I think in March.... he left the show in early Sept. was quickly replaced by a temp, but the following month it was announced he was gone permanently and the temp, Brandon Barash, would be permanent in the role of Stefan.

It definitely is ODD that there have been no photos from backstage, not a peep from any interview, etc.. We really do not know if the Brandon B. is still working. Yes, they could have decided to write the character out, or else, thouight it was working well, so why not just continue on with the the new guy in the role. ???
Since currently, the suits & writing staff have no problem changing the characters, either redeeming or making them really bad...opposites of who they had been.......one never knows!!

that is why I asked.... you'd think we'd have heard something.... but then again I can't stand the character..... feel bad for the actor..... such a terrible unbelievable role.....

Brandon Brash (Stefan) was seen on set fairly recently I'd say within the last 6 weeks or so. Maybe he likes having a stable paycheck. He does have a 5 year old daughter.
