Filler show today..........lots of Wendy & Tripp as she talks of missing her family, how they used to celebrate Christmas, and missing her brother. Konstantin convinces Maggie to let him escort her to something or other, then he calls Theresa, threatening her unless she continues to do whatever it is he demands (she had said "no more").

If I left out anything important, fill in.

Maggie is too nice. Instead of inviting cheap grifter Konstantin to desecrate the sacred Horton tree-trimming party with his odious presence, she should be calling Rafe to see if the cheesy Greek fraudster can be arrested for vagrancy.

Another person who should wise up is Gwennie T. She ought to take Andrew’s advice about going straight and rat out the slimy Konstantin to Rafe. This just might get him locked up on charges more serious than vagrancy. Then, he could whip up gyros and spinach pie for the hungry inmates.

Finally, if Xander will be attending the Horton party, an X-Man tree ornament is an absolute must. If bigmouth Sarah and Baby Victoria have ornaments, a Xander ornament should be on the tree too!

42 minutes Christmas Eve

Tripp comes home. He and Wendy discuss having their first Christmas Eve together. He found some decorations. Wendy talks about the Chinese tradition of giving peace apples and Santa has a sax. Li tried to play sax, but her dad made him quit. He did play the flute. Tripp says he didn't have any good Christmas memories. He has apples delivered. Wendy gets a call from her mom. Her mom says her dad is not well and wants Wendy to move home.

Alex and Xander bump into each other outside of pub. Xander mentions that he sees Bella magazines are all over town not being sold. Xander mentions Theresa is not the best person for the job. They agree to put business aside during Christmas dinner at Maggie's.

Konstantin tries to call Theresa, but she hits ignore.

Andrew walks up to Theresa. He knows she was the one who kidnapped Victoria. She admits she did it. She tells him the truth about Konstantin and helping him. Konstantin wanted Maggie to like him. Andrew says hero complex. He will lie to Steve, John and their dad about the photos. She has to promise not to do more scheming and stay away from Konstantin. He has to leave since the ISA jet is waiting for him.

Maggie is in Horton Town Square when Sarah comes by. Maggie misses Victor. They talk a while when Konstantin comes out of Salem Inn and listens behind tree. Sarah mentions how Konstantin made Maggie feel happy. Maggie says he left town. Sarah has to leave to meet Xander. They will meet later at Doug and Julie's.

Maggie walks up to Alex in the square and wants to talk to about Titan. She makes a big deal about Bella and how it lost money for the first issue. Then talks about Theresa (Konstantin still listening). Alex gets upset and says he and Theresa won't be there for Christmas dinner.

At the cop shop, Jada is upset about not getting the person who kidnapped Victoria. Rafe says it's fine since the baby is ok. They go into the interrogation room to discuss about living together. Jada wants to, but after talking to Stephanie and Eric, she doesn't want to now. She mentions her ex, Bobby (interesting Everett has another name or is it a twin?). For now they will continue having sleepovers. Rafe gives her key to his house so she can come and go.

Xander and Sarah are at the pub discussing Victoria's first Christmas Eve and Christmas. Sarah has a good idea that Xander can go to the Horton tree trimming. Xander is pleased.

Maggie is upset when Konstantin shows his face. She happy to see him. After he tells her another Victor story, she invites him to Doug and Julie's for Christmas Eve.

Theresa and Alex talk about Christmas. She wants to tell him something, but whatever it is, she doesn't. She says Christmas crept up and they have nothing for Christmas dinner. He tells her they aren't going to Maggie's. Later, Konstantin calls her. She thinks he's out of town. He tells her never ignore him again. She tells him she can't help him anymore, but he won't take no for answer. He will make her life difficult if she doesn't cooperate. She tells him she can't help him and to leave her alone. He says you can and you will.

Once upon a time, the Horton Ornaments meant something very special, not only to the Hortons and their tree, but to viewers as well. Sadly, that is no longer the case, as it seems anyone and everyone gets one.

I remember once, I think it was Jack, but maybe not....who ended up putting his on the tree in the square, since his wasn't welcomed for the Horton living room.

Xander got his Horton ornament last year. It went on the tree with Sarah and Mackenzie's ornaments.

The only times I remember any of the ornaments ever leaving the house were when Tom was in the hospital and they decorated the tree in his hospital room (1993). In Aremid (1995). The one time at Bo and Hope's house (2009). When Maggie took Daniel's, Melanie's and Parker's ornaments from the Horton house and allowed Daniel to hang them on the tree in his apartment (2013). And when Claire took Ben's ornament to him in 2020, asking him to come to the Horton house to hang it.

Back when Horton Town Square was first opened, they had characters buying ornaments with their names to be put on the big tree in the square. They were made as a fund-raiser for the hospital. We got to see ornaments for Alice, Austin, Carrie, Anna, Sonny, Will, Brady, Madison, John, Marlena, among others.

Even back to the 70's Alice had ornaments made for those who weren't blood Hortons, so non-Hortons having ornaments isn't anything new. But all of the people who have gotten ornaments were connected to the family in some manner, though.

I found a clip in 1991 where Jack and Jennifer were fighting. He tried to hang his ornament next to hers on the tree and Jennifer stomped over and moved her ornament to the other side of the tree.

Found a post of mine from 2018 where I ranted about the lack of Horton family doing ornaments.....and someone posted something about poor Jack last year, and the hope he gets to hang it now

I just watched the 2017 clip and Jack isn't there because he was dead, but his ornament is on the tree. He returned at the end of December 2018 when Eve brought him to the New Year's Eve party, alive and well.

Jack still wasn't in his right mind by Christmas of 2018 so he wasn't at the Horton house, but his ornament is on the tree next to Jennifer's.

I found a site that has every ornament hanging from 1984 to the present and watched each one. The only 5 times ornaments were removed from the Horton house were the 5 times I mentioned above (in Tom's hospital room; Aremid; at Bo and Hope's house; when Maggie gave the 3 Jonas ornaments to Daniel to hang in his apartment; and when Claire took Ben's ornament to him at his apartment, asking him to come to the Horton house to hang it that night).

None of the ornament hanging ceremonies from 1984 to the present had anybody taking their ornament and hanging it somewhere else, though. Even when Jack and Jennifer weren't together, Alice always welcomed him to the house to hang his ornament because she said as Abigail's father, he was always family.

Thanks for this summary. A filler show, indeed. Lucky us! More scenes involving Konstantin, Theresa, and Alex. When can we have a hiatus from them and this dreadful plot? I'd rather watch Paulina or Kate meddle in someone else's business than anymore of this.
