It's a new day in Salem. Finally.

Kristen is drinking coffee in Horton Town Square. She's talking to someone on the phone about Rachel and getting supplies. Alex goes jogging by and she stops him. Kristen wants to know how things are at Titan? Alex says he's trying to keep it clean and mean. Kristen laughs and wonders how keeping it clean with Theresa is going, since she had a slip? She tells him Brady mentioned it. Alex is upset Brady said something. (Kristen is wearing a snake print top.)

Paulina is in bed sleeping. She wakes up and Abe is staring at her. He asks how she slept? She says after last night's activities she slept well. Abe wonders if they should do it again?

Clyde is sleeping. There's a buzzing sound. He pulls a cell phone from under his mattress. He tells the person no one has told him what was going on and it wasn't their decision to make. He tells the person he'll deal with them later, then hangs up. He's upset over what happened.

The police (lots of extras) are in a warehouse. A person is taking pictures of a body under a sheet. Three suspects are arrested. Male cop brings Goldman (female cop) some water. Harris and Jada walk in. Harris asks her how she's doing since she killed the person? She said it was the first time she discharged her weapon. She's turned in her gun to CSU. Harris says she can wait by her car with Phillips (male cop). They leave. Harris tells Jada this is really bad (the episode just started).

Harris is upset because they wanted the dealer alive. Jada leaves to check on Goldman. Rafe arrives. Harris is upset because the dealer had a direct connection to Clyde. Rafe says they got 7 kilos of drugs off the street. Harris is upset Goldman shot the dealer because Clyde would be off the street for good (actually he's in prison, not on the street). Chad and Everett arrive at the crime scene. Rafe is upset they are there because it is an active crime scene. He wants to know how they found out? Harris said he called them.

Harris said he wanted to postpone the Lucas story. Rafe isn't happy and wonders what Lucas story? Chad says Lucas told them everything. Harris said he told them about the bust to keep them off the other story. Rafe thinks Harris told them about Lucas. Chad says Lucas called him. Everett says they want to help keep drugs off the street. Everett pulls out a tape recorder for an interview. The bust was on Kingston Road. Rafe says they cut off the pipeline of the dangerous drugs, but so far don't know what they are. Rafe further talks about how a drug dealer was killed by a police officer. Interview over. Chad and Everett talk about their real work begins and leave.

Kristen and Alex spent too much time discussing Brady. Kristen tells Alex that Brady and Theresa will always be connected because of Tate. Also, they are connected because they are both former addicts. Alex asks Kristen if she's seeing anyone? She says she doesn't want to use dating apps. They discuss her getting back with Brady. Alex knows she still have feelings for Brady and she should go after him.

Kristen knows that will keep Brady from Theresa. Alex brings up Rachel and how she'll be happy if her parents are back together. Brady's hanging around Theresa a lot since the slip. They talk about how Brady and Theresa are more together since Tate was arrested and sent away. Kristen says she will help him, and there will always be a place for Brady in her heart (is there a place for John too?) They agree to work together and stay in contact.

Jada is questioning Phillips back inside the warehouse. She wants him to tell her again what happened. Phillips said they got out of their vehicle and he saw a flash in his eye. Goldman ran down to it. Phillips heard two shots and found the suspect dead. He saw Goldman was shaken and he noted the location where the dealer's gun was on his report. Jada says to write his report so he won't forget. They leave the room to check on Goldman.

At the prison, Clyde walks into visiting room. Chad and Everett are waiting for him. Clyde wants to know who Chad brought with him? Clyde doesn't know Everett's name so he must be a recent hire at the paper. Chad tells Clyde he now owns the paper. Clyde tells Chad his dad Stefano was someone to reckon with, but Chad isn't.

Everett says Clyde must be in a bad mood since he's picking on Chad like that. Clyde doesn't understand. Everett tells him about the raid on Kingston. They tell him about much drugs and money were taken. Clyde tries to control himself, then his phone starts to buzz. Then it dings. Chad and Everett realize Clyde has a contraband phone since they left theirs at the front desk. Chad tells Clyde he can check his messages, they won't tell anyone.

Rafe and Harris are back inside the warehouse. The three suspects are taken away. Rafe hopes they will talk so they can stay out of Statesville. Harris says their boss won't be happy. Rafe brings up how he's not happy he wasn't told about the agreement Harris made with the press. Harris didn't think there would be a hitch. Goldman was a decorated marksman in the academy. Rafe says that's different than being in uniform. Rafe says she can't be back in uniform until she talks to the police shrink. Rafe isn't sure what the fallout will be when article goes to press.

Abe and Paulina stay in bed and talk. They discuss how Abe can't remember, but they are making new memories. Paulina tells him Chanel and Johnny are getting married on Valentine's Day. She starts writing an engagement announcement on her phone to put in the paper. She mentions the geocaching is also being done on Valentine's Day. Later, Paulina mentions she needs to find a mother of the bride dress and wants Abe to go with her. The phone rings. It's University Hospital.

Goldman and Jada are in the warehouse room. Goldman says she's fine. Jada tells her she wasn't after her first shooting. It was a domestic violence case. It was at a workplace. Jada thought it would be ok, but the man pulled out gun and fired. Jada says it was the first time she discharged her gun. She remembers the smoke and blood. Goldman says that's all she can see is the blood. Phillips walks in and says it was clean shooting. Rafe walks from other side of room and says she did the right thing. Goldman is teary eyed. Jada says she'll come out of this ok.

Chad and Everett discuss how Clyde isn't that tough and prison breaks some men. Everett says they want to hear his truth about being an innocent man. Clyde says he's been a model prisoner since he's been here (and he got to have a phone?). He mentions killing Chad's wife. He remembers her face and begging him to save her life. Chad jumps up to get him. Everett stops him. Clyde wants to know why they are here? Chad wanted to see his face when he knew his empire was crumbling. Chad goes on that he can't wait until Clyde loses his power and money and print it on the front page of his newspaper. Clyde smiles.

Paulina is on the phone asking questions. She hangs up and tells Abe her tumor has grown. Surgery will be at the end of the week. She says she's going to be fine and doesn't fear anything since she has him. Abe says they're get through it together since they are a team.

Alex tells Kristen she should be around Titan more often. She asks if he's hiring her? He tells her she can be on the executive team. She has the skill set and will be close to Brady. She'll think about it. Alex tells her she can do one thing now. Let Brady see Rachel more often and even have overnight visits. This will lead to more bonding with the family. They have the best motive happiness. His, hers, Brady's, Theresa's and especially Rachel's. They bump cups to happiness.

Everett says that they are done here. Clyde says it will be best if they forgot what they learned here today. Best for everyone. Chad asks if a threat? Clyde says a warning by a concerned citizen that would hate to have something to happen to people close to you in Salem. Everett reminds Clyde he could have made a statement. Chad says once we have the evidence of the tainted drugs and DA's stepdaughter in a coma, the justice system will make him pay with two life sentences. Clyde kisses at Chad and leaves the room. Chad tells Everett it's time to end this. Everett agrees.

Rafe, Harris and Goldman are in the warehouse room. Harris is upset since they were so close getting Weston. Harris asks Goldman to explain what happened. She stands up and says the suspect wouldn't stop when they commanded him to. She got shot at and returned fire since she didn't want to die. Harris said that's fine. You followed protocol. Rafe and Harris discuss that when Clyde finds out what happened, he's going make someone pay.

Who is the mole? Is it the male cop, Phillips? He came in twice after someone contacted Clyde. Is it the female cop, Goldman? Did she shoot the dealer to keep him quiet? Or are both of them working for Clyde?

Goldman said at the end the suspect went outside. He fired first and she shot him. Did the suspect run back inside and die or was it something else? Maybe something wrong in script?

LORDIE.... Kristen and Alex going on and on..... bout drove me up the wall......
I like that Paulina said her lump was growing it felt bigger to her and it was.... now have surgery.... and it's nice Abe will be with her....
I kept waiting for Clyde to trigger Chad.... took longer than I thought it would.... but he did....

Waiting for El Chapo (Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzaman) Clyde Weston to be brought down on these drug charges may be so anti climatic it won't register on the completed story list.... it will languish with the who killed Deimos and who was the black glove??

Thanks kat for staying awake through this hour...

Thank you, Kat!
Let's call today's episode "botox," since it was all filler.:rotfl:

Alex and Kristen must be sharing the Salem brain with their "flawless" plan to get closer to those they love.

How I hate Clyde. I wish Chad could shiv him and walk out without being a suspect.

Everett is going to be a target of Clyde's now. Just sayin'...

On the fence about the mole, but I agree that it is possible it is the new male cop. I don't think the female cop would shoot someone Clyde needed if she was part of it all.

Today was tedium mixed with some OMG moments.

Drama queen Paulina milking her soap opera health crisis for all it's worth. Does anyone doubt that she’ll make a typically rapid Salem recovery?

Foolish Alex capping a remarkably dull conversation with a job offer to the Kritter. Hasn’t he ever heard the one about the fox and the henhouse? In any case, the other employees will be thrilled by this news — not.

Chad, Everett, and his beard thinking they are working toward Clyde’s downfall. The Poplar Bluff pervert didn’t seem impressed. Maybe, the prison taking squirrel stew off the menu would get his attention.

The Salem cop being all upset about fatally shooting a Clyde drug flunky. This may apply in the real world, it won’t do in Salem. Bo and Hope never blinked an eye over shooting down evildoers.

Thanks for the summary. I want Paulina and Abe to have their storylines resolved quickly and happily so they can fade a bit into the background, if not altogether get a better storyline.

Alex and Kristen is a waste of time. Predictable nonsense.

The Clyde story is wash, rinse, repeat.
