    Hi guys,

Of all the e-mails we receive on a daily basis, probably the #1 complaint we get from users is "I didn't want to read that!", meaning the member stumbled blindly into a thread which contained spoilers but wasn't marked as such.

It would be of GREAT help to us -- when you post something that hasn't happened yet, whether it's found online or in a magazine, or whereever -- if you could PLEASE remember to select the "SPOILER" Prefix from the drop down (to the left of where you fill in the topic title).

That way, people who get upset about such things are less likely to stumble upon articles they didn't want to read before it happened. Spoilers are like potato chips. You can't just read one (word) then click back. By the time you've read enough to get the thread, you've already spoiled your appetite for tomorrow's events.

    Thanks very much,

    Wayne

Thank you, Wayne. Most of the current spoiler threads have the content revealed in the title. If a "spoiler free" person sees that, they might as well read the whole thing. (I still wish spoilers had to go through an approval process the way it used to be for the Front Page forum but I know Barb and you have lives away from this board and it would be extra work for you.)

I agree that people tend to reveal the spoiler in the title, and I do try to change them when I see them. That is usually mostly what folks complain about. However, no one reports the error, so I just cannot get to them all as easily as I did in the past.

Unfortunately Kathy, the only way that would work is if Barb and I (and Sparkster) moderated every single post before it went live.

There's just no way to accomplish that 24/7, even if we had a dozen people on full-time staff. Luckily, we shouldn't HAVE TO if people would just remember to follow the simple rules as already posted. (See the Terms and Rules link at the bottom of the page). All I'm asking is that people be a little considerate of others when posting things that might contain spoilers.

It would only be for spoiler threads but I completely understand the time issue. Thankfully for me, at this time in my life I have the luxury of doing pretty much what I want when I want, but when I was in the work force, it got stressful at times. Thanks for all you and Barb do. :)

Thank you, Wayne. I also love your analogy to potato chips.
