Good morning,,,,yes, tis snowing again in the northland. I thought perhaps it was going to start later today, but it began in the early a.m. hrs. tho some may have come down last night. I have a couple errands in town, so, we will see how it goes. I won't go out if not plowed......the high ways, I mean.

While some think this is just great, snow does keep you inside, as well as the cold. LOL

Enjoy your day, my friends.

Mandy, is Gena feeling a bit better now? OC, I know things are so difficult for you right now, and do pray that all turns out well. Just know that YOU have to be healthy and o.k.

This is a hectic time for many, so please, try to rest, rest, rest as much as possible.

Morning Everyone,

Poirot - be safe in the snow. It started snowing here about 3 in the morning we have an inch and a half already and more is falling.

JS - Thanks for the tip. I've tried the Aldi brand for myself and they are quite good. I'll have to get some for Gena. :)

Gena is starting to feel better, her belly is softer, her bottom is no longer sore, and she's getting back to being her silly happy self. I can tell she's still not 100% better, but she's come a long way in only a day. I'm so relieved, and I truly feel like the weight of the world has left my shoulders.

She struggled a bit trying to drink all of her water yesterday (the doctor wants her to drink a minimum of 64 ounces per day), as hubby didn't really work towards getting her to drink fluids yesterday. I managed to get her to drink about 42 ounces once I got home from work, between water, apple juice, soup broth and Popsicles. I told him he needs to be more creative. She needs clear fluids not water, so Koolaid, juice, broth, even ice cubes would work. I was tickled pink to find her working on her writing and math homework when I got home.

Poirot - with Gena being on the mend and my stress level being reduced, I feel so much better than I did even yesterday, mentally and physically. It's scary sometimes how much our mental health can play into physical symptoms.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning everyone. It is a winter wonderland here, too.

I had to go out to clean off the car at 5:20. Then had to clean it again at 6:30. It took me 10 minutes to make the 3 minute drive to work. The temp is still falling. It was 18*F with a wind chill factor of 0*F when I left for work. It is now at 15*F with a wind chill factor of - 8*F. I'm glad I'm in the office all day. I was supposed to go to the little senior center in the old bank in my northern county, but they were bombarded with snow, and will have 20 inches of the white stuff by this afternoon. That's from the storm that Poirot had along with more moisture it picked up as it came across Lake Erie.

The dinner with our monthly group is cancelled for tonight. The heaviest of the snow is supposed to start here around 3:00 with blizzard conditions around 7:00. Nope, not going out.

More meetings this morning about finding solutions for mutual clients across all of our specialized services departments. I couldn't complain...I'm the one who asked for the meetings. I needed input from the others as far as how we were going to address those needs since they had to sign off on what I wanted to do. I got a big thumbs up from the low vision specialist and my vice president. Casework is bringing the people in today so I can get their orders to the lab before I leave tomorrow for my Christmas time off.

Poirot - I know you'll play it safe no matter whether you decide to go out or stay home.

JS - I've looked at the Aldi ones, but was afraid they'd taste awful. I'll check them out. As long as they don't have nuts , I'll give them a try, too.

Amanda - It is good to hear that Gena is feeling better. Hopefully, you both were able to get some sleep.
After my heart surgery, my doc had me drink warmed up prune juice with sugar. (The sugar made it taste ok.) That sure did the trick ! Plus he counted it toward my clear fluid intake along with my tea and broths.

Oh, he also counted jello dissolved in 2 cups of hot water, and drink it while still hot. (no cold water to make it set)

A. Guy - Did your son get everything straightened out with AT&T? Was it identity theft or did the employee punch in the wrong number? Either way , AT&T should take the appropriate actions to rectify the situation to his satisfaction.

OC - Sending up prayers that this is a good day for your husband. That would also take some of the pressure off you even if just for a bit.

Boy, y'all are gonna make Noel really miss home with your cooler/cold weather. A balmy 75 here today. I'm digging it. Wish I could be out in it, but alas, that won't be happening till later.

Thank goodness the election is over in Alabama. So tired of hearing about it. Please, can we move on? Please?

I went through my gifts and one was shipped but hasn't arrived yet. So will spend some time tracking it down. It's a minor thing, and I can send it if it arrives after the holiday, but hoping that isn't the case.

Off to the wonderful world of customer support where the customers don't always answer your questions, but want you to fix the problem for them. It's broke, fix it. What is broken? The part with the teachers? How is it broken? Just fix it. :)

Me, jealous? A definite no from me. I love my snow even if it doesn't like me sometimes. Though I'd be happy with winter temps in the 20s.

Good luck with those customers, robinsnest. Even with our own tech guys, I tell them what exactly is or is not happening, how many times I've signed on and off, rebooted, unplugged and plugged in cables, etc.

Stayin' home for sure. I ventured out, in car, to get the mail, which I had not picked up for a couple days (it is about a block & half from my house, one of those multi box units, everyone has a key to their own...sure is easy on the mail person) . And that was enough for me. Still snowing, it comes down heavy, then lightens up a bit, but windy. Anyway, with road not plowed yet, difficult to see the road itself. We had the below zero temps Mon. nite....right now is 21, but that wind and blowing snow....yuk. Anyway, came right back home, driving very, very slow. LOL

Glad Gena is doing better, so good to hear.

When I say grey skies........well....where the heck did the sun go? LOL

Hi everyone!

Who sent me this cold weather? Our high is 38 degrees and the sun is shining.

Manda, glad Gena is on the mend.

Rs, I think I’m getting the cold air from your snow.

Poirot, those temperatures are way too cold for me.

JS, I’m with you on never seeing cold weather again. I hate snow because people here lose their minds when it snows. Don’t try to but bread, milk, or toilet paper before a snow store unless getting mobbed is something you enjoy.:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Here in Northwestern Pennsylvania, we get less than 100 days a year with sunshine. (Most of us have to take D supplements.) I bet Poirot has even fewer days since she is father north and like us she is in a great lake state.

From the National Weather Service:

SKY CONDITION

The sky condition describes the predominant/average sky condition based on the

percentage of sky covered by opaque (not transparent) clouds.

Sky Condition Opaque Cloud Coverage

Cloudy/Overcast 88-100%

Mostly Cloudy/Considerable Cloudiness 70-87%

Partly Sunny/Mostly Cloudy 51-69%

Mostly Sunny/Partly Cloudy 26-50%

Sunny/Mostly Clear 6-25%

Sunny/Clear 0-5%

Good Morning.

Just a quick post on a very busy day!

Yes, I am absolutely jealous of the cold, wind, snow, snow, and more snow! If you like wearing shorts, t-shirts, and sandals all year then move here. Just remember no Spring rains, no midwestern flowers, no cool evenings/mornings in the summertime, and no autumn leaves!! Trust me, it is not worth it especially when we reach 123F!!!

Poirot: you are a wise woman to return home from the mail box and snuggle up 'for a warm winter's night'! Glad you are safe at home.

JS: Fiber One - check. I need to try those for us because so many options have chocolate in them. Thanks for the tip.

Manda: best news ever! Dancing in my shoes that Gena is feeling better in 24 hours!! And of course Momma can now relax a little and let that huge burden fall off her shoulders. You both deserve some relaxation and then fun once Gena is 100%.

Squirrel: smart woman to make those suggestions that were approved by the powers above you! Kudos! Glad you stayed in the office today and still like snow despite the driving hassles daily.

Robin: if you feel a gush of wind, I'm blowing this 75F heat over to your side of town! It is ruining my time to wear Arizona winter clothing! Who can wear layers in this heat?! You can gladly keep it all year!!

OC: thinking and praying for you, your husband and children as you adjust to whatever choices you have had to make to care for him. Hugs.

My break is over --- make it the best day possible!

Still snowing and blowing, I found my cheapie camera can take pics, so I took a couple of the snow piled on the wrought iron patio table....but do not have the slightest idea how the heck to get it from my camera to here. LOL. As I said, cheapie, very small camera.

Still snowing here also. If I can sneak away to a window I'll take pictures for you all, but I'm so busy at work it's crazy. If nothing else, I'll have some photos for you tomorrow.

Sorry to say a sunny day here. Close to 60. If anyone can send me snow,
I would like some here.

I was disappointed I didn't get the bookcase done at the library today.
I had to finish labeling the bags from yesterday before I started entering
on computer. I did get over 20 bags entered.

Poirot, stay safe in the nasty weather where you are.

manda, I'm glad you and Gena are both better.

rs, I'm glad you don't have to drive around for work today. I hope you won't
have to drive tomorrow either.

OC and kt, I hope both of you are doing well in your situations.

I hope everyone has good afternoon and evening.

KT: well then it may be some time before a new buyer makes an offer. I am glad you are 'home' through Christmas and have the comfort of routine. Hoping 2018 brings you better blessings. Enjoy the meteor display in the heavens tonight.

kt, that's interesting about the buyer. I hope this will give you enough time
to find the perfect place. Enjoy the light show tonight.
