Thank you, it's been a blast!

I didn't know where to put this. So mods, if you feel this thread needs to be moved, thank you for doing it for me.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for the fun I've had on it, since I joined in 2011. My, how time flies!

But lately, I have not been enjoying Days of our Lives like I used to. Most of you here know that it is by watching Days for more than thirty years that I learned English. I got hooked in the 80's, and in my opinion, Days was much better then... But to get back on topic, I said, a little while back, that I had stopped watching and that I would not post anymore. But old habits die hard, so I did catch glimpses of the show now on then and I did continue commenting after reading the summaries (thank you again for those) or going through the spoilers thread.

Anyway, all this to say, this time, I have really decided to step back, to take time for other things in my life, that I will enjoy much more than watching Days. And maybe it is because I don't enjoy the show like I used to, that some of my latest posts were perceived as personal attacks on other posters. Again, I can assure you, I never intended to attack or disrespect anyone. I am sorry, though, that some may have felt it was not the case.

I have said in my last response that to me, a soap is not worth fighting for. It is also not worth having anyone's feelings hurt, whether they are mine or anyone else's. Again, I am sorry if I appeared harsh. I absolutely did not mean to.

So thank you all again, and may you continue to have fun, either by watching Days of our Lives, commenting on it, or doing anything else that makes you happy.

Writer, I'm so sorry you feel this way and with reference to your post, in my opinion it did not come across as an attack or disrespectful. In fact, I have never known your posts to be ill willed ever. I think sometimes like texting or anything written everyone's interpretation/perception can be taken in different ways and that can all change if something was read in a negative tone or positive tone. That is what is difficult is you cannot interpret tone.

At any rate, I will miss your posts and humour and here is my prediction. You are pulling a Louise Sorel (Vivian Alamain) by stating you'll never come back but hope to see or read on here again.

I am sad to hear you are leaving us. I have always enjoyed your comments. I hope that perhaps after a bit of a break you will find yourself drifting back our way. Wishing you all the best in whatever direction life takes you.

I haven't actively watched the show in years, but I check this board several times a day and enjoy every minute of it.

TheWriter, please check in every once in a while so you can at least retrieve your Private Messages. I enjoy "talking" with you.

I understand your feelings, Writer, and agree with you about the show. I loved it in the 80s, and while I stopped watching while I was in college and then working, I popped in occassionally and kept up with the show until I started watching on a regular basis again in 2009, but the show has never been as much fun as it used to be, and it seems to get worse every year.

I started watching the show with my mother as a teenager, and since I moved back home with her in 2012, we watch the show together and it is something to bond over. Even when the show is bad, it's been fun to snark over. I also found a renewed interest in the show when I joined this message board and started to join in the conversations. Because I found a group of people with the same interest.

I hope you will at least consider checking in here once in awhile. You will be missed.

You will be sorely missed, TheWriter. I understand your feelings on the show---although I have renewed hope with the new writers, I agree that it hasn't been as good the past few years. But I do hope that you can pop back in a few times every now and then, despite your break. I know many of us would be happy to see you. Also, maybe you'll like some of the newer storylines that are coming up.
