Bo arrested Max and discovered what he had done to Billie. He found her and promised to help her. Jennifer visited Jack in jail and said she would find a way to get him out soon. John got unexpected help from Lexie when she revealed where Abe kept the security code to Stefano's cell, but both of them lost Abe's trust when he discovered John breaking into his computer. Abe reluctantly agreed to look the other way and let John break Stefano out. Sami's wedding was delayed after Eric told Roman that something was going on, and Roman faked a fall in the church to give Eric time to investigate. Carrie and Mike returned from Los Angeles. Carrie learned that Austin had gotten the annulment, but was marrying Sami, anyway, due to a twisted sense of obligation. Eric and Carrie's last-minute investigation led them to the hospital, where they asked Mike, who had confessed his love for Carrie to Laura, to help them stop the wedding for good.

Victor, Brandon and Faye kept vigil at the hospital praying for Nicole to come out of her coma, while Sami's conscience wisely steered her away from misguided thoughts of "pulling the plug" on Nicole to keep her from telling Victor why they were at the Salem Inn. Bo and Billie explained their seemingly romantic interest in each other to a worried Shawn as the product of undercover police work. Tony demanded his price from an unwilling Sami for helping her with Brandon. Sami reminded Colin that his liaison with Nicole could get him in deep trouble with Victor. Abe turned away Lexie, and Brandon lied to Lexie about how Abe found out about their "affair." Philip's jealously seriously jeopardized Brady and Chloe's search for her dad, Dr. Sykes, Chloe's only hope for a bone marrow transplant. Marlena met the Gemini twins and was flooded with past memories when they showed her the same key that John stole from the DiMera house. Marlena had to warn Belle to hide the twins after mistakenly informing agent Spector of their whereabouts and origin. Belle and Shawn witnessed Rex and Cassie's departure from Salem aboard another "spacecraft."

Nick was crushed at Chelsea's decision to be with Jett. Dr. Rolf had Stefano's goons capture Benjy and remove part of his liver to save Stefano. Steve went off the deep end and threatened Stefano's life; he was almost arrested after learning what happened to Benjy. Stephanie and Max discussed their romantic encounter while Jeremy was looking for a "get out of jail free card" and asked Jett for help. Max told Shawn he was going to lose his business and that Shawn had no job, prompting Shawn to look at other career alternatives. Philip asked Belle to help him find his son. Sami, Lucas, and E.J. were caught in Andre's reign of terror. Lucas saved E.J.'s life, against his better judgment. Sami was hell-bent on ending the vendetta, while Stefano had visions of Santo and was more determined than ever to make sure no one found out the truth about Colleen and Santo.

E.J., drunk and out for revenge, attacked Nicole at the docks. Daniel rescued Nicole from E.J. and encouraged her to stay in Salem and to testify against him. Sami went to the DiMera mansion in the middle of the night, found E.J. drunk in bed, and then shot him. Later, Sami said yes to Rafe's surprise marriage proposal but decided not to tell him that she had left the apartment earlier and shot E.J. Stefano pleaded with Daniel to save E.J.'s life. Kate warned Stefano to make sure that Will understood that she did not know that E.J. had kidnapped Sydney, or else their marriage was over. Vivian continued with her bizarre plot to bury Maggie alive. Maggie offered Brady advice on surviving the Kiriakis legacy. Victor cautioned Stefano for violating their business agreement. Melanie helped Nathan during a critical surgery. Bo's feelings of guilt about Hope and Ciara were obvious to Carly, who offered to bow out of their relationship for the sake of his family.

Lexie told Sami and Rafe that the biopsy showed an abnormality in the tissue sample. She informed them she would refer the test results to a renowned oncologist for a more informed opinion. T caused more problems for Sonny. Taylor blamed Quinn for her past life as a prostitute even though he tried to convince her that she had meant something special to him. Jennifer seemed concerned when Daniel blurted out that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Carly blamed Dr. Norman for forcing Nicholas to admit that he could never forgive his mom for killing his father. Later, Melanie blasted Nicholas for abandoning Carly and convinced him that they should stand by their mom in her time of need. Mandy testified to the police about her assault on the pier. She described a few details about the attacker that might help the police identify him. Chloe decided to meet up with one of her escorts on her own, and later became the attacker's next victim. Kinsey told a shocked Brady and Nicole that Chloe was turning tricks for a local pimp to earn money to provide a good home for Parker. Later, Brady found Chloe at the pier, bloodied, beaten, and unconscious. After talking with Maggie, Hope and Jennifer agreed that she should remain at Victor's to recuperate.
