Episode #11,176 Taped 8/14 Director – Albert Alarr
Nicole, EJ & Sydney are entering DiMansion, tho EJ hesitates to actually go inside. Nicole chides him, asking if he is going to run over to the Kiriakis place and find Brady to give him the 3rd degree. She goes inside, sees Kate coming down the staircase, looking like the Queen Bee (it’s the bright yellow jacket, lol) and asks what the heck she is doing there. Ah, Kate shocks Nicole with the news that she lives there, causing Nicole to wonder why Stefano would rent her a room. And here comes a chuckling Stefano, breaking the news that Kate is now his wife, he married her. And in comes EJ, all hugs and congrats to both his dad & Kate, which shocks Nicole. Kate takes Stefano into the other room while Nicole has a fit over EJ knowing and not telling her. Heheheh, he tells her she is not the only one who can keep a secret. Nicole talks of how EJ doesn't trust her, Stefano married to a woman she despises, and they have brought Sydney home to a place where Nicole doesn't think she is safe. She insists they are moving out, but EJ grabs her arm, warning her she is not taking his daughter anywhere. Kate is showing Stefano some delectable dessert she had the chef whip up for him, his favorite. He is delighted, but cannot have it…the diabetes, but decides maybe just a taste, a bite or two. Nicole & EJ come in, Nicole has a fit about the sugar (something with ladyfingers soaking in mocha topped with brandy), Stefano tsk tsks her away, EJ takes Kate to go meet Sydney, Nicole warns Stefano to keep his insulin under lock and key. Stefano is eating a plate of the forbidden delicacy as Nicole tells him about the call from Brady, and EJ’s determination to get at the truth. Stefano assures her all is well, not to worry, he will take care of everything.
Out in the hall, EJ & Kate are playing word games with each other (Sydney apparently was asleep, and the intro will have to wait til the morrow) with EJ wondering why Kate needed Stefano’s protection, as that is the only reason she would have married him. He guesses it has something to do with Daniel Jonas and the poisoning of Chloe Horton, she smiles sweetly. They talk of their past business venture together which did not turn out too well, he references their other “avenues” that made up for it. EJ asks how Philip took the news, she replies he was disconcerted, but that Victor even gave her away, so who knows, she may just be the one to unite the DiMera & Kiriakis families. Stefano comes out telling everyone to come in for a champagne toast. Nicole is going to check on Sydney, but closes the door behind the trio, grabs her phone from her purse, calls Brady saying they have to meet NOW!
Chad is still insisting to Mia he wants to know where his baby is, she claims not to know, just a good home. They argue. She gives him an option, they can get back together, he has to drop this baby search. They argue again, same conversation, finally Chad says o.k. but she has to drop Will Horton from her life, not even be friends. She agrees. Will & Sami are sitting at the Java Café, Mia comes in, Will gets a call, goes outside. Sami talks to Mia, sorry that she is having such a tough time, that Will told her about her baby. Will returns, starts to say something about Uncle Mickey, Mia cuts him short, says she wants to talk to him alone. Sami leaves, she admonishes Will for telling his mother, she should never have told him, so that is it. We are over, and she walks out, leaving a stunned Will. She goes home, calls Chad, tells him she did what he asked, she dumped Will.
Will goes home, sadly telling his mom that Mia broke up with him. Sami begins to apologize, but Will says it is not her fault, it is his. Mia trusted him, told him not to tell anyone, and he did. He broke the trust she had in him, and doesn’t know what to do, He needs his mom to help him. Sami says he has to get that trust back, but she doesn’t know what to tell him, as that is the one thing she was never good at.
Arianna runs into Meredith down at the pier, surprised she is back in town. Meredith drops her bag of items, spilling them out, Meredith is surprised to see a box of Mortar. Meredith claims it is to fix some cracks in cement, that she is doing some repairs to her parents’ home, getting it ready to rent out. Arianna offers to buy Meredith a drink, she refuses at first, then accepts, and next they are in the Cheatin Heart. They get to talking of Emily, Meredith again accuses Rafe of killing Emily, even tho Arianna assures her it was an accident, talks of how much Rafe loved Emily, and how hard he took her death. Meredith gets ticked off, tho, gets up, throws money on the table and stalks out.
Rafe is thinking of Sami, the fact her baby is still alive, and trying to get free from his cuffs. His wrists are in handcuffs behind the chair, and attached to a pipe. He spots a nail on the floor, tries to reach it with his foot. Now he manages to stand up, pushing the chair aside, sliding down to the floor and can stretch his leg out to drag the nail towards him with his foot. He seems to be trying to pick the lock on the cuffs, as Meredith returns, not at all happy that he is not in the chair. Before you know it, she has bashed him once again on the side on the head, knocking him out, and then later, she is mixing up a small batch of mortar on a slab.
Arianna calls someone, saying she has to see them now, and next we see her sitting with Roman in the Pub. He asks if this is about the case. Nope, she wants him to run a name for her….Meredith Hudson. He tells her that person could be trouble, that he already had run the name for Sami some weeks ago, and wants to know what is going on. Arianna replies she doesn’t know, but whatever it is, it is not good.
And back to Meredith, who is applying mortar to a row of bricks. In fact, she already has several rows already built, (absolutely amazing how much one little box of mortar mix will create) making a new wall, which will enclose the unconscious Rafe.
