With just one straight guy in the younger crowd they don't need to turn any more of the cast. There needs to me more straight guys in the younger set. Watching Will with the gay guys is boring. I wish they wouldn't have made Tad into such a turd. I'm getting tired of Melanie denying her feelings for Chad, Gabby blathering on about how hot he is and asking Melanie what she thinks, and I think it's unbelievable that Gabby and Abby haven't talked about Abby and Chad's break up.

LOL maybe that's why EJ is so angry he is really a gay man who needs to come out in the open about it but can't due to his father.

The way he gets around a "bed", he'd have to be more than just simply gay!

I have had my doubts about Stefano myself every now and then too. can you imagine EJ a gay man, lets face it he is every gay mans dream and we women like his looks too, but I think it would be a hoot.

The show has an agenda: pro-gay. Why else would they have so many males gay? It would be more touching and moving to watch Will walk this path alone except for Sonny's friendship. If its natural then portray it natural!

Sonny is gay, and has some friends who are gay. That is very normal. He also has friends who are straight. That is very normal, too. Will has friends who are male, female, straight, gay. That is normal.
I think what they are trying to show is that others recognize, without Will saying a word, or acting any differently, that he is gay, and are unaware that Will himself is either unaware, or hesitant to admit it to himself.Or even that Will is just a nice guy, who broke up with his girlfriend, has some huge problem he doesn't want to discuss with anyone.
I do not see any sort of agenda. I see a story slowly unfolding about the journey of a young man.

The agenda has been and is a pro-gay story. If it weren't they wouldn't have written Sonny's entrance the way they did with outlandish scenes with Tad and writing the PSA scenes using the term homophobe over and over. Although Tad was a twit it's like they were making a point of calling anyone who might disagree with the lifestyle a homophobe and intolerant.

O.K. that is your opinion. I happen to disagree with using the word "agenda". As noted by other posters, there ARE events in real life that happen to people. Some years ago, Days did a story on the name calling and bullying that goes on in high school to those who are different...maybe overweight, shy, extremely bright, klutzy, etc. And those doing the name calling in that story were those really nice teens everyone liked....Philip, Belle, Shawn et al.
This story is similar in some ways. It is a storyline, and when it is over, there will be changes in attitudes, etc.
People can disagree with a lifestyle...but that doesn't mean they have to name call, or berate other friends who are not of the same mindset. Tad could have just made excuses to leave a place, or meet up with a friend later. Tad's behavior was truly totally wrong. You don't walk into a restaurant, see your friends sitting with THEIR friend, and walk up and cause a scene. In Tad's case, he should have been upset and angry at the person who commented on the website.
    Just MY opinion.

I really don't think this EJ gay thing is going to happen, like at all.

As for the scenes with Will and other gay gentlemen being boring, I totally disagree. I think that Will being around guys who are open and secure with their homosexuality, and being not quite sure how to react to it....I think that is just right. I like seeing him struggle with how to feel about things - I like seeing struggle, and growth, and denial, and insecurity, and anger, and fear...and any other conflicting or contrary emotion you could think of. So this is all very interesting to me.

I don't see an agenda at all. What so many characters are gay? Sonny...and some of his friends? I don't think that is so many at all. And who's being turned? I agree that Chad should not be the only young, single straight male for the ladies to pine over. So yes, mix it up a bit, please. But one, two or three gay characters does not so many make. As for Tad being portrayed as a caricatured homophobe....maybe. I honestly didn't quite pay attention to him because he never interested me. Perhaps the writers were trying a bit too hard to show intolerance to homosexuality, and created a character that was not nuanced, and was way too much that one way. But I don't think the story since then has been caricatured. Sonny is Will's friend, and as a friend, he can decide whether or not he thinks he knows something Will is trying to hide, and offer help in his own way. But his help could prove to be an obstacle to Will, and something he comes to resent. Who knows??

Will IS pretty much walking this road alone, because he is trying to figure so much out right now, and there are many influences, good and bad, trying to guide him. Other than Marlena, I don't think he has a confidante. It's up to Will to decide whom he wants to listen to or model himself against. It's up to Will and Will alone to decide what choices he should make, to select the exact complexion of his path into adulthood. THAT is any growing-up story for any young person. What agenda? This is about Will at a precipice, trying to do the right thing. Gay or not, that is a compelling story I am enjoying see unfold.

My problem with Tad's reactions were that they were totally out of character. Up until that story line he'd been the most tolerant of all the teens. He'd been the one most likely to step up and help or speak out when the others got of line. Case in point when Lucas got drunk and embarrassed Will, Tad was the one that showed maturity and compassion. If they wanted to paint him as intolerant towards Gays, they should have delved into the reasons behind that type of over the top intolerance because as has been pointed out, he could have just walked away from the situations instead of turning into a complete all around jerk out of the blue. IMO because he was a recurring character, his was the most dispensable when it came to ruining him. The difference with the teen bullying from years ago is that those weren't dispensable characters and therefore the writing had to go a lot deeper in actually addressing their actions and reasons behind them.
