In order for me to achieve that big hair look, I had to get a perm. It was bigger than my head! Then I piled on black eyeliner on top and bottom and had to have shoulder pads, of course. Oh, let's not forget glitter eye shadow. When I look back at the fashion of any given year, I cringe! WHAT were we THINKING?

The higher the hair, the closer you are to God. Or at least that’s what people joked in Texas. Living here in the ‘80s, I’m very familiar with these looks. My high school yearbook was a buffet of giant, frozen bangs, and I graduated in ‘93.
