Hope continues to question Ben, and in flashbacks, we see him recalling a visit to him at Bayview, where Clyde used the alias Jordan Ridgeway. Thus Ben expected to see his sister, but instead was shocked to see his dad. Once alone, Clyde claimed he was going to get Ben out of there, and be reunited with his son, Thomas, who would make a better father than Chad DiMera. Ben refutes that, saying no he would not, and how could he ever tell Thomas about killing 3 people. Clyde claims it wasn't 3, just two, Serena & Paige. You did not kill Will. (And both forgot about the woman who delivered Thomas, and Ben shot). Ben recalls exactly how he did it, talks of the tie, pulling it tighter and tighter, as he watched Will getting all ability to breathe, and die. He comments sadly that Will was his friend. Clyde repeats that Will is not dead, that tho it appeared that way, not everything is as it looks, but the guard comes in, time is up. Clyde leaves, will tell Ben all when he returns to spring him out of there.

That is all Ben can recall, Hope notes that Gabi found Will's lifeless body, he was dead, morgue, casket, funeral, buried. Ben is taken away.

Steve & Kayla are in the Pub, music playing, they dance. This is so nice. When over, they talk, about Joey, and then Tripp. They discuss whether to tell Joey about the wedding disruption, decide not to keep things from him just because bad, then she wants to know why Tripp did not come to wedding. Steve evades at first, but she knows her husband, figures he told Tripp not to come, as Kayla was rather fragile and upset about Joey. Steve admits he did that, Kayla gets ticked, wants him to stop trying to read her, and speak for her what's on her mind. She acknowledges that, for now, it is hard for her to talk about Tripp, but that he is Steve's son, part of their family, and thus doesn't want him left out. All is well there.

Claire & Theo return home, hearing music instead the apt. Tripp is playing one of Claire's tapes, singing along a bit. They go in, Chatter with each other. Tripp compliments Claire, etc. Theo sort of hangs in the background, but when Claire goes to change, he starts aking Tripp why he did not come to the wedding, as he thinks it was because he wanted to take Claire, and she was already Theo's date. Nope, Tripp had amother reason, doesn't matter, thinks Claire is a great gal, she is Theo's girlfriend, he did help her out as she had given him some great advice once, they are friends. zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Over at the Kmansion, the bickering between Sonny & Brady continues, Vic angrily tells them to knock off acting like children. Both guys feel they are right, Vic makes no choice between them as Paul comes in, tells how Hope learned Clyde visited Ben. Vic thinks they both should get down to the cop shop, they leave. Brady stews, fidgets, yaps about Nicole, who has not come home, nor answered his text. probably driving, will be home soon. Vic suggests she may have gone to see Eric. Nope, Brady is firm about that.

Paul & Sonny get the story from Hope, so now only Clyde knows the rest of it. They want to go see him, but are sure he won't talk to any of them. However Sonny figures he knows someone to whom Clyde will speak.

But at the farmhouse, there is Eric & Nicole, going over all the history between them. He left the Center as he would not fire her, has loved her always. left Salem originally because of her, how he saved her & Holly from, Xander. How he doesn't want to come between her & Brady, but he just cannot be around her, loves her too much. She is all teary, he is somber, , eventually telling her to leave now, get in her car, go, never turn back. They are very close, he is very intense telling her to go, or he may do something he will regret. What is that, she asks, as she leans forward the 2 in. between them, they kiss.

Ugh! Why can't Sonny just go back into business for himself?!? The back and forth about Titan is boring. Is Sonny even experienced enough to be running a multi million dollar company? Whatever. Not invested.

It looks like Brady is in line to be our next bad guy. How is he John/Isabella's son?!?! He's been hanging with Victor for too long. I don't know how to redeem him without sending him to rehab and a trip around the world by himself (away from my tv) to do some soul searching.

I fast forwarded the Steve/Kayla scenes because all they lately do is bicker. I'm all for angst at times BUT we do need a few SOLID couples in Salem. I did enjoy the Ben/Clyde scenes just because I think they are both superb actors and I like what they bring to the show.

I was thinking today that I really miss scenes at the pier and inside of homes (not the mansions). I'd love to see the Salem Spectator.

Have the new writers stories started or are the old ones still being wrapped up?

Thank you so much for the summary, Poirot. I don't think I'll ever be able to see Sonny as the CEO of Titan, but Brady is too unstable. Victor needs to come up with someone different. Philip has been suggested as a possibility by someone here. I don't know why he has always been booted out. He doesn't behave any worse than the rest of them.

Just a few comments about today's episode.

Eat your heart out Dos Equis: This beer brand's ads may have "the most interesting man in the world," but Days definitely has the "most miserable man," the perpetually gloomy Eric, whose moods just don't make it rain, but also bring thunder and lightning.

Let's make a mountain out of a molehill: Kayla should stop carping about Steve and Tripp and focus on the really big question: is there anyone else from Steve's messy past who might return and make her life miserable?

The master of understatement: This has to be Clyde (the master of baseball-cap disguises) for saying that Ben killed only two people, not three.

Twiddle-dee or twiddle-dom?: Pity poor Victor whose choices to run Titan seem to be limited to power-mad, self-important Big Boy Sonny and jealous, Nicole-obsessed Brady. Whatever happened to Philly K? Has Victor forgotten him like Maggie seems to have forgotten all her children except egg-baby St. Jonas.

Waste of screen time: Sorry, but if any scenes are currently FF-worthy, it's Theo and Claire.

:OT: Ya know, a couple years ago, the show introduced this whole big group of "aged" teens.........and of that group.....well, Chase, Ciara & Joey are gone, leaving us........Theo & Claire.
Plus Jade is gone, too.
Just could not get the magic that was Belle, Shawn, Philip, Chloe, Jan, Brady...:back:

Thanks, Poirot.

I'm surprised Victor didn't say more to the two toddlers arguing in the living room.

We probably need to change Brady's name from Dudley Do Right to Dudley Do Wrong.

Interesting at the end when Victor said Nicole might be with Eric. Then Brady said Nicole
not with Eric. Eric is out of town. Well, they were both sort of right about that one.

Line of the day goes to Claire when she tells Tripp "It was a typical Salem wedding.
It was crashed by an escaped murderer."

I don't get why Kayla was so upset over Tripp not going to the wedding. Yes, while she thought it would've been nice to go and support his new family, in reality, Tripp barely knows any of the people actually getting married. While Abby is Tripp's cousin, I don't think they've ever spoken to one another.

I'm surprised Ben didn't refer to Thomas by the name he gave him, Collin.

I thought he did with Hope but Clyde called him Thomas. I'm also surprised he calls Abby "Abby" because he used to call her Abigail.

It's possible Clyde doesn't know about Wendy, whom I still purport is not dead. Ben was terrorizing Abby, it's entirely possible he said he killed her just for that purpose.

My theory as well on all points.

While Abby is Tripp's cousin, I don't think they've ever spoken to one another.

He's also Sonny's cousin. But Tripp has met Abby. In one of his first scenes, he met her at the police station and she introduced herself as his cousin.

It's interesting that Clyde confirmed Serena and Paige are dead. Or are they? I'm still not sold. Especially since the show seems to be somewhat trying to redeem Ben. I just can't see that working if only Will is alive.

I liked that Claire changed her clothes. She is the only one who has since the wedding. Tripp is crushing on her.

Eric and Nicole: :love::love: their dialogue was amazing. I can't believe they finally brought up Lucas and Africa.

Today may have been slow at times but I liked that we had at least 5 different stories with different characters interwoven throughout. This is the type of balance the show needs.

Thanks for the summary. Was unable to see it yesterday. Other than the teen stuff, it sounds like an entertaining show. I actually do want Sonny to run Titan, at least for a while. Brady is too unstable and needs to go back to rehab, or just on a trip around the world. And why isn't he spending more time with his son instead of drinking and worrying about Eric & Nicole? I also loved Nicole and Eric's scenes. Wonderful. Please get them back together!

DaysLady: I so agree about Kayla's outfit. Just saw a clip of yesterday's show. Seems like something out of Jennifer's closet!

I know Salem's family trees are so intertwined, it seems impossible to puzzle out.

However, to me, in laws are not blood relatives, tho many consider them so. Hope is not related to Steve, Jack, Adrienne. She WAS Bo's wife, making her Kayla's sister-in-law, but she is not related by blood to Kayla either.

It is those actually related by blood that drive us up a wall. Yep, Adrienne/Jack are siblings, so that makes their offspring cousins. Oh, the tangles these families have on Days. LOL
