Julian has really been holding his own, even learning ABC song!

However....

Julian came down with the flu on Saturday. He then started having some strange facial jerks on Sunday. His neurologist is out of the country so his mother took him to the pediatrician yesterday (Monday). The pediatrician felt they were probably seizures and they got an appointment for an EEG with the neurologists office next Monday.

The pediatrician prescribed Tamiflu for the entire family to try to ward off the rest of the family from getting the flu and to hopefully shorten Julian’s time with it. Last night at 9:30pm Julian had a full on seizure - where his body was jerking all over and he was disoriented and confused and crying but did not lose consciousness. His mother is going to call the doctors this morning to update them and see if they have any recommendations.

Please, please say a prayer, or 2 for this poor little boy. His baby brother was born on his birthday, which they just celebrated. Julian turned 5, his brother is 1.
 
It has been very dangerous for him to get sick, when he was a little baby, they could not take him anywhere, for fear of catching something. As he grew, things got better, this is really a setback for him, he has not had seizures for a while now.
 
Thank you, Poirot, for this update about Julian so we have the privilege of upholding him [and family] in our prayers. The video is so sweet and Julian is making great progress. So sorry he is suffering now with this very strong flu strain. Hugs. :hug:

Poirot - This may be of NO interest for you, but I have had many experiences with children and seizures and have found there are several strains of cannibus that are high in CBD and have very positive results for reducing - and sometimes eliminating seizures. You might want to look into that as an alternative/adjunct.
 
UPDATE...His mom took Julian back to the pediatrician yesterday (Tuesday) because of the serious seizure on Monday night. He conferred with the neurologists office (since Julian’s neurologist is still out of the country) and they will do the EEG on Monday. They cannot do the EEG if he still has the flu, so they feel that should be enough time to get rid of it… and at the same time Julian’s neurologist will be there to weigh in on things. Even if he starts to feel better they cannot send him back to school this week. They also advised to postpone the boys' birthday party that was supposed to be this Saturday (Their birthdays are tomorrow, the 8th). They don’t want to add any stress, any more germs and want to make sure Julian's parents can have him in their sights at all times.
