Hard at times to tell if a character if really "gone" for good, or just being "rested". However, I think many of us would like to see a lot less or a few, and more of others. Doesn't help us when actors have decided they are done with acting, or just done with Days, thus there is not getting a certain character back, if played by a particular actor.
That said.........I definitely do NOT WANT to see any actor who has played a character for years, now playing another........and yes, lookin' at Gwen & Theresa, Jake & Stefan.......writers have to stop killing off well liked characters, played by good actors, then trying to keep the actors by inventing more characters.
Yes, many of the fav characters are known mostly by actors who have aged over the years, just as we all have done. Why can't their offspring carry on? Heck, there are plenty of them.
Kate has Austin & Billie Reed, Lucas, Rex & Cassie, plus they could have kids as well. There is Parker, son of Chloe & Philip (finally admitted by Chloe that Daniel was not the daddy)
Then there is Johnny & Allie, Sami's children, twins born with different fathers. Oh, Days does love to play games, don't they? (Her adopted daughter, Grace died as a baby) Holly is daughter of Nicole, while Lucas fathered Will & Allie. And then we have Theresa pregnant with Brady's child, but Kristen manages to steal the embryo, carry and deliver Tate to us all. Such drama!
But there are plenty of offspring to take up the adventures that had us enthralled by John, Marlena, Roman. Kate, Steve , Kayla, etc.
