I watched the birdwatcher scenes again this evening before DWTS. The boot was Kate stepping on Sami's foot to shut her up.

The thing I noticed about the birdwatcher is that he seemed very eager to grab Nick's backpack from Gabi's arms. He asked the ladies to escort him to Horton Town Square and then tried to grab the backpack. That is when Sami brought up the fake bird name. But if he just needed an escort, why would he need to carry a rather small backpack that didn't look very heavy? With all the close-ups of this bag, I'm betting something important is inside.

Good catch! Nicole will need a photographer to accompany her on her new reporter career! He will need to pick up a modern camera...


I absolutely couldn't believe the racket the killer and her two accessories were making; I was yelling at the TV! Sami did come up with some great verbal hits on Gabi, though.
 
I'm with you Heather4CU. Something is definitely up with that bag. Earlier that day when Nick met Hope at the club to tell her he was moving to New York, the camera panned in on that bag and Nick's initials on the leather strap. And Hope specifically mentioned getting Nick that bag as a gift. I also think this birdwatcher is no birdwatcher.
 
Just an aside here. The birdwatcher offered to "escort the 3 lovely ladies" back to Horton Square. He was going to escort THEM. That is why he then offered to carry the bag.

Since Nick is such a genius. maybe he is from some rival cosmetics company looking for a new formula or something. Remember Nick pulled that flashdrive out of his bag and gave it to Kate.

What I remember was EJ overhearing her on the phone talking about getting another drug so Eric won't remember again. Then when she mentioned Chyka's name he laughed about her using one of Stefano's people that isn't reliable, being Chyka. Later on he said something about drugging Eric but it was left vague about whether he referred to the first time or what she was on the phone about. I can't remember it being shown that EJ does factually know the details but have missed some days here & there.

I loved today's show and certainly didn't anticipate THAT ENDING! It kinda reminded me of the shocking ending at the graveside in the movie 'Carrie'!

Now, if for no other reason than to come to his sister's 'rescue', Rafe should be flying out of that hospital with Jordan in tow!

Are spoilers ok to be posted in daily summaries now? There seems to be a good amount today. People wanting to avoid spoilers wouldn't want to know & wouldn't know about lookalikes or future returns. :)

Finally got caught up. What a good episode!

I figure Kate didn't say anything to Rafe when he called since he couldn't do much about it.

Sami was quick on her feet to come up with the dinosaur name. Kate's reaction & face was funny.

I don't blame Eric. That recorder just came out of left field.

Caroline must've had an Alzheimer moment. She knows firsthand that Victor isn't always family first.

According to a post of Jason's on the Daytime Royalty site, the bird watcher, played by Ian Patrick Williams, will be airing into 2014. Something is definitely afoot! Could Nick have staged all of this?

OMG if the birdwatcher is supposed to return in 2014 and if Nick staged this. It's perfect. By the time the Birdwatcher coming into the scene Nick would've been in the middle of raping Gabi, perhaps he would've been the one to "save" her so it looks like Nick takes off only to try and kidnap her again. Spectulation of mine Nick didn't plan to be hit on the head or thrown in the river, so if he did plan this set up the Birdwatcher may act as a witness against Kate/Sami/Gabi.
 
Interesting that Percy the birdwatcher is the same actor who played Mimi's father. :eek:

I don't think rape has been said by any of the three because there was no rape or attempted rape. It could've gone that way & Gabi could've been scared of that, but she knocked him out beforehand. It would be sexual assault, by what Nick was saying, or assault.
 
True Gabi never did say to Kate or Sami the Rape word, just that Nick was on top of her which only one can assume it would lead to somewhere else as he was force kissing her neck.
