It really doesn't matter why Will is mad at his mother it is not ok for him to take his sister anywhere without Sami or Rafe's permission. And it is unacceptable that he would use Sydney and involve her in his revenge plans putting her at risk. Will should know that this could hurt Sydney emotionally. I don't care what Sami has done in the past two wrongs don't make a right. On another note... Why is Syndey all of a sudden attached to EJ?

I do think he hit a low blow that day, but Sydney could be attached to him because she lived with him for the first 1/2 of her life and now doesn't see him at all, hardly. She's a kid, she doesn't know he is a crook. He is daddy.

As wrong as Will was, I did enjoy Sami's little hissy fit and being made to invite EJ and Nicole to the pub. That move was exactly what Sami would have done. She always used her kids as pawns to get what she wanted. Will's just using the lessons he was taught by mommy dearest!

Ugh so what guys, Syndey wanted to see her Dad on her birthday. Sammi should have invited EJ to her birthday party- I mean why punish Sydney?

I agree Sydney only knows he's daddy and it's not unreasonable to see an emotional attachment no matter their current custody situation. And up until very recently (finding out that Will was working for EJ), Sami had been cordial enough to EJ when they bumped into each other to allow the kids to hug/talk to him. They might not have been seeing him on a visitation schedule, but she was allowing contact of some sort to happen, even when it she could have walked away from the situation and had the kids not have contact. Wasn't there also something about EJ having gifts for them and Sami allowing him to give them those gifts?

That's not to excuse Will of any wrongdoing or culpability because yes he was wrong to do that without Sami's permission and Sami would have every right to be upset about that. That's just to say that this is very minimal in terms of emotional scarring on Sydney as she has had some contact with EJ since he gave up custody and Sami has allowed that. Is it more emotionally scarring to spend a part of her birthday with her father or be kidnapped by Anna? Or to be bounced around from Marlena's townhouse to the mansion, to the loft, back to the mansion and back to the loft in Sami's neverending drama and custody battles with EJ? If any of them handled this party situation properly, Sydney wouldn't even know that the adults were upset with one another or that Will did something he shouldn't have. But when do any of them handle things properly?!

I'm not comfortable with the fact that Will is wrong by bringing Sydney to EJ's for her birthday... First of all, EJ is still calling the shots and told Will he WILL bring her there... Secondly, perhaps he didn't bring Johnny and Allie on purpose, as that would be a point that could use against EJ. He's starting to feel his oats. I see in him a young man who is beginning to feel that he could be in the "drivers' seat" with this entire situation. That he's now having a wonderful time thinking how he's going to give him mother "her due"--to get even--to fix her for everything...and, while all this is "stewing inside his head" he's almost playing EJ (and maybe Nicole) by being at their beck and call until HE decides that it's time to drop a "bomb" on him before the election. He may still be a niaive young man, but no one ever said he was stupid!

Yes EJ is calling the shots and Will does answer to him because he is being blackmailed, but it is also obvious that Will is enjoying it at the same time. It's almost easy to forget that Will is being blackmailed when I see scenes of him and EJ talking. They almost seem like they are co-conspirators rather than blackmailer/blackmailee. EJ had the idea, has the power to force Will to comply, but Will didn't need much force applied to agree to do it because he saw an opportunity to make the situation for to his advantage. He knows it's wrong and he's doing it anyway and he's enjoying the thrill of doing it and the fallout from it as well. And Will is far from stupid. He's young and learning, but he's not stupid.

I agree with you 100%. Will is NOT Sydney's father or stepfather and has no right to do what he did. He knows what a scumbucket EJ is. This was not something to cheer about. Some of you may not like Sami (I certainly don't anymore) but even so Sydney is an innocent CHILD and should not be used by Will to get back at Sami.

The point was to tick Sami off, he isn't thinking of doing the right thing, was it wrong "yes" and he knew it! He is just waiting for Sami to lay into him so he can jump all over her for what she's done. He's 18, with a new car, money in the bank and feeling really smug about all of it right now... but he is going to blow at some point and I'm afraid he will be the one that get's hurt.

Keeping Sydney's kidnappers away from her is not a punishment. EJ has given up his parental rights. If Rafe's head wasn't completely up Carrie's butt he could adopt Sydney.

Sami should be grateful that EJ gave her custody of those kids... EJ/Nicole are not looking to kidnap Sidney. They just want to see her on her birthday. Also, if we are going to continuously refer to EJ/Nicole as kidnappers, then lets not forget that SAMI kidnaped her own sister and try to sell her on the black market. If we are going by her past actions, she isn't anymore fit to look after her children.

Sami kidnapping Belle isn't relevant because 1)Belle is a grown woman now while Johnny and Sydney are still kids and 2) Sami isn't trying to maintain a parenting relationship with Belle. EJ is with Johnny and Sydney, and Nicole is still married to EJ so if they're around EJ, they will be around Nicole. It's not about a random laundry-list of bad deeds.

EJ kidnapped Sydney. So did Nicole. EJ has had various plots and schemes to take both children away from Sami. Sami has never kidnapped either child. And before it's thrown out there, Sami being pregnant and not telling the father is not kidnapping. I've yet to see any woman charged with kidnapping in an instance like that, and even though Salem's laws are fuzzy, I don't see it happening in Salem either.

Well in a way, I think it should be considered kidnaping in utero!
My point in mentioning the Belle kidnapping is to prove that Sami has the propensity to resort to crime to get what she wants. She is no better than Nicole. Just because she's given birth doesn't mean we should see her as a saint.

Sami absolutely did kidnap Sydney and ditched her at a convent to hide her presence. She is no better a parent than EJ and Nicole. Sydney should not be punished for her parents' mistakes. EJ is being civil and neutral for her sake while Sami just flies off the handle as usual. I enjoyed Will sticking it to his mom like that.

Oh Sami is no saint that's for sure. And I sure wasn't claiming she was. I was saying her kidnapping of Belle is not relevant to EJ instructing Will to bring Sydney to the mansion or whether or not Sami should be upset by it. Just because I stole a candy bar once as a child doesn't mean I should be blase about my daughter doing that now...or her helping a friend and/or bully to steal, to equate it slightly closer to Will helping EJ hijack time with Sydney.

Sami is Will and Sydney's mother. Yes, she should have the ultimate say-so on where her child is and is not allowed to be. Yes, she should be upset when someone, in this case her son, goes against those wishes. Her past has nothing to do with that; the only bad deeds I've mentioned on EJ's part are those directly involving Sydney and the kids. Her past has nothing to do with the fact Will knows she wouldn't approve and he did it to spite her.

And EJ "just" wanted to see Sydney on her birthday. Oh, we know he doesn't "just" want that. This mayoral bid is part of a bigger plan involving gaining custody of the kids again. He has said those are his plans many times; he just has not revealed specifics so we don't know how underhanded he will get in order to make that happen.

I don't think you're understanding my point here.

Either way Sami should just buy this time with her children.. because EJ will take back custody.

We all know Sami is no saint. But again two wrongs don't make a right. Will had no business taking Sydney without Sami's permission regardless of what Sami did in the past.

I'm going to assume this is your point. What does this have to do with Will taking Sydney to EJ without Sami's permission? Nothing. Will did something he knew Sami wouldn't approve of. She has custody of the kids, and did not want them around EJ for whatever reasons--EJ and Nicole are kidnappers, EJ cloned her husband, Nicole once broke her brother's heart, the mansion is creepy, those stairs are dangerous, etc--who cares. Point is...Will knew Sami wouldn't approve. He did it anyway. It doesn't matter who is worse--Nicole, EJ, or Sami. Will's actions were the topic of this thread, not Sami's, not Nicole's, and not most of EJ's (the only truly relevant one is him telling Will to bring Sydney to the mansion as it ties in directly to Will's reasons for doing so). And no where did I ever imply Sami is a saint. Saying she has a right to be upset about one thing does not absolve her other faults.

Does this also apply to Sami's corporate espionage to take down Kate? Many people are enjoying that too.
