SOW: Abigail Threatens Austin & Carrie's Marriage; 2/28/12 issue

Carrie and Austin resolve to heal their marriage and make plans for a romantic getaway weekend. "Austin wants to get Carrie out of town so that Abigail can cool off a little bit," shares Patrick muldoon.

Austin meets with Abigail at his office and apologizes for huring her, stressing that he's in love with his wife. "Abigail is really disappointed," notes Kate Mansi. "The fact that he is apologizing for hurting her makes Abigail push all the harder to hold onto him."

A crafty Abby suggests that he come clean with Carrie about sleeping with her and offers to be there when he does. "Abigail is desperately trying to hold onto something so that she and Austin can still have some intimacy together," explains Mansi.

The tension mounts when Carrie pays Austin a surprise visit. "Austin gets very nervous that Abigail is going to reveal what he thinks is the truth," Mansi discloses. "This is a really defining moment for Abigail, because the innocence here is really lost. I don't want to say that she's blackmailing Austin, but Abigail is aware that if Carrie finds out they were together, it would crush Austin." Austin hurries Carrie out of the office.

At the Horton Square, Abigial spies Austin and Carrie enjoying lunch. She runs into Quinn and flirts with him, thinking that it will make Austin jealous. "Abigail is essentially family to Austin, " voices Muldoon. "He has developed a close friendship with her, so he doesn't want to see Abigail hurt."

In a private moment, Austin warns Abigail to steer clear of Quinn, particulary because of his shady background. Abigail responds that, as long as Austin remains married to Carrie, she'll do what she pleases.

Muldoon sighs, "It's an absolute nightmare for Austin."

a sheesh...another dejavoodoo.....can we all say "Shades of Stephanie"? ...just another wack-a-doo young girl.

Can someone check the "hospital" that Carly was at?? Maybe they take in emotionally insane young girls who start to believe their entire story even though it's all a lie. Poor Abby, she has really become positive that this happened...rather than to know it's hopeless...could take years of medication, electo-shock, and psychiatry before she's able to get out of her new, lovely, white jacket with the arms crossed in the back! SIGH.

Back to topic, I agree with everyone. I'm soooooo tired of the formerly well balanced women/girls going off the deep end all for a guy. Abbigail needs a restraining order. It's a good thing Austin and Carrie don't have a rabbit. Otherwise, could you smell the stew ?

This whole story make me ill and just doesn't belong with these two. JUST DOESN'T FIT........

One would think that Austin, having been down this road before, would tell Abby to take a hike and leave him alone. He is only feeding into her fantasy by being concered about her, etc. I guess he feels he has to walk a fine line and keep her on some sort of leash so she doesn't spill the beans. His only hope was moving back to Switerland idea because Abby has clearly lost touch with reality and she is a ticking time bomb. Although in true Days fashion Carrie will most likely find out about things by 'overhearing' a private conversation spoken loudly in a very public place!!

IMO Austin has always had a soft spot towards any young girl willing to put him on a pedestal i.e. Sami no matter how many times her schemes against him were revealed he was always drawn back into her web for yet another run. This debacle with Abby only confirms that aspect of his personality for me. He needs to be the center of her romantic focus, just as he was with Sami for all those years.

Dear Abby, You're trying the oldest trick in the world. Look around and see how it did NOT work for other women. Chaining a man means the chain is tied to you too!
