A bit of jumping around today, so here goes. Aiden is on the phone with someone, saying he will have the money soon, yes he knows he is late, but that he will be having it all, as he is about to come into a great amount. Hope is at her desk when Rafe comes by, just dropped off the paperwork to get back on the force. Hope acts uninterested, non-committal, busy, so Rafe starts to leave, only saying "wish me luck". Hope jumps up with a big smile, arms raised, a big YES, gives him a hug. Is very happy.
She goes to see Aiden, smiles, kisses, small talk. He had been shredding all the Clyde Weston papers (saying to himself he is rid of him....at least for now) and they get a big hot & heavy, taking jackets off each other, when Rafe pops in. Ooops, did not mean to interrupt, did not know Hope was there. She leaves, Aiden is glad to hear Rafe may be getting back on the force, sorry he could not get him a better deal at the time. He gives him paperwork for the hearing for his sistere, Rafe looks through it. Aiden comments the judge already has been informed of Nick's prior actions. so controlling, etc.
He then makes a comment about Rafe's feelings for Hope, but Rafe says she was his partner. Oh, Aiden understands, thinks Hope is an amazing woman, is surprised every man that meets her is not in love with her. He tells Rafe in confidence that he is going to ask her to marry him. Rafe wishes him well.

Nicole is in the square, giving Serena a hard time, but with a smile. Serena hands over the certified check, Nicole makes a couple of light hearted comments, but Eric calls her on it, says "enough". Nicole reminds him that he was nearly killed as well, but Eric tells her she has not changed, is still as vindictive & money grubbing as ever. Her smile vanishes. She tells Eric to go ahead, think the worst of her, like he always does, she walks away. Eric turns to Serena who thanks him for sticking up for her, but Eric says all these events have brought up some old memories, and he doesn't think they cannot be friends, or have any kind of relationship. He thinks both should go their separate ways.

Abby sits with Will at the Pub, telling him all about Chad telling her what Stefano was up to, what he knew, how angry Stefano was. Will says you never cross Stefano, even if you are his son. She knows that, is amazed Chad loves her so much, wanted to protect her from Stefano. Will at first is telling her she is really in love with Chad, to admit it to herself, but eventually tells her to trust Ben, he is a rock, dependable, tell him anything, etc. Abby is surprised at Will's about face, but he notes that he did not trust Sonny, which got him telling lies, and engaging in this warfare with Paul, the result being Sonny left in order to get away from him. Abby figures Sonny just wants to be able to think by himself, and will be back.

Chad sits in the Club, drowning his sorrows in scotch. Ben comes in, telling Chad it looks like he has had a bad day. Chad is civil, quiet voiced, doesn't rise to the bait, tells Ben he is a lucky man, has gotten all he wanted. Clyde arrives, pulls Ben away, telling him he told him to stay away from Chad. Abby chose you, you won, he lost. Be satisfied, be happy. But Ben glowers, hates Chad, tells of Abby going to see him at DiMansion earlier. Clyde doesn't like that at all. But notes that Chad came in here to drink, is alone, so it appears he is not happy with the way his day went. He evidently did not get good news. Once again he tells Ben he won, to go home and make nice with Abby. Ben doesn't like that phrase, but does get up and leaves.

Meanwhile, Serena has come in needing a drink, meets Chad for the lst time, both are boozing it up with the scotch as they flirt and commiserate with each other over things not going well in their lives. Ben watches intently, drinking a beer, talking of how much he hates him. After Ben leaves, Serena goes to the ladies' room, Clyde sidles up to Chad, making snide remarks about how Chad is getting along with the new lady friend. Chad tells him to go away, Serena returns, wonders what is going on. Clyde says he was only saying hello to an old friend. He leaves, Serena comments the guy did not act like an old friend. Chad agrees he isn't, offers Serena another drink. She smiles, is glad to accept, likes the way he thinks.

At the Kmansion, Brady has called the cops, Theresa keeps her "frightened little rabbit" look. Xander is denying, says Theresa came on to him, Brady says shut up. Victor comes in, gets the lowdown, tells Brady to take Theresa outside, he will take care of Xander. When they are gone, Victor rips into the worthless Xander, son of his worthless brother. Xander protests, Vic will have none of it, won't help, even talks of the court suit by Nicole, good for her. Outside, Theresa is pretending to be all upset, thus Brady is comforting her, holding her as pretends to sob over "what might have happened" with a big smile on her face. The cops come, Theresa tells her story, Brady tells his, Xander is taken away in handcuffs, with Vic advising he get free legal aid.
Everyone is gone, Theresa wants to take Brady out for dinner, to thank him for all he did. Brady wondered how long it was going to take for her to try and take advantage of the situation, tells her flat out, NO, nothing has changed.

Nicole meets up with Daniel, (who seems to be growing a small mustache & goatee) wanting to tell him her good news. Daniel gets a couple of calls, has to go to the hospital, they will meet later. She is walking in the square, sees a couple of flyers & posters about helping the homeless, comments (to God, evidently) that he is not very subtle, is he.
Later, she meets with Daniel again, tells him of winning the law suit, getting hollared at by Erich (Daniel berates Eric for that) and getting the money from Serena already. But she gave it all to a homeless shelter. And when she gets Xander's money, she is making a change in her life. She wants to be a good role model for Parker, and chasing down sensational stories is not how she wants Parker to see her. So, when she gets the money, she is going into business for herself, not sure yet about it, just an idea, but it is what she wants to do. Daniel is proud of her.

At the station, another cop comments to Hope about hearing Rafe wanting to be reinstated. She nods yes, good idea, hope it comes to pass. The cop notes that she & Rafe made a good team, like you & Bo used to be. She agrees, yes, she thinks so, too.

Everyone remember when Hope picked up Aiden's tablet and saw that someone had done an Ewe search on Hope and her net worth and Aiden told her Chase had done it. I'm just saying!

Brady to Theresa - "Can it! Nothing's changed. Keep your distance." :rotfl:

I was so proud of Nicole. She's been shown to be money hungry in the past and for her to donate that money to the homeless charity shows just what kind of person she really is at heart.

Gonna love when Eric learns what she did with the money.

Left out that Abby sits in the park debating whether to call Chad to check on him, along comes Ben, who once again attempts to get her to tell him about her conversation with Chad. He is quite the stalker, for sure.

But later there was a scene where Aiden talked to Chase about it. Chase told Aiden how he looked it up because he knew Hope had money and he wanted to see how rich she was. Then Aiden talked to him about how it didn't matter how much money people had and that it was none of their business.

Also loved Nicole's parting shot to Mr. Sanctimonious Eric. I was so glad she said what she did. That is the biggest problem I have with this coupling. Go figure Chad made me actually enjoy Serena, deleted spoiler info in non-spoiler forum - JS. The actors really looked like they enjoyed it.

Abigail still has some of the Salem Brain and even Benny was wise for a nano-second until daddy showed him who still holds the reigns.

Aiden being sinister and shredding evidence will bite him. I wonder if he will get barred from practicing law. deleted spoiler info in non-spoiler forum - JS

The cop at the station comparing Hope and Rafe and Bo and Hope was a little much for me and I hope that it's a red herring and not an indication of things to come.

I am wondering if the phone conversation is a red herring though. They could still spin it that way. I still don't think he means any harm towards Hope.

If this is the last we are seeing of Xander for a while, I feel cheated. I want him back in 3-6 months to get revenge on Victor and idiot Brady.

Speaking of which, while I was happy he told Jeannie T where to go at the end, he still is way too gullible around her.

I'm still not happy with the Nicole writing. I didn't like Eric's comment but I am glad he told Serena it was over right after Nicole said what she said. Daniel added no value to the show today. Glad he was hardly on.

Hope's shirt was too short and too tight. I'm happy to see a new police station set though. Welcome back Rafe!

I didn't mind Serena with Chad either. He seems to have chemistry with any woman he crosses paths with. Please note that Chad was wearing a black shirt with NO tie.

Everyone seems too eager to provoke the X-man. He's powerfully-built and one swipe from his fist would send Victor to Kiriakis heaven. As for Brady, he seems to think his physique is all he needs. However, if Xander brings a gun to a fist fight it's all over. Finally Jeannie T. had best watch out. As a pariah at the K-mansion she's very vulnerable to revenge. Regarding Nicole, gleefully gloating over her procedurally-absurd lawsuit victory over the hapless Bluebird while wearing her low-cut, too-tight dress made her look bad. Fortunately, she was later redeemed by her donation to the homeless. Over at Club TBD, Chad and Bluebird seemed a good match -- far better than their prior love interests -- sourpuss Eric and the Ms. Perfect. Finally, there was one BIG downer -- the end of the string of Dr.-McScruffy-free episodes.

Thanks for the summary. I tried watching, but missed the first 5 minutes, and then the show was interrupted for another 10 minutes because of a shooting at a courthouse. It was a decent show, though. I just don't like this supposed turn-around in Aiden's character, or the Rafe & Hope storyline. Ugh!

Well today just reinforced why I hate the hypocritical sourpuss Eric. If he doesn't even want to be Serena's friend, then please explain to me why his attack on Nicole was necessary? Especially if he is supposedly so in love with her. Any hope I had for him and Nicole being together is gone now. I'm liking her more with Daniel now, and I liked their scenes today. He was barely on, which was nice and refreshing. Also refreshing was Serena; she is way more enjoyable with Chad than she ever was with Father Boring. That said, I'm getting sick and tired of the Westons always being around Chad and gossiping. It's just downright annoying! So is Ben's continuous stalking of Abigail.

I hope that Xander is put away for a VERY long time and that that's the end of him being on our screens, but I'm also glad that Brady still isn't warming up to Theresa. Furthermore, the Abigail & Will scenes are great. We need to see more of these kinds of family interactions.

Xander: There's no denying he's a grade-A scumbag who deserves to be behind bars but couldn't it be for something he actually did? I hate the way this went down. When he was first introduced I found him to intriguing with a real sense of menace. When he tried to kill Eric and Nicole that should have been his swan song. Instead they reduced him to filler, doing nothing but pouting about being reduced to being Victor's gardener. They could have been doing a build-up to his revenge and he at least could have gone out with a bang instead of this monumental whimper. Such a shame.

I suspect it ended this way because the new headwriters probably just wanted to close out the misbegotten Elephant Epic as quickly as possible and I can't say I blame them. But when Xander was carted away I couldn't help thinking of Marlon Brando's classic line from "On the Waterfront": "I coulda been a contender." And that in my very humble opinion fits Xander to a T.

I'm not as young as I was once so I probably heard incorrectly but when Will was talking to Abigail was he actually accepting responsibility for Sonny leaving for Paris? No, couldn't be I should get that checked.

But the big takeaway that nobody's mentioned so far-probably because you all knew I would-is that: Things are looking good for Gabi.:love::love::love:

I don't know how this hearing Aidan got for her came about but I'm okay with that. This made the episode for me. And the fact that Hope is on board with it just increases my love for her.

Thanks for the summary. My local affiliate was showing the funeral of a longtime local congressman and instead of just picking up the show halfway through they started the show from the beginning at 1:30 so my dvr only caught the first half.

So I wonder if that is the end of Xander? It's funny, this whole thing with Xander and Serena is very strange. I agree with a previous poster that if they were only meant as short term characters then they should have been gone in the aftermath of the stuff with the blood diamonds and trying to kill Eric and Nicole (or at least Xander should have). Both characters have just been killing time the past 2 months. It's ridiculous to think that was the intent of the former writers but whatever.

I am so sick of Ben and Clyde. Can't stand either character and I hope both are gone soon. Abigail just needs to admit once and for all her true feelings for Chad. She's delusional.

I just don't have a good feeling about Aiden. I feel like the new writers will be taking him in a different direction. I was really hoping the new writers would have dropped the Rafe/Hope angle in terms of his supposed feelings for her but good grief it appears they are going full steam ahead. Perhaps with the mention of Gabi today that can occupy him for a bit since he apparently isn't allowed to have a viable love interest.

Somehow, i don't think Aiden was ever intended to be good. Basically, because of his covering for Chase, when he spoke of Hope being wealthy. A lot of us haven't trusted him all along and not just because of hoping Bo would be back for good. That has never sounded like a sure thing.

Nice to see Hope has an office that looks like an office at the "cop shop" instead
of the hospital. I enjoyed her happy dance;

We saw another table at the Brady Pub today

I wonder if Rafe will get reinstated. Interesting to learn he and
Aiden are helping Gabi.

Poor Nicole. She gave away the money she got from Serena. I wonder
what she will do when she finds out Xander doesn't have any.

I'm glad Brady didn't fall for what Theresa did this time. I wonder if we'll
ever see Xander again.

Line of the day goes to Victor "He can't afford one. Time to call legal aid"

A lot of us haven't trusted him all along and not just because of hoping Bo would be back for good. That has never sounded like a sure thing.

Include me in that count. I liked the Hope/Aiden pairing at first and the way they started. You just knew the mutual dislike for each other was going to lead to more. I started discounting him though the second it began to seem like he was hiding what really happened with his wife. Ever since I haven't been able to give up the idea that he's shadier than he lets on.
