Marlena to Carrie (2/7/12)

I never said I can stand Sami, in fact she is one of my very favorites, I love Sami, please don't put words in mouth that I have not said. Thank you, Tam

Not that a few years made a difference, but the storyline of Madison and Sami being best friends in first grade (when Sami and Eric lived with Grandma and Grandpa Evans) was a tweaked timeline. Sami and Eric were much older (fourth or fifth grade) when they were shipped off to Colorado.

The last scene I remember where we actually saw the twins was shortly after Roman and Marlena returned following the reveal that John wasn't really Roman with Roman, Marlena, Sami and Eric ice skating or snow ball fighting (?not sure) in the park, and Roman assuring Marlena that now that they were all together again everything would work out fine. I don't recall seeing or even hearing them mentioned again until it was revealed that they'd been sent away. And I'll add again that I don't understand how sending them to Colorado would be considered to be out of Stefano's reach, LOL.

Maybe Grandma and Grandpa Evans were secretly ninjas or deadly mercenaries!!

I think the twins being stolen happened when they were infants. I started watching for Marlena's return in 1991, which was after Our House had gone off the air, and was very faithful up until they put her back with Roman which is why I remember those last scenes with the twins, who were not infants but around 5 or 6 years old by then. Widipedia is notorious for false information since anyone can add information. Not long ago someone found an account saying Sami had previously been involved with Quinn.

Also the twins were gone for more than just a few months as I recall, Roman and Marlena were together until after Isabella died by which time Brady was a few months old and John and Marlena were slowly drawn together again with Sami showing up on the same night that they'd began to fully realize their feelings for one another.

Actually, Stefano succeeded in kidnapping the twins when they were infants. He had them in his care for awhile and would allow Marlena to visit them. Bo did eventually rescue them.

Samantha Gene Brady was born on October 19, 1984. She was named after Marlena's deceased sister, Samantha Evans, and Marlena's best friend, Eugene Bradford. A few months after her birth, she and her twin Eric were kidnapped by Stefano DiMera. He was exacting revenge on the Bradys for causing his own daughter Megan's death. He planned to raise Sami and Eric and turn them into DiMeras. Fortunately, Bo Brady prevented this. Sami and Eric grew up thinking that John Black was their father, Roman Brady. Their mother Marlena had died when they were still infants. In 1991, this changed when Marlena and the real Roman Brady resurfaced. Although apprehensive at first, Sami and Eric accepted their new father and welcomed their mother; however, they also liked their "uncle John". In 1992, when they were still no more than 9 years old, Sami and Eric were sent to their grandparents' home in Boulder, Colorado after their mother went missing.

And the fact that two men, Roman Brady and John Black, claimed to be his father couldn't have been too healthy for him. It's a good thing he was raised more by their nanny, Mabel Cummings, than by their parental figures. But in the end, he and Sami accepted Roman and Marlena as their parents. In 1992, Roman asked Mabel to take Sami and Eric to their grandparents' house in Colorado while they searched for Marlena (she had gone missing -- she was trapped in a pit.) What was to be a short visit turned into a 9-year stay (5 years in real time -- confused yet? Thank the writers, who aged the kids too much.)

I remember the pit story, Marlena was kidnapped by a jealous wife of one of her patients. Strains in her relationship with Roman were beginning to show up due to his underlying doubts regarding how she could believe that John was him, and they had a fight right before she disappeared. John wound up finding her but ended up being trapped with her which was the set up for them realizing that they still loved one another just before they thought they were going to die. As I recall the twins may have been spoken of as being away, but we hadn't actually seen them on screen for about a year.

Lol. Boy JasonDispeech, look what you started up! However, there is no blame assigned here for our fuzzy memories. The writers never do keep things straight so how the bees knees are we supposed to??

@Jnta - great point - I remember those years well, and I recall the young twins being mentioned a lot (it drove my mom crazy that they were always "taking a bath").

Well, the past history remains in tact. I prefer the writers leave it that way and not try to convince fans it was different.

The favouritism Marlena has for Carrie is glaring and if Sami started sniffing after Austin again boy wuld Marlena say how bad Sami is. Am not excusing her actions in the least I think the PTB had her do a vile disgusting thing of her own accord. I guess I am just not happy with how any of them are being written. Sami as the perpetual blame everyone else but me child, Carrie as the "can do no wrong princess", Rafe with a wandering eye and Austin as the duped dummy AGAIN. I have to give Marlena props for one thing though regarding Sami she sure has lots of restraint but of course Sami shoots off her mouth before thinking. I really hope there is a method to their madness but I doubt it.@ TamiBelle I completely feel the same way you do about Sami and I have such disdain for what the hacks have done to her character and just about everyone elses other than Jack and John who I still feel havent been tainted by the writers and their stories from a million years ago.

I don't think that Marlena has great restraint at all. I think she knows exactly how to tear Sami down with one sentence spoken with such disdain and disregard so there's no need to match Sami's wordiness when they argue. So she stands there while Sami pours out her feelings with a look that shows she feels Sami's feelings have no merit. Then when Sami finally takes a breath Marlena makes a short surgical strike.

I see what you are saying but I am talking about since finding out about notsodeadbaby sex she has camly tried talking to Sami and even let her vent before Sami storms off but in the past and even right when she returned I agree but I think Will hating on Sami has in a way put things in better perspective for Marlena with how things affected Sami. Thus Marlena trying to get Will to talk with her and hash things out. Is all I meant by restraint of not throwing what she did in her face yet. Even after Sami would fly off the handle and run off. Will see how the scenes next week play out between them but so far Marlena has not been nasty to Sami and let her vent her anger.
