I don't necessarily feel Valerie should get a pass because what she had done was highly unethical for her position at the hospital and illegal. I thought Valerie would have been a bit more subtle and lead to the build up confrontation with Lani. However, point blank the following day Valerie rushes to go find Lani, making demands in the process.
But I can't blame Valerie either, as Lani is still carrying Valerie's grandchild to have another man, JJ, raise the child as his own. I think there will be a lot of tension in Carver family, but, I also see a happy ending with Valerie and Abe sharing a grandchild together, perhaps Lani and Eli get together.
Now on the flip side, I only see JJ becoming in a worse state of mind than he was in before he attempted to commit suicide. Likely he will have some sort of breakdown becoming devastated that his beloved unborn child isn't his. Though Gabi can also come back to JJ's rescue as well.
