40 minutes of recapping everything that has happened since Valentine’s Day

Steve reading the Spectator on his tablet, the news of Tripp and Wendy being saved. Kayla comes in. Steve didn’t sleep well last night, he wants to go see Tripp.

Hospital shot

Wendy remembering saying the vows to Tripp when he walks into her hospital room. Tripp has escaped from his room. Wendy got flowers from Ava; Tripp got a muffin. Tripp is jealous. He feels it’s his fault that they got trapped in the tank, and can’t live with himself if something happens to Wendy.

Chanel and Johnny arrive. They chat with Abe at the nurses' station about what happened the night before. Lani and Eli go to Paulina’s room, the bed is empty and they PANIC. Eli tells them to not panic, your dad would have told us if something happened. Sarah wheels in the totally healed Paulina. Paulina’s heart is fine, nothing short of a miracle per Sarah.

Tripp and Wendy talk about things that happened in the tank. If you are a fan of this couple this will be great.

Kayla wants to know how she was responsible for saving Tripp and Wendy? She was the one who insisted Steve knew CPR, and that he knew ASL as Wendy was signing the word for beer. Weston broke out of Statesville, Kayla tells him there was nothing to do about that. Steve continues, with Ava being involved with the drugs and Clyde, Konstantin trying to scam Maggie, Abe still having memory issues and Paulina needing a heart transplant. Kayla interrupts Steve’s litany of bad news, Paulina is not dying of heart failure. Sarah has called Kayla and told her that Paulina is fine. Things were rough last night but this morning things are better.

Paulina and family chat about how amazing her healing is. Paulina talks of Lani being free, Chanel can go on her honeymoon, there is yet one more thing to celebrate, Abraham finally has his memory back. Abe and Lani hug as Abe remembered that he really isn’t Lani’s biological father. Johnny is overcome with emotion.

Tripp and Wendy continue to chat when Sarah breaks in to this conversation, Sarah checks out Wendy.

Lani thought they’d have so much to celebrate when she got out of prison, then Eli’s family home burned to the ground, (well not really but it did burn) then mama got sick, then Lani was afraid this would not be a time to celebrate. Eli gets a call, they have to leave.

Steve and Kayla run into their anniversary buddies, Johnny and Chanel. They call them anniversary buddies. Steve and Kayla, who are holding flowers for Tripp and Wendy, tell Johnny and Chanel about Tripp and Wendy being held hostage. Chanel talks of mama’s recovery, Lani being freed, Abe’s memory returning, and Wendy and Tripp. Yesterday was a very special day.

Tripp has looked at Wendy’s chart and his own. They are doing well; their levels are stable and they are doing better than last night. Sarah and Kayla leave the room to talk about something Steve is in the room with Wendy and Tripp. Steve is angry about what Ava did. Tripp tries to explain Ava’s action. Steve is just finding out about Tripp’s prior knowledge of Ava’s drug involvement.

Abe and Paulina talk of telling people of Lexie’s appearance to heal both of them. Paulina mutters foolishness. Abe calls her a complicated amazing woman.

Eli is on the phone, he got good news, Eli is currently a part-time agent, now he can work with the DOJ, which is more money and more time with the twins. If he takes the job. But the job is in DC, Eli isn’t sure he wants to leave.

Tripp and Steve continue the Ava conversation. Steve isn’t angry with Tripp because he was a good son. Steve apologizes for breaking Tripp’s rib while doing CPR, a common occurrence when doing CPR correctly.

Paulina and Abe continue to talk about what happened last night. Having Abe’s memory back. Paulina thanks Lexie for all the future memories they will make.

Chanel and Johnny enter Tripp and Wendy’s room. Johnny is holding two boxes. Wendy talks of how rough the past few weeks have been. Wendy spies a wedding ring, Chanel tells of being married on Valentine’s Day in mama’s hospital room.

Paulina thanks Kayla and Steve for all that they have done for her and Abe. Abe tells Steve and Kayla that they will be losing their houseguest. Kayla is sorry to lose Abe as a roommate, they are thrilled that it is all working out.

Tripp and Wendy talk of another wedding. Then Wendy’s mom calls. Wendy’s trying to get Tripp to remember they were married. Her mom is angry she heard about the near-death experience on the news. Why didn’t Wendy call? Wendy says well time difference, aside.

Chanel has brought doughnuts for the staff (a single box of 12 doughnuts); Sarah takes the almond croissant. She offers the Horton cabin to Chanel and Johnny, and tells them it’s not a 5-star hotel but it’s private.

The babies were visiting Grandma (which we didn’t see). The twins are at the park with Grandma Julie now. Lani breaks the news that she and Eli are moving to DC for the job offer. It’s a great job. Paulina doesn’t want them to go. But they have to do what’s right for their family. As long as they have a guest room.

Tripp and Wendy talk about how everyone keeps interrupting them. Wendy wants to talk about not talking about their wedding vows. Tripp drags it out of her, she wants to know if he really proposed to her last night?

Back in Paulina’s room Sarah comes in, Paulina wants to go home today. But first Paulina needs to talk to her oncologist first.

Steve is on the phone leaving a message for John. He is upset Weston has escaped and is going after Weston. Kayla wonders why it’s so personal? At least I think that’s what she’s thinking.

If you have missed a lot of episodes the past month or so.........this is THE episode to watch! As Robin noted, everything that went on in Salem for the last month is nicely recapped for us all, have to say, the writers did well with the narratives.

Am thinking that maybe tomorrow will get moving in other areas of Salem. Like perhaps Tate, Stefan, Nicole, Holly, Roman, Theresa, Leo, John, Kate, Marlena, ...........maybe we'll get a return for a pop up visit.....who knows? Hopefully, the beginning of few new storylines....

O.K. admit that the solution to Paulina's grave illness proved beyond the writers' imaginations, so we got "a miracle" cure. Guess the fired guy maybe wrote the show into a bad place, so this was the best "fix". No problem, we already dealt with devil taking over people's minds and bodies, time to give the other side (heaven) a shot! :)

a resolved kidnapping in Salem, IL, US is televised news in China?
This made me laugh out loud. I never thought of how implausible this is. I guess my implausible meter was full.
this is THE episode to watch
I'm still thinking there shouldn't be episodes like this. They should make us want to watch everyday. And since we can go back and watch something we missed, recap episodes seem like a waste. Perhaps this will change with the new EP and ghost headwriter.

Thanks, robin.

It's a new day in Salem.

Bummer we didn't get to see the Carver or Jules this time.

Bummer we didn't see Eli with Julie.

Bummer Eli, Lani and the kids won't be staying in Salem.

Finally, we see Kayla again.

Interesting Abe and Paulina won't talk about angel Lexie to anyone. It's Salem. Things
like that happen all the time.

Once upon a time, years ago, we had a big satellite dish in the yard. At the time, we could only get one station clear on local TV, another very blurry. Anyway, this gave us clear TV, and all 3 networks. It was on a pole about 12 ft. high and we were in 7th heaven........cuz it also gave us TV from Canada, and probably would have done so elsewhere if we moved it into a different direction. Heck, we sold that home by the lake, that pole & satellite are still there, no idea if present owner makes use or not.

What I am getting at is that it is possible Wendy's parents have something like that set up, so they can get news from places other than China......programs as well. Not claiming they do......just an idea as to how they could get news of their daughter on their TV???

Back when we had the huge satellite.......we could get New York, Los Angeles, and it did not cost anything. However, eventually, along came cable, the stations were all scrambled unless you paid, so...we went to DirectTV, was not all that happy with it. Thus, when we finally moved into town, we got DISH. I do tend to rattle on, don't I? Sorry..........
