(Kiriakis Mansion)

Lucas walks down the hall to a bedroom door and puts his hand on the knob. He takes a deep breath and opens it. Adrienne lays sound asleep in the bed, he smiles and pulls the door back shut. Sonny walks up behind him.

Sonny: Lucas?
Lucas: Sonny hey.
Sonny: I didn't know you were here.
Lucas: Henderson let me in, I hope it's okay?
Sonny: Oh sure, absolutely.
Lucas: Good. I was hoping to have a moment with your mom but I saw she's resting.
Sonny: Yeah, she started feeling pretty rough earlier after the treatments.
Lucas: Well hopefully she feels better by Christmas day. The staff has the place looking very festive.

Sonny smiles and nods.

Lucas: But hey, I'll just tell you my news if you wouldn't care to relay it to her?
Sonny: Of course.
Lucas: My sister Billie called from Europe, she invited me to come for Christmas and I accepted.
Sonny: You're going to Europe?
Lucas: I know it's sudden, but I could use a change of scenery for a few days. Plus I haven't seen Billie since she was in Salem last.
Sonny: I understand completely, I'll be sure to tell mom.

He pats him on the back.

Lucas: I appreciate it.
Sonny: No problem.
Lucas: Well, I'd better head over and pack. You all have a Merry Christmas.

He starts to walk off.

Sonny: Hey Lucas.

He stops and turns around.

Sonny: Uh, I just wanted to thank you again.
Lucas: For?
Sonny: Your decision last week, about giving mom space while she gets treatment.
Lucas: It's the least I could do Sonny. I love your mom, but she needs to concentrate on getting better.

(Horton House)

An hour later Lucas walks down the stairs holding a suitcase. The door opens and Jennifer walks in holding a stack of presents.

Lucas: Whoa, let me give you a hand.
Jennifer: Oh Lucas thank you!

They take the presents and put them under the tree.

Lucas: Looks like you went all out this year!
Jennifer: Most are for Thomas, but isn't that what a grandmother is supposed to do?

He smiles.

Lucas: It's hard to believe sometimes, us being grandparents now.
Jennifer: I know it! It seems like just yesterday I was a little girl opening presents in this room on Christmas morning.
Lucas: Great memories.

She notices the suitcase at the bottom of the stairs.

Jennifer: Is that your suitcase?
Lucas: Um, yeah.
Jennifer: Are you going somewhere?
Lucas: Billie called earlier.
Jennifer: Oh? How is she?
Lucas: She's well. But she invited me for Christmas and I accepted.
Jennifer: In Europe?
Lucas: Yes, my plane leaves in an hour.
Jennifer: I see.

She turns and looks at the tree.

Lucas: I'm sorry, I know it's so sudden.
Jennifer: No it's fine, just unexpected.
Lucas: I haven't seen Billie in a while now and I figured getting away for a few days could help.
Jennifer: Did you tell Adrienne?
Lucas: I went there and she was sleeping, but I told Sonny and he is going to tell her.
Jennifer: Well, I know everyone is going to miss you. I was just talking to Aunt Maggie in the car, Caroline has invited everyone to the pub for Christmas Eve.
Lucas: I'm sure it will be wonderful.
Jennifer: But before you go.

She grabs a present from under the tree and hands it to him.

Lucas: Oh Jen, you didn't have to do this.
Jennifer: Go ahead and open it.

He unwraps it to see his favorite cologne.

Lucas: Hey! Just in time to, I'm almost out.

They hug.

Jennifer: Merry Christmas Lucas.
Lucas: Merry Christmas Jen.

(Salem Airport)

Lucas walks down the aisle and takes his seat. He looks out the plane window and watches the snow flurries fall. He sighs and takes his ticket out. He looks at the destination again: Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Lucas: I hated to lie, but nobody can know where I'm really going.

Woo hoo!! I hope this is going where I think it is!!! Fantastic start!!

December 22nd

(Michigan)

Lucas walks on the snow covered sidewalk thru the yard and onto the front porch. He sits the suitcase and bag of presents down, he sighs and rings the door bell. He frowns as he hears fast footsteps and commotion inside, then silence. The door suddenly pulls open, the face of Brandon Walker staring at him.

Lucas: Hello Brandon.
Brandon: Lucas? What are you doing here?
Lucas: It's Christmas time, I wanted to see my daughter.
Brandon:I hope nobody followed you!

He frowns again.

Lucas: Well Merry Christmas to you to.

Brandon smiles and shakes his head.

Brandon: I'm sorry, we just weren't expecting anyone. Come on in.

He grabs the suitcase and bag and walks in. He smiles at the Christmas tree and decorations in the front room. Brandon shuts the door.

Lucas: The place looks festive.
Brandon: Yes, the kids did most of it.

They look at each other.

Lucas: Look I contacted Billie. I told everyone I was spending Christmas with her in Europe, she will cover for me.
Brandon: Good, and again I'm sorry. I know you are always careful when it comes to Sami and the kids.
Lucas: I'm just forever thankful you were willing to take them in. And Billie and the ISA contact for helping us pull it off. They weren't safe anymore when Andre Dimera was released from jail.
Brandon: What is the latest on Andre?
Lucas: He actually done a good deed by helping to recapture an escaped convict.
Brandon: You're joking?

He shakes his head.

Lucas: The only thing is his brother Chad has put some trust into him since, and I think that was Andre's angle all along.
Brandon: Trust? What kind of trust?
Lucas: Chad's letting him be a part of the new Dimera Enterprises.
Brandon: Really? So maybe he's lost interest in finding Sami?
Lucas: Oh I wouldn't say that. Stefano had contacts all over the world and I'm sure Andre still has access to them.
Brandon: But what could he offer now?
Lucas: A nice portion of his fathers money that he wants back from Sami.
Brandon: True.
Lucas: But I do have more news about Adrienne and Hope, but I want Sami to hear it.
Brandon: Of course.

They walk into the hallway and stop at a bookshelf. Brandon pushes it aside to reveal a hidden door, he opens it.

Brandon: Everything is fine, you can come out!

A parade of footsteps start and gets close to the door. Allie comes out and sees Lucas.

Allie: DADDY!

They hug, Lucas laughs.

Lucas: Hi sweetheart, Merry Christmas!
Allie: Oh my god! You're really here?!
Lucas: Yes I'm really here!

Johnny steps out, followed by Sydney and Sami.

Sami: Lucas! Oh my god!

She hugs him.

Lucas: Oh it's so good to see everyone!
Sami: It's good to see you to! We never expected this!

She suddenly pulls out of the hug and looks at him.

Sami: Wait! Did something happen?! Is everyone back home okay?!
Lucas: Well I do have some news, but it can wait until later.

She raises her eyebrows.

Lucas: Trust me.

A few minutes later everyone is sitting in the living room.

Lucas: Wow! I can't believe how much you kids have grown! It looks like Johnny is putting on some serious muscle!
Johnny: I've been working out with Brandon, he has a punching bag in the basement.
Lucas: Really? That's cool.

Allie walks over and looks in the bag.

Allie: Are these for me Daddy?
Sami: Allie don't touch!

Lucas stands up and smiles.

Lucas: It's okay.

He opens the bag and takes out a present.

Lucas: This is for you sweetheart.

She smiles and takes it.

Allie: Can I open it now?!

Lucas looks at Sami.

Sami: Of course, go ahead.

She starts to unwrap it, Johnny suddenly stands up.

Johnny: This aint fair! I want my dad!

He runs off down the hall and into a bedroom. Lucas, Sami and Brandon look at each other.

Sami: What can I say, he misses EJ so much.
Lucas: Well that's understandable. I'll talk to him.

He walks down the hall and knocks on the door. He opens it, Johnny is laying on the bed.

Lucas: Johnny, do you care if I come in pal?

He looks away from him. He walks in and sits down on the bed.

Lucas: I'm so sorry buddy, I know thing's haven't been easy since your dad left.
Johnny: He died, he's in heaven.
Lucas: Yes. But I do know he still loves you very much.

Johnny closes his eyes.

Lucas: And your mom loves you, Brandon loves you, I love you, and everyone back in Salem loves you.
Johnny: Then why don't we ever get to see them?!
Lucas: It's hard to understand right now, but I promise one day you will.
Johnny: If you say so.

He smiles and pats him on the shoulder.

Lucas: And besides, do you really think I would bring Allie presents and not you and Sydney?

Johnny smiles.

Lucas: Come on, lets go open them!

That evening Lucas and Sami sit at the dining room table.

Lucas: They were worn out!
Sami: It's been a long time since they've had a fun day, all thanks to you.

He smiles.

Lucas: Yeah, it was a fun day. Playing with toys, eating pizza, drinking hot chocolate.
Sami: Everything we used to do with Will.

They both tear up, he takes her hand.

Lucas: Will was the perfect son, and now he's our perfect guardian angel.

He kisses her on the cheek, they wipe their eyes.

Lucas: So how have you been holding up?

She sighs.

Sami: It's been so rough Lucas. Being all cooped up, no kind of contact with the outside world.
Lucas: I know it's been impossible, but you know what the ISA recommended for this to work.
Sami: How could I forget? No phone, computer or any kind of traceable network connection. We are living in the 1980's!

Brandon walks in and sits down.

Brandon: Sorry, had to take that call from work.
Sami: But he can still have a cell phone!
Lucas: Yes, because he's not the one in hiding.
Sami: I know, I'm sorry.

They all smile.

Brandon: So Lucas, what other news do you have for us?
Lucas: Well, I suppose I will tell you about Adrienne first.

He explains about the wedding and cancer diagnosis.

Sami: Oh my god! Lucas I'm so sorry!
Lucas: Thanks, it's been difficult.
Brandon: And sorry about the wedding to. It sounds like her ex is definitely confused.
Sami: Maybe you should have stayed with her?

He shakes his head.

Lucas: Trust me, coming here to be with Allie is the best thing for me.
Brandon: I agree.
Lucas: Besides, I know Sonny will take excellent care of his mom.
Sami: Without a doubt. Sonny is the best!
Brandon: Sonny? Is that the young man you told me about? That Will was with?
Sami: Yes, Will loved him so much.
Brandon: Well, I have to admit Will was always a great kid. But I will forever admire him for being true to himself when he got older.
Lucas: He was the best.
Sami: So what's the news about Aunt Hope?

He looks at them both.

Sami: Lucas, what is it?

He explains about Andre exposing her at the Halloween festival and being sentenced to prison.

Sami: What?! Was the judge insane?!
Lucas: Everyone thought it was going to be fine. Justin made a strong case about Stefano's history with the Brady's and Hope being distraught over Bo's death. The judge took everything into consideration, but then the bombshell verdict.

Brandon shakes his head.

Brandon: I remember the hell Stefano put my dad and Lexie thru. And I remember Andre committing the Salem Stalker scheme.
Lucas: Right, when he impersonated Tony.
Brandon: As far as I'm concerned, Stefano got what was coming to him.
Lucas: I think everyone would agree with that.
Sami: Oh I don't believe this!

She gets up and walks to the other side of the room, they both stare at her.

Lucas: Sami?

She turns around.

Sami: You know what? It's time for all of this to come to an end!
Brandon: What do you mean?

She walks back to the table.

Sami: I want to meet with Andre, like now!

They both shake their heads.

Lucas: Sami, you know that's not an option.
Brandon: Right, this whole arrangement will be for nothing then.
Sami: Exactly!
Lucas: What do you mean?

She sighs and throws her arms up.

Sami: I can't live like this any longer! The kids can't live like this any longer!
Brandon: But they have to be protected Samantha.
Sami: I will always protect my kids Brandon!
Brandon: And meeting with Andre is going to protect them how?
Sami: It's simple, I'm going to give him what he wants.
Lucas: But Sami, EJ wanted you to have that money.
Sami: Yes he did, but he also wouldn't want his kids to be living like this. And I know you don't want this for Allie.

He gets up and walks over to her.

Lucas: I don't like this idea at all, but I also know when you have your mind made up.

She smiles, they hug.

Lucas: I'll call Billie so she can notify her contact.

He walks out of the room. Brandon stands up, they look at each other.

Brandon: Are you sure you want to do this?
Sami: I have a plan, I think it will work.
Brandon: I hope you know what you're doing.

She smiles and takes his hand.

Sami: Brandon, you have been so wonderful to us. Thank you so much for all the sacrifices.
Brandon: Don't thank me yet.

She looks at him confused.

Brandon: I'm going with you guys.

Lucas walks back into the room.

Lucas: I talked to Billie, she's getting the clearance now.

She smiles again.

Sami: Salem here we come!

(Pinewood Hotel)

Andre Dimera pulls into the parking lot, he looks around and sighs.

Andre: It's been years since I've been to the Pinewood. Ugh, still hideous as ever!

Upstairs in room 343 Sami sits at a small table in the corner, Brandon is pacing back and forth.

Sami: Brandon please! You're making me dizzy just watching you.
Brandon: Are you sure you want to do this Samantha? It's not too late to back out.

She shakes her head.

Brandon: You can go upstairs with Lucas and the kids, I can make up some bogus proposal.
Sami: No, this ends today!

He sighs.

Brandon: Are you sure Andre even knows this place? It's fifty miles out of Salem.
Sami: He will show, trust me. EJ used this place as a meeting point.
Brandon: Why am I not surprised?

There is a knock at the door, they look at each other.

Brandon: Ready?

She stands up and nods. He walks over to the door and pulls it open to see Andre's smiling face.

Brandon: Andre Dimera.

His smile fades, a look of confusion comes over his face.

Andre: I know you.
Brandon: Yes, Brandon Walker, Nicole's brother.

He looks around the hall cautiously then looks back at Brandon.

Andre: So just what in the hell is going on here?

He steps aside to reveal Sami, Andre's face goes stone cold.

Andre: Well well well, if it isn't the thieving black widow.
Sami: Coming from you Andre, that's a compliment.
Andre: Yes I suppose you're right. I should've said the thieving Brady *bleep*!
Brandon: Let's watch our mouth!

Andre continues to look at her.

Sami: It's okay Brandon, I want to speak with Andre alone.
Brandon: I don't think so.
Sami: Brandon please!

He looks at her, then back at Andre.

Brandon: Fine, but I will be right outside the door.

He steps out and shuts the door, Sami and Andre stare at each other.

Andre: I must say very clever on your part, luring me here under the guise of a supposed business proposal.
Sami: Oh it's not supposed, I indeed have a business proposal for you.
Andre: And why should I listen to anything you have to say?

He steps towards her.

Andre: You stole my families fortune, why shouldn't I just strangle you dead right now?

She steps towards him.

Sami: Go for it! The fortune has blood on it anyway right?

He grins and shakes his head.

Andre: Fine, I will hear your proposal.
Sami: Good.
Andre: But I can't promise I won't kill you, especially if I don't like what I hear.
Sami: I'm not afraid of you Andre, not anymore!
Andre: What are you going to do little Sami? Holler for Mr. Muscles outside?

She turns and walks back to the table, she takes a small envelope out of her purse.

Andre: And what would that be?
Sami: What you've always wanted, the keys to Stefano's empire.

He extends his hand but she moves hers back.

Andre: I'm not here to play games Samantha!
Sami: And neither am I.
Andre: Then what's in the envelope?
Sami: The access code.

He raises his eyebrows.

Sami: To one hundred million dollars.

He eyes her cautiously.

Sami: All you have to do is agree to my terms.
Andre: One hundred million? I believe the overall amount is one hundred and twelve.
Sami: Yes that's right, and I will be keeping the difference for the security of my family.

He sighs and looks away.

Sami: It's only fair Andre! Johnny and Sydney are EJ's children!

He looks back at her.

Andre: So let me get this straight? I receive one hundred million while you retain twelve? Of course I will agree to those terms!

She shakes her head.

Sami: That's not my only term, not even close!
Andre: What else do you want Sami? Twelve million seems rather generous, considering you stole it in the first place!
Sami: What I want is very simple.
Andre: I'm all ears.
Sami: My Aunt Hope released from prison by tomorrow, Christmas Eve.

His eyes go wide, a look of anger comes over his face.

Andre: Hope released from prison?!
Sami: That's right!
Andre: She murdered my father in cold blood!
Sami: And the *bleep* got what he deserved!

He grabs her shoulders and pulls her towards him. They stare at each other in rage.

Sami: Go ahead Andre! Take care of me just like your father would have!

He takes a deep breath and lets go of her, she doesn't step away.

Sami: You may feel loyal to Stefano, but you know damn well he had it coming! Tormenting my family for decades beginning with my parents! Brainwashing John and Hope! Not to mention the issues me, Eric and Carrie had growing up!

He stares at her.

Sami: It's the right thing to do and you know it!
Andre: Never! Hope Brady will not be released from prison!

She lets out a laugh.

Sami: It's time to face the truth Andre!
Andre: And what the hell is that supposed to mean?!
Sami: It means that if Stefano hadn't been broke at the time of his death, you would have been the first to thank my aunt for killing him.
Andre: That's insane!
Sami: Is it?! Because we both know you have always wanted the Dimera crown! And with one hundred million dollars, you can have it all!
Andre: For your information, Dimera Enterprises has rebounded quite nicely.
Sami: All thanks to Chad I'm sure.
Andre: Ah the charming Prince! Of course he gets all the credit!

She laughs again, he walks to the other side of the room.

Sami: Come on Andre, there's only one Dimera legacy you want and it's Stefano's! And I'm offering you the opportunity, right here, right now.

He turns around and looks at her again.

Sami: So what's your answer?
Andre: Even if I was interested in this proposal, I have no means to ensure that Hope would be released from prison.
Sami: You're joking right? You expect me to believe that all Dimera resources have just vanished?

He grins.

(Salem Inn)

Three hours later Andre steps off the elevator to the lower level banquet room. He walks down the hall and thru the door, the Christmas charity fundraiser is in full swing. He walks over to a donation box and drops a check in. He spots Judge Karen Fitzpatrick talking with people in the corner, he walks over.

Andre: Why Judge Fitzpatrick! So lovely to see you!

She turns around, a confused look on her face.

Karen: Hello Mr. Dimera, I didn't expect to see you here.
Andre: Yes, well I wanted to give a donation on behalf of Dimera Enterprises.
Karen: I see. Well you have a Merry Christmas sir.
Andre: Actually, I was wondering if we could speak in private for a moment.
Karen: Mr. Dimera-
Andre: Trust me! It is very important.

She sighs. They walk out of the room and to the end of the hall.

Karen: Make it quick!
Andre: I understand you spoke with my brother Chad recently concerning Hope Brady.
Karen: Yes, and as I told him, any new developments with the case will not be heard until after the new year.
Andre: Well, perhaps I can persuade you to change your mind.
Karen: I'm afraid not sir! Now if you'll excuse me!

He takes out a folded document and extends it to her.

Andre: Are you sure, your honor?

She unfolds the document, her eyes go wide.

Karen: How? How did you get this?!

He smiles.

Andre: How I got it is not important. However, making certain it stays between us is.

She continues to look at it.

Andre: Wouldn't you agree?

He takes the document out of her hand and folds it back, she looks back up at him.

Andre: Now, you do whatever it is that must be done to ensure that Hope Brady is released by tomorrow. Is that clear?
Karen: Crystal.
Andre: Marvelous!
Karen: But I will say this....I now understand Justin Kiriakis' defense for Ms. Brady. You are as evil as your father was!

She walks off, he looks at his reflection in the silver elevator door and smiles.

Andre: Indeed I am!

(Brady Pub)

The last customer walks out the door, Roman locks it and turns the sign to closed. Steve and Kayla sit at a table, Caroline comes down the stairs holding a box.

Roman: Alright! It's noon, the breakfast rush is over, lets get this place ready for tonight!
Steve: Sounds good! Joey should be here soon, he had some last minute shopping to do.

Caroline sits the box on the counter, Kayla walks over to her.

Kayla: What's in the box?

She opens it, Kayla covers her mouth when she sees all the framed pictures of departed loved ones.

Kayla: Oh mom.
Caroline: I thought we could set them up on the counter, make a Christmas memorial for those we have lost.
Kayla: What a beautiful idea.

They hug. Over in the corner Steve and Roman are putting Christmas cloths on the tables.

Steve: So I heard Chad Dimera spoke to the judge?
Roman: Yeah he did.
Steve: And?
Roman: She made it clear she won't hear anything until after the new year.
Steve: Damn!
Roman: That was my word exactly.
Steve: This isn't right man! Hope in prison and missing Christmas, all over Stefano.
Roman: Tell me about it. But Rafe and Shawn aren't giving up, they are at the station as we speak.

(Police Station)

Rafe slams the desk phone down, Shawn walks in holding two cups of coffee.

Shawn: I take it that was bad news?

He shakes his head.

Rafe: My FBI contact.
Shawn: And?
Rafe: Nothing they can do either.
Shawn: Of course not! Just like the ISA!
Rafe: You spoke to Shane?
Shawn: No, John. He made some calls but the same result.
Rafe: John was here?
Shawn: No. Belle made it in late last night so I stopped by the penthouse this morning.
Rafe: Hey that's great!
Shawn: Yeah, I'm glad she's home for Christmas. I just wish we could find a way for mom.

Rafe sighs.

Rafe: I hate to say it, but at this point it would take a major miracle.

(Penthouse)

Marlena and Belle are putting gifts under the tree, John, Brady, and Paul walk into the room.

Brady: Now that's what I call a Christmas Eve brunch!
Paul: Tell me about it!
John: I just hope I left enough room for Caroline's goodies later!

Everyone laughs. John takes Brady aside.

John: So how you holding up kid?
Brady: I'm better. Still a struggle sometimes, but overall better.
John: No word from Theresa?

He shakes his head.

Brady: None, not even at Christmas.

John pats him on the back.

John: I'm sorry I had to leave the night we stopped Orpheus, I should've been here for you.
Brady: Dad it's fine. The ISA got a lead on his contact ring and needed your assistance, I understand.

Eve walks into the room holding Tate.

Eve: He's all changed and his bellies full!

Everyone laughs again, Brady walks over and takes him.

Brady: Thank you Eve.
Eve: No Brady, thank you for letting me stay and help.

Marlena and Belle put the last presents under the tree.

Marlena: I wish Shawn would have stayed for brunch, but I know he's still trying to get Hope released.
Belle: It's so awful. I couldn't believe Judge Fitzpatrick wouldn't hear the new evidence right away.
Marlena: Yes, but we both know Shawn will never give up. He's just like his father in that regard.

They both smile.

Marlena: But what I am grateful for is that both of Claire's parents are home for Christmas. She's missed you so much.

Claire sits on her bed texting Theo, Paul stops in the door way.

Paul: So I hear you have a musical surprise for everyone at the pub tonight?

She smiles.

Claire: Yes, I've been practicing.
Paul: I'm sure it will be great.

(Carver House)

Abe and Valerie laugh as they put tinsel on the tree. Theo sits on the couch holding his phone, he glares at them.

Valerie: Well, I think that just about does it! Are we ready to plug it in?
Theo: NO!

They both look at him startled.

Abe: Theo, what is it?
Theo: It's not ready!

He rushes out of the room, they both look at each other. He comes back holding an ornament.

Theo: Remember this dad?! Moms ornament that we hang on the tree together every year?!

Abe looks at him confused.

Abe: Of course I remember son. I just thought we'd hang it when we got a moment together.
Theo: Which will be never!

He points at Valerie.

Theo: All you care about is her now!
Abe: Theo that's enough!

He drops the ornament onto the couch and rushes up the stairs. Abe sighs and looks at her.

Abe: I'm so sorry.
Valerie: Don't be. This time of year has to be so difficult for him, for both of you.

The door opens, Lani walks in holding gifts and covered in snow.

Valerie: Oh my! Let me help!
Lani: Thank you.

They sit the gifts under the tree, Abe moves the curtains to see out the window.

Abe: Wow, it's really starting to come down out there!
Lani: Oh yes, but at least it'll be a white Christmas.

Theo sits on his bed holding a picture frame, he stares at Lexie's smiling face. His phone goes off, it is a text from Ciara asking if he is coming to the pub tonight.

(Horton House)

Ciara stands at the window beside the tree watching the snow come down. Doug and Julie walk up behind her.

Julie: Isn't the snow lovely?

She looks at them and forces a smile, a tear rolls down her cheek.

Doug: Oh sweetheart!

He pulls her into a hug.

Doug: I know you miss your mom so much.
Julie: And your dad to.

They all wipe tears out of their eyes.

Ciara: It's just so unfair Grandpa!
Doug: I know it and we all hate it very much!
Julie: But we must keep our faith dear! We have to believe your mom will be home again soon.
Doug: Absolutely! And we all know your brother and Rafe won't stop until it happens.
Ciara: But I wish she was here now. It doesn't feel like Christmas at all.

Upstairs Jennifer sits in a rocking chair holding Thomas. Her phone lights up, it is a text from JJ saying that he and Abby have arrived at Laura's. She texts back that she will call soon. Julie walks into the room and smiles.

Julie: Looks like he is out.
Jennifer: Yes, it didn't take long.

She lays him in the crib, they both watch him sleep and smile.

Julie: I'm so glad Chad dropped him off. Will he be at the pub later?
Jennifer: Yes, he's meeting us there.
Julie: Not with Gabi?
Jennifer: I don't know. I told him this morning that we are going to have a talk, but not today, not until after Christmas.
Julie: I understand. But I do hate that JJ was hurt, enough so to make him want to leave town.
Jennifer: Yes, me too.
Julie: Well, I'll be in the kitchen finishing the cookies.

She walks out of the room, Jennifer sighs and closes her eyes.

Jennifer: It's not just JJ, it's both of my children.

Chad and Gabi are sitting on the couch kissing, she suddenly pulls away.

Chad: Hey, what is it?
Gabi: I'm sorry.
Chad: What's wrong?

She looks at him.

Gabi: I'm not sure if I should go to the pub with you tonight.
Chad: What you do mean?
Gabi: I think it would be too awkward, being around the Horton's.

He sighs

Chad: Jennifer told me that she and I are going to talk, but after Christmas.
Gabi: But still.
Chad: Where will you spend Christmas Eve then? Your dad and Dario are out of town, Rafe's trying to get Hope released.
Gabi: I just don't know if I can face everyone.

He takes her hand.

Chad: Gabi, JJ was unfaithful to you and Abby died. We didn't do anything wrong, including falling in love with each other.

There is a knock on the study door.

Chad: Come in!

The door opens and Harold steps in holding a sealed yellow envelope.

Harold: This just arrived for you sir.
Chad: On Christmas Eve?

He takes the envelope, Harold walks out and shuts the door. He opens it and pulls out two documents. His eyes go wide, Gabi stands up.

Gabi: What is it? Who's it from?

He looks at her.

Chad: It's from Andre.
Gabi: Andre?
Chad: Yes, a typed and signed letter of resignation from Dimera Enterprises.
Gabi:What?!

He looks at the other document.

Chad: And this is handwritten from him.
Gabi: What's it say?
Chad: He's left Salem for Italy.

He sits the documents on the table and thinks for a second.

Chad: I need to talk with Kate.
Gabi: She's at the Kiriakis Mansion helping Adrienne.
Chad: Are you sure?
Gabi: Yes, I saw her there earlier when I dropped Ari off.
Chad: I'll call her.

(Kiriakis Mansion)

Sonny and Kate sit in the corner of Adrienne's room watching Ari play with a doll house, Justin sits in a chair beside the bed, Adrienne lays smiling.

Adrienne: I can't believe how big she is now.

Justin looks at her and smiles.

Justin: I'm sorry we didn't get the news we were hoping for this morning.

She sighs and smiles again.

Adrienne: Another day in bed, even on Christmas Eve.

He takes her hand.

Justin: Well don't worry, Sonny and I aren't going anywhere. And I promise this Christmas is going to be special.

In the corner Sonny and Kate are still watching Ari.

Sonny: I can see Will in her more and more everyday.
Kate: Oh without question.
Sonny: I'm glad Gabi dropped her off.
Kate: Ari loves you Sonny, she needs you in her life.
Sonny: She will always be a daughter to me.

Her phone rings.

Kate: I have to take this.

She walks out of the room, Sonny looks back at Ari and smiles.

Downstairs in the dining room Victor sits at the table reading the business journal. Maggie walks in carrying a tray of hot tea.

Maggie: My the snow is coming down out there!
Victor: Yes, the weatherman got it right for a change.
Maggie: I called the pub and spoke to Roman, he said the salt trucks and plows are out so we should be able to make it fine later.
Victor: Good. We need to be there for Caroline and Ciara, especially with Hope in prison.
Maggie: I couldn't agree more.

In the study Nicole is on the phone with Nancy, Deimos walks in and pours a glass of water. She hangs up, they look at each other.

Deimos: How's Chloe and the baby?
Nicole: No change with Chloe, but the baby is doing great.
Deimos: I'm sorry to hear that about Chloe, but at least her parents are there now.
Nicole: Yes, Nancy said Craig's been making sure they're getting the best care.
Deimos: Good.
Nicole: I want to stop by the hospital before we go to the pub.
Deimos: We?
Nicole: Oh come on Deimos, it's Christmas Eve!
Deimos: Right, which is why I thought we'd spend a special evening right here.

She puts her arms around him, they kiss.

Nicole: Pleeeease? For me?

He smiles.

Deimos: Okay, for you.
Nicole: Great! I need to take a shower.

They kiss again, she walks out of the room. He takes a drink of the water and sits the glass down.

Deimos: We'll enjoy Christmas Nicole, but afterwards I will find out if the baby is yours.

Upstairs in the hall Kate hangs up her phone, Chad told her about Andre's resignation and going to Italy.

Kate: Just what are you up to Andre?

(Private Jet)

Andre pulls the cork out of a champagne bottle and pours a glass. A beautiful blonde escort walks in wearing Christmas colored lingerie. He grins and raises the glass towards her.

Andre: A Merry Christmas indeed!

(Highway Rest Area)

Sami walks out of the rest area building, the snow still coming down. Lucas and Brandon hurry towards her, both are covered white.

Lucas: It won't budge, the tire just spins!
Brandon: We've tried everything.
Sami: Oh I don't believe this! Just miles from Salem and the van slides off the road!
Brandon: It could've been worse.
Lucas: Right, at least it was in front of this rest area with a heated lobby.
Sami: True.

She takes her phone out, still no signal in the area.

Sami: You two go inside and warm up, I'm gonna walk down the sidewalk and see if I can get a signal.
Lucas: Be careful, watch the ice.

They go inside, she starts to walk. Headlights suddenly beam followed by a loud scraping sound, she spins around surprised. A plow truck comes to a stop beside her, the passenger side door opens. Her eyes go wide when she sees who it is.

The Christmas Eve celebration has started. Abe, Valerie and Roman sit at a table, Ari sits on Roman's knee coloring.

Roman: Did you color a Christmas tree?!

She smiles and nods.

Roman: Well, I think that's the most beautiful tree I've ever seen! What do you guys think?
Valerie: Very pretty!
Abe: Absolutely!
Roman: Tell you what, why don't you go hang it with the other decorations.
Valerie: Yes, I'll help you.

They walk off, Roman looks at Abe.

Roman: I haven't seen you smile like this in a long time pard.

He lets out a laugh and shakes his head.

Abe: Well, Valerie being back in my life has a lot to do with it.
Roman: You don't say?
Abe: But I feel good, not so empty inside anymore.
Roman: Since Lexie?
Abe: Don't get me wrong, my children are most important and without Theo I don't know what would have happened after Lexie passed.
Roman: I know exactly what you mean.
Abe: But speaking of Theo, I am a little worried. He hasn't adapted well to Valerie being in my life.

They both look at him, he and Claire are sitting at a table in the back listening to music.

Claire: So what do you think?

He takes the ear phone out and smiles.

Theo: It's great! When did you record it?
Claire: Last night when everyone was out shopping.
Theo: It sounds really cool with the keyboard. I can't wait to hear you sing it!

She smiles, they kiss. Ciara comes down the stairs, she sees them and stops. Victor walks up.

Victor: Merry Christmas dear.
Ciara: Grandpa Victor!

They smile and hug.

Victor: I was wondering where you were.
Ciara: I was helping Grandma Caroline but Maggie and Julie came up.
Victor: Your Grandma's lucky to have such a wonderful family. I know your dad was very proud of you.

Nicole pours two glasses of eggnog, she puts a little rum in one. Brady walks up behind her.

Brady: Let me guess, that one is for Deimos.
Nicole: Brady hey, and yes it is.
Brady: I don't want to disrupt any Christmas spirit here, but was it really a good idea for him to come here after his involvement with Bo?

They both look at him sitting alone at a table in the back.

Nicole: Well, I actually had to convince him to come, and if Victor can forgive him why can't anyone?
Brady: Look I'm sorry, it's just a sensitive issue. But it'd probably be best to keep him in the back.
Nicole: Yes, and he told me the same thing.

She walks back to Deimos, he sits down with John, Marlena, Belle, and Paul. John is holding Tate and laughing.

John: I remember holding Brady just like this!
Marlena: We are so blessed to have such wonderful children.

They look at Brady and Belle, everyone smiles. She reaches over and squeezes Paul's hand.

Marlena: Including those that came into our lives later.
John: That's a fact! I'm so proud of you all!

Chad, Gabi and Kate sit at table, Chad is holding Thomas.

Gabi: Thank you so much for bringing Ari from Sonny's.
Kate: It was my pleasure. Besides, it's not often I get to take a ride with my great granddaughter.

Ari runs up and grabs her hand.

Gabi: I think she wants to show me the decorations.

They walk off, Chad and Kate look at each other.

Chad: So I take it Andre hasn't answered your calls either?
Kate: Not one.
Chad: Well, he sent his signed resignation, I suppose I will file it.

Back in the kitchen Steve, Kayla, Jennifer and Joey are getting dessert trays ready.

Jennifer: So how is Adrienne? I've been meaning to stop by and see her.
Steve: Facing the treatments like a champ, but still a little weak today.
Jennifer: Is she and Justin coming?
Kayla: I called earlier, Justin said her doctor recommended more bed rest.
Jennifer: Oh, that's too bad.
Steve: But if I know Justin and Sonny, I'm sure they have something special up their sleeves for her.

They all smile, Joey's phone starts to ring.

Joey: It's Jade, I'd better take it.

He walks out, Kayla and Steve look at each other. Back out front Doug pours a scotch, Victor walks up.

Victor: Mind if I join you?
Doug: Not at all!

Doug pours him one, they pick up the glasses.

Doug: To us old timers!
Victor: Yes, the wisest men of all!
Doug: I'll drink to that!

They tap glasses and take a drink. Jennifer walks out with a tray and sits it on a table. She notices Eve standing alone looking at the Christmas tree, she walks over.

Jennifer: Such a lovely tree isn't it?

Eve smiles and shakes her head.

Eve: Very much. Paige always loved this time of year.

They both tear up and hug. The door opens, Shawn and Rafe walk in.

Roman: Hey! There they are!

Shawn walks over to Belle and Claire, he hugs and kisses them both. Rafe hugs Gabi and kisses Ari. Roman walks up.

Roman: Anything new?
Rafe: Nothing. We'll just have to go back to the drawing board tomorrow.
Roman: Hey, you both gave it a damn good shot.
Rafe: Maybe so, but it still doesn't change the fact that Hope's spending Christmas behind bars.

Steve, Kayla and Joey bring the rest of the dessert trays out, Caroline, Maggie and Julie come down with the hot food.

John: Something sure smells good!

Caroline steps behind the counter and turns on the stereo, Jingle Bell Rock starts to play.

Caroline: Okay everyone, dig in!

(Kiriakis Mansion)

Justin puts the last ornament on the tree, Adrienne lays in the bed smiling.

Adrienne: I can't believe you put up a tree in here just for me.
Justin: This is only the beginning.

There is a knock on the door, Justin opens it, the kitchen staff pushes carts of refreshments and drinks in.

Justin: Your favorite Christmas dishes!

The staff leaves and shuts the door.

Adrienne: Oh Justin, this is all so lovely!

There is another knock at the door, it opens and Sonny steps in.

Adrienne: Sonny?
Sonny: Sorry, I had to run an errand. But you won't believe who I found on the way back.

She looks at him confused, he steps aside, Joseph and Victor Jr. walk in.

Adrienne: Oh my god!

They rush over and hug her, Justin and Sonny watch smiling.

Laughter and good times is in the air as everyone walks around eating and mingling. Nicole walks up to Deimos who is still sitting.

Nicole: You're not going to eat anything?
Deimos: It's just not right, me being here.

She puts her hand on his shoulder.

Nicole: But I'm glad you're here.

He smiles.

Deimos: Then that's all I need to hear.

They kiss, but he suddenly pulls away.

Deimos: Did you hear that?

The sound of sleigh bells comes from outside and gets closer, everyone hears and turns around. "HO HO HO" a deep voice calls out. Santa Claus walks past the windows and opens the door, everyone smiles but looks around confused at the same time.

Santa: HO HO HO! Merry Christmas!

Ari smiles, Roman steps forward.

Roman: Well Merry Christmas to you to Santa!

Over by the counter Maggie looks at Caroline.

Maggie: You didn't tell me you hired a Santa?

Caroline shrugs.

Caroline: I didn't!

Everyone looks at him, still unsure of what to think.

Santa: Now I hope you good folks don't mind Santa stopping by, but I was on my way back to the North Pole to get the sleigh ready when I ran into some people in need!

The door opens again, Sami, Johnny, Allie and Sydney all walk in.

Marlena: OH MY GOD!

She runs over and hugs her, Roman hurries over and hugs all three of the kids. The door opens again, Lucas and Brandon walk in.

Nicole: That's my brother!
Abe: Brandon?!

They both hurry over and hug him. Jennifer walks up to Lucas with a confused look on her face.

Lucas: Hey sis! Merry Christmas!

She lets out a laugh and hugs him.

Jennifer: Would you mind telling me what's going on?
Lucas: Absolutely, but can it wait until tomorrow?
Jennifer: Um, sure?
Lucas: Trust me, let's just enjoy Christmas Eve right now.

Abe pats Brandon on the back, Nicole hugs him again.

Brandon: It's so great to see you both!
Abe: Why didn't you call?
Nicole: Yeah, and what are you doing with Sami?!

He smiles.

Brandon: I know everyone has a ton of questions, but can I get settled first?

Abe laughs.

Abe: Yes, absolutely.
Nicole: I'm sorry, we can talk later.

Deimos walks up and extends his hand to Brandon.

Deimos: So your the famous brother Nicole always speaks of?
Brandon: That's right, Brandon Walker.

They shake hands.

Brandon: And just so you know Nicole's told me all about you, including your past.
Deimos: Well, I'm glad we have that out of the way.
Brandon: But, I also believe in second chances.

They shake hands again.

Brandon: Treat my sister right.
Deimos: You can count on it.

Everyone has hugged Sami and the kids.

Marlena: Oh what a Christmas miracle!
Sami: And they aren't over yet!

The door opens again, Hope walks in smiling.

Ciara: MOMMY!

She runs up to her, they both hug with tears in their eyes.

Hope: Oh my little girl! Mommies here!

Rafe and Shawn hurry over, everyone else looks on in shock.

Rafe: Oh my god! What happened?! How is this possible?!

She kisses him, they hug. Shawn and Roman walk over to Sami.

Roman: Sami! What the hell is going on here?!
Shawn: How is my mom here and what was she doing with you?!
Sami: Dad, Shawn, I'm going to tell you guys everything. But can it wait until tomorrow?

They look at each other.

Roman: Fine Sami, but we are discussing this tomorrow!

She looks down.

Roman: But in the meantime, damn its good to have you home!

She smiles, they hug again. The sleigh bells ring, everyone looks at Santa.

Santa: Folks! As much as I would like to stay, I must be getting back for my sleigh!

Lucas walks over to Brandon.

Lucas: I didn't want to say anything in the truck, but isn't it strange that a Santa Claus was driving a snow plow?
Brandon: He's probably a state worker that was called out for the blizzard. Maybe he's wearing the suit because it's Christmas Eve.

Everyone says goodbye, Santa puts his hand in the air.

Santa: HO HO HO! Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!

He goes out the door, the sleigh bells ringing as he walks past the windows and out of sight.

Sami: Oh! I meant to give him something for his trouble!

She gets money out of her purse and hurries out the door after him.

Sami: Sir?! Santa?!

She stops at the parking lot, there is no sign of Santa or the plow truck. "Mommy" a voice says behind her. She turns around to see Sydney.

Sami: Honey!

She picks her up and kisses her on the forehead.

Sami: What are you doing out here?! Let's get back inside.

A few minutes later Claire gets on the keyboard and starts singing a touching version of Silent Night. Everyone stands, hugging their loved ones and smiling. At the counter Doug and Julie sit on stools holding hands, they look at each other misty eyed. They look at the memorial, the faces of Tom, Alice, Addie, Mickey, Shawn Sr, Isabella, Bo, Jack, Lexie, Will, Zack, Arianna and Paige all smiling.

Julie: May the blessings of Christmas always be with us, for all the days of our lives.
