SOD: Sami learns Lucas is engaged; March 13th issue

An emotional Sami discovers that Lucas is engaged and is upset. "As is Sami's fashion, she has been busy talking about herself for the last couple of days and didn't notice," notes Bryan Dattilo.

At first, Sami lashes out at Lucas because she believes that he has been leading her on. Dattilo previews, "Lucas tells Sami, 'You didn't ask me! We've been talking about you the whole time.' Lucas is there for Sami in a genuine way, but he's also been physical with Sami in the sense that he's been hugging her, so I think that's why Sami feels that he was leading her on."

Sami covers her uneasiness about Lucas's engagement and encourages him to tell her everything. "Lucas has a fiancée from Hong Kong," notes Dattilo. "He met her there. It's been going on for a few years. Her name is Autumn."

Later, Lucas accompanies Sami to the Brady Pub, where they're spotted by Kate. The sight of Lucas and Sami together instantly ruffles Kate's feathers. The first moment that Kate has alone with Lucas, she warns him to be wary of Sami. "Kate doesn't want to see Lucas involved with Sami again," explains Lauren Koslow. "That's always of the utmost concern with Kate. Sami and Lucas really seem to be getting along, so she's on alert."

Lucas is baffled by Kate's warning, particularly since Sami is working for his mom. "I don't know if Kate and Sami will ever accept each other totally," voices Dattilo, "because so much has happened [between] them. But Lucas does say to his mom, 'Sami works for you. Why would you have a problem with her?' Kate comes back with, 'Sami does good things but she's just bad for YOU.' She thinks it would be the worst scenario possible if Lucas got involved with Sami again."

When Sami rejoins them, Kate tries to hide her disdain for Sami by changing the subject to Lucas's thriving love life. "Kate is absolutely thrilled that Lucas has a fiancée," smiles Koslow.

Is this why Kate is sending Sami out of town? Or is there some other sub-plot afoot (pertaining to Sami's upcoming absence)?

leading her on?? He just got there and last I knew, you were still married Sami AND that you "loved" Rafe and never ment to cheat.

This story on paper is already ruffling my feathers and it hasn't aired yet.....we'll see.

I just want Sami and Rafe back..Also one more thing WHY is he in Salem if he's supposedly engaged to this other lady?

Seriously. This story seems to be moving with the speed of a locomotive. Just one more relationship not explored the way it should. If they want to go with a Sami and Lucas pairing, take it slow and let it re-develop. Don't just throw them together hastily. Goodness Rafe just moved out and they have Sami panting after Lucas again.

I was hoping for Sami and Rafe and I've never seen Sami and Lucas together but weren't they divorced?

Hahahaha. Typical Sami, hops after the first man who shows up after her latest breakup. Look out, Lucas. Don't forget all the crap she put you through!!

Well, I dunno....it sounds like Sami is just being irrational, and acting like a few hugs a physical relationship make. The article is a little strange in that regard - leading her on with what? And how funny/frustrating that Kate reverts to her momma bear mode when Lucas is merely within feet of Sami! The more things change, the more they stay the same.

All I know is that I have been hoping for these two to be on my screen again - in any capacity, but I think I have made my hopes about the future abundantly clear - and I am eagerly ready to soak up whatever I am offered. So beyond ecstatic about it all!! =)

lol at didnt notice. unless he is wearing an engagement ring its not really somthing you "notice" with a man. is lucas ashamed of this woman? according to kate and the last shot of samis phone, sami and lucas talk so why hasnt he told her?

lucas sure did come to salem pretty fast for a "happily engaged" man

really hope he doesnt let kate run his life. she had a hand in some of his relationship misery

i wonder what they are doing that would seem to suggest they might have a relationship?

Okay, so Lucas is sitting in his "mancave" last night, with nothing on TV worth watching...and the phone rings! "Wow, it's Sami!! ", he says, happily looking at the Digital ID screen..."wonder how she's doing...been some time since I heard from her. Guess she and Rafe are happy now and the kids are happy too!"... "Hello????????....................................................... "

Next thing you know, the private jet is warming up in his back yard.

I'm guessing (and hoping) it's for Will's sake. He does not need to be Sami's boy toy again. Hopefully he has matured past her.

On the plus side, maybe we'll finally see Allie!

i dont think its just a hug. from pictures they are both in the same clothes they had on wednesday so he had to leave as soon as she called, then he tells he came back for her and that he loves her. then whatever else they talk about and do from friday to the wk of the 13th.
but then she could just be angry that he didnt tell her he was engaged and isnt jealous at all. she may not even say anything about being led on. SOD exaggerates sometimes

The thing is, why should she care "IF" she loves Rafe as much as she proclaims?!?!

For Sami it is has always been... any port in the storm! If someone just utters the word "love" to Sami she jumps at the chance! But I won't get too excited since most of the articles are worded to look like one thing, but mean another!

I wish I could recover from a break up as fast as Sami.

OK we all know that we will never see her (Lucas' gal) and he will break up with her very shortly.. Or she will dump him... so it is nice to "hear" he tried to move on from the Sami train wreck... but but he will not get far...

he probably made the fiance up so he didnt seem like he was desperate to get a woman stuck on another man and to get his mother off his back. then when he sees that rafe isnt coming back anytime soon he "breaks up" with her. well played lucas, well played
