SOD: John and Hope Leave Salem!; 2/28 Issue

On the eve of John and Hope’s flight to Alamainia, Rafe announces that none of his contacts can get Bo and Marlena into the country. John and Hope will have to travel alone to get their divorce. “If John and Hope don’t put an end to the marriage, there is a good chance that, at some point, Stefano will use it against them,” points out Drake Hogestyn. “So they make the decision to go alone.”

While John and Hope await their flight, John is clearly uneasy. “A couple of times John’s knee is tapping away and Hope has to stop it,” previews Hogestyn. “As time goes on, John is getting more uneasy.”

The tension mounts when the flight is delayed. “There is no reasonable explanation for why the flight is delayed,” explains Hogestyn. “The weather is clear. There are no equipment problems with the jet. It’s almost like things are happening to heighten their anxiety.”

Finally, the plane begins boarding. As Hope gets up, she accidentally trips and falls into John’s arms, unaware that someone is watching them. “They’re looking into each other’s eyes,” shares Hogestyn. “It’s almsot like, ‘Whoa, here we go.’ What a way to start a trip!”

They have got to be kidding me.

so being on a plane with your legal spouse gets you hot and bothered now? there should be no tension. these two are friends, they are going to another country to get some papers changed.

and what exactly do they think stefano can do with this information? force them to cheat on their true loves? not new in this quad. expose them? no one cared that bo was proudly walking around with his mistress so this shouldnt be a big deal

Goodness this is one of the worst storylines ever. So John and Hope can be around each other in Salem and be fine but put them at an airport to go end a marriage neither one of them wanted or remembered and they can't help themselves? Really this is just stupid.

Sorry Poirot, I edited my post. That said, plane or airport probably doesn't matter. The writers never have someone trip and fall into someone's arms without it being a foreshadowing of things to come.

I hope you are right and that it will be all innocent and made to look like something else. Really I do because otherwise I'll just be disgusted.

When Hope isn't around nobody has to throw themselves at Bo. He immediately gets to sniffing around all on his own.

This John and Hope stuff is stupid.

Let me guess... the plane won't take off so John and Hope get so devastated about it, they have sex!

all kidding aside, this story is dumb... and boring...and ridiculous.

Actually, during the flight, Hope turns to John and says "can I have some of your peanuts" and he mis-hears her.... and well...... drops his drawers, while one of Stefano's goons snaps a cell phone picture of Hope and John together, with his family jewels shining for all to see; sends the picture to Bo and Marlena, who are devastated and then have "grief sex" over what they "think" are their spouses getting ready to have sex.

And just what about this story is dramatic. It's a stupid idea written with only the skill of a 7th grader.

That could happen! True story: small boy -- about 2 years old -- visiting his Grandma. She had given him a snack [peanuts] a short time ago, but he came to her asking for something to eat. She said "Where's your peanuts?" He gave her a very confused look and then grabbed his crotch. I guess it is a word that requires clear enunciation.

@Barb, I'm so glad I'd stopped watching by the time that stuff aired and looks like I'll also be missing the retreaded version as well.

Poirot no. I had erased that awful story from my memory.

I thought that this might be faked by Stefano from the beginning. He always wanted Marlena for himself. That may have changed now that he has Kate but judging from her reaction yesterday to Ian, I wouldn't be surprised if Kate does the dirty with Ian.

Maybe their backup chips are being activated... *laughs
