I realize we have to suspend disbelief somewhat, but how can they possibly explain how Lucas called Sami (who was supposed to be in California) to tell her Will was murdered, and 20 minutes later when they're at the police station, in she walks!! Apparently she flies like Superman, because even the private jet wouldn't have her there in that amount of time.

Sami said she was already on her way because of ? said something like "Today of all days" I missed what she was referring to.

Sami was already on her way back to Salem , it was 1 year ago this week that EJ died and she was already coming back for that reason. She probably had already landed in Chicago when Lucas phoned her. (Salem is supposedly very close to Chicago. )

Apparently she must have already been on her way to Salem to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of EJ's death...which now happens to be when Will died also. I don't think I heard her say anything about Chicago onscreen but supposedly that's where she was when she got the call from Lucas so that's why she was able to get there so quickly.

I did hear someone on the show mention that she was already in Chicago when she got the call about Will. And yes, it was because it was a year ago that EJ was killed.

Seem to remember her only saying to Rafe that she had been coming because of the date, a year ago. That was when she & Rafe began talking of the kids, the letters, the therapist they have been seeing for the past year. Marlena then offered to come out and help for a while, just as family.

She did not mention Chicago, only that she had planned on being in Salem anyway, which is how she got there so fast, as it was one year.

She did say she was in Chicago. I remember hearing it because I read the summary first, and there was discussion about whether or not she had said it here.
