Paulina is meeting Trask, who is trying to suck up to her. Trask gets fired. Trask talks about how she is good at her job, Paulina shouts at her for everything she has done, blah blah blah. Trask says she is getting close to Li Shin, can nail him for Paulina. Paulina agrees, Melinda calls Li inviting him to dinner. Later, they're meeting over martinis in the Square, Melinda is so happy to see him. Li wants to call everything off, confusing her, he pulls his phone out and plays the recording of her saying she can nail Li Shin. Melinda is shocked.
Li reveals he bugged the teddy bear he gave her, they played each other. Both are upset, clearly more than about the situation, as Li says it is over and he had his insurance policy, leaves. Melinda texts Sloan that she got dumped, Paulina shows up and asks how was the dinner? Melinda says that the dinner didn't go as planned, which Paulina figured. She tells Melinda to pack up her office and leave. Elsewhere, Kate and Marlena meet at the Pub, Marlena learns Eric moved out, they chat about the wedding.
EJ arrives home late and grabs a drink, a showing Nicole explains that cook kept his plate warm for dinner. EJ tells her about firing Wendy, and why he did it. EJ recaps for a confused Nicole, talks about hearing that Susan is still alive, Nicole thinks it's incredible but EJ doesn't buy a word of it. Nicole tries convincing EJ that Ava could be right, EJ thinks Ava is wrong, his mom would send him a sign if she was still alive.
Suddenly the power goes out, and Nicole gives him a telling look. EJ lights candles, keeps denying that this is a sign from Susan. They are having dinner, EJ is still denying this has anything to do with his mom and must look for Wendy's replacement. The power comes on just as EJ predicts it will, gets a call from the electric company saying a car crashed into a pole nearby, says Ava is the only liar in this scenario.
Eric and Sloan talk as they move in together. They talk weddings, they don't want to marry in the pub, he tells her about his history with Sarah and how she's marrying Rex in the pub today, just as he did with Nicole. She wants to marry somewhere totally new, especially for the adoption agency. Can Belle represent them? Eric doubts it's a good idea, Sloan thinks Belle hates her.
Eric explains that Belle is dealing with a lot, they maybe can start looking for lawyers tonight. She's surprised he wants to move so soon and asks if he really wants adoption? Eric says it was her idea, he wants to be a father regardless of DNA. Sloan gets Trask's text, they discuss their friendship. Sloan wants to go check on her friend, they're excited about the adoption.
Trask is packing her office up and yells at the teddy bear about why Gabi dumped him: because Li sucks! Sloan comes into the office as Trask updates her. Sloan asks for her to help her and Eric adopt a child, be their adoption lawyer. Back home, Eric stumbles upon a photo of him and Nicole as Marlena knocks on the door, tells him Kate updated her. Eric has been so busy and forgot to tell her, welcomes her in. Marlena is happy if he is happy, he is after the rough patch they recently went through. She hope it works out, sees the photo of him and Nicole.
Ava and Harris continue their chat from yesterday. It's boring and meaningless and nothing really new. Harris explains there's no Edmund P. Crumb in London. Then he finds one and his address, and they decide to get going. They arrive in the middle of the night at Crumb's apartment, ring the doorbell. The man inside isn't happy to have visitors at this hour, but Harris says they have questions about Susan Banks.
Inside, the man says Susan was a sweet soul gone too soon. They explain that Susan may be still alive. The man is flabbergasted as they explain they think she's reaching out to them from yonder, they say they got a "crumb clue". (Yes, folks, this is how low the show has sunk.) The man claims Susan is in his closet, Ava and Harris feel dizzy as the man tells them he poisoned their tea. Later, Susan comes out in her pajamas and brushing her teeth, chained up by the ankle, asks what the man is doing as she sees the unconscious Ava and Harris.
