I think I posted elsewhere that after Marlena is rescued from the DiMera tunnel, John is adamant they plan a wedding, and head writer says it won't be the barely a wedding kind we have seen the last few years.

I read it last night. It's a multi-page story all about his recent trip to Australia to see his family. Also talks about his Greek heritage quite a bit. He's a really good writer I encourage you to pick up a copy of SOD to read it.
