Carver wins the election, but is pressured to resign because of his campaign manager's misdeeds.

OH, I think it was Nicole's handywork. Jenn should have known better than to trust the initial results with a DiMera in the running!

Agreed, but the mere fact that his campaign manager seriously discussed committing election fraud won't do Mayor Carver's reputation any good.

The whole vote should be thrown out, and Justin Kiriakis should be named acting Mayor of Salem by the Governor (or the City Council, or whoever would do it in Salemland). That way he'll have something to do until a special election can be held (off screen, please!!).

An offscreen race between two of Salem's major office-holders, D.A. Woods and Police Commissioner Roman would be one option.

The tainted Salem election appears to be ending with a whimper. Ordinarily, election fraud would be a major story, but EJ and Nicole were free to cavort between the sheets because no pesky reporters were knocking on the door of the DiMansion. Similarly, Lexie's righteous diatribe directed at Dishonest Abe was uninterrupted by the appearance by any members of the news media. Apparently, the Salem press was every bit as bored with the endless campaign as Days viewers.

I haven't read anything new on Abe so I am curiose what will happen, I know Nichole did something to get EJ elected, she probaly bribed that guy who Abe turned down. This can't be over, EJ can't stay mayor.

I don't think Ian has the dirt on the egg switch but I think he just wormed his way in there.

I have faith in Abe and I don't think he did it. If anything Nicole was behind this so EJ would win.

As I said before, Nicole has a hell of a lot of nerve leaving Abe for what HE did when she did far worse things and he stood by her. I think infidelity is far worse than one upping EJ who started this whole thing stealing the debate questions. What was Abe to do?! Stand by and let that happen?!

Mayor-elect EJ reports that he was asked no questions at his press conference! Ordinarily, it might seem unusual that a newly-elected official is asked no questions, but here, it's just final proof that virtually nobody in Salem (or the viewers) cared about the wretched election campaign. In fact, if apathy regarding municipal affairs is as bad as it seems, no Salemites would notice if EJ spent his term engaging in erotic acrobatics with Nicole rather than tending to city business.

It's a good thing for mayor-elect EJ that nobody appears to care a whit about his plans for the city. Otherwise, he'd face embarrassing questions about the current condition of his face. Perhaps, since Stefano seems unwilling or unable to provide decent security at the DiMansion, EJ's first act as mayor should be to order that a police detail guard the place (yes, the Salem P.D. is incompetent, but perhaps they could handle this simple task). As recent events have demonstrated, unwanted, and occasionally violent, visitors have been a real problem.
