My poppies are crazy this year - I have never had so many...the blooms just don't last very long and we have high winds so I have to enjoy them while I can.
I was at a wedding reception on Saturday over the weekend at a farm. They had 3 peacocks and this guy was very entertaining. They have a farmers market on the weekends - I think I'll go back and check it out. Terrific old farm from
the 1850's.
I don't have a veggie garden yet. I live in the woods, bought someones 800 sq ft cedar log cabin that was their vacation home and turned it in to my permanent home. It didnt even have central heat when I bought it.
Here are some of the flower beds I helped build.
Had to learn how to cut red sandstone which is on the property. Cut the stone the old fashioned way with chisels. Was fun!
Brought in dirt. My center circle is 55ft by 35 ft and took 5000 plants of pachysandra that filled the circle in 3 years.
Bought lumber for some of the beds and also helped tear down a corn crib and barn & used the wood to help my hubby at the time build a wood shed in the one pic.Love it here. My litte paradise.
Here's a pic of my wood shed, center circle driveway and side flower bed
Beautiful soapkitty! Looks like a bit of heaven on earth!
So happy to see everyone's pictures - thanks for sharing. ktspirit your picture has me thinking of tomatoe pie - oh so yummy kmelane your pictures are beautiful - what sweet baby girls ..
I haven't been able to grow flowers in years but I sure am enjoying following all of you in this thread, and I especially enjoy the beautiful pictures!
The tomato pie and tomato gravy have my mouth watering. I haven't had either but I know i would like them.
Oh my goodness, tomato pie and tomato gravy. I followed the link to get the recipe for that scrumptious looking tomato pie. Now I need the recipe for the tomato gravy. Usually when I hear tomato gravy, people mean the same thing as what we call spaghetti sauce here. This looks much different. Squirrel wants some of this, too. Please. Pretty please.
I have blossoms on my Better Boy and Early Girl tomato plants. There is also one teeny tiny green tomato on an Early Girl plant. I think that I won't take down the polycarbonite panels from around my porch for a while since they are making my porch like a greenhouse. The panels are usually down long before now.
I think there are as many tomato gravy recipes as there are people who make it, lol. I'll try to find you one closest to how I like it, because I don't have a recipe, I just make it, lol. Then you can adjust as you like.
