This is a loving homage to the Days I want to see. It may read like a spoof, or a serious episode, or a wry outing of the actual show.
No infringement is intended, and do not take anything here as a spoiler. This is fiction.
Episode 2018.03.16.
Lani and Chad are at Stefan's bedroom door. They open it. Slowly. The room is empty. Lani tells Chad she needs to wait for backup to search, keep everything on the up-and-up.
Stefan and "Gabby" have moved their party to what appears to be a room in the tunnels. We can see the alters' outfits there. "Gabby" still wants to flee, Stefan reminding her that Abby is in control. "Gabby" disrobes as Stefan watches.
In Paul's room, Will and Paul are on the bed, reclined, watching television at a comfortable distance. (After all, there seem to be no guest chairs in the rooms at Martin House.) They talk about the great shows NBC now offers on Demand, like Timeless, The Voice, and The Good Place. They argue a bit about whether Will & Grace's new episodes are funny. (Paul thinks the show is played out, Will loves it.) During this disagreement they get a bit closer, kiss, kiss.
JJ is at the hospital, nurse's station. He asks the nurse on duty if she's seen his mother, Jennifer Horton. The nurse shakes her head, JJ thanks her and walks away. Seconds later, he's at Kayla's office. She's not there, so he waits.
Kayla is at a window that reads MEDICAL RECORDS. Derrick appears in the window, asks how he can help her. She asks for a tape recorder (since Salem still seems to use primarily paper file systems); she has some notes she'll need transcribed because she's misplaced her glasses and she's off-duty tomorrow. He asks if this will be a stat order, she says yes, very urgent case. He provides her the recorder, and she thanks him before heading back to her office.
In the tunnels, Stefan is not doing a good job of avoiding watching "Gabby" undress. "Gabby" shouts, drops her head, it's one of her headaches. Abby comes to, nearly nude, screams at Stefan, "What are you doing here!?!" Stefan bolts.
Back in Kayla's office, JJ is thinking, "Maybe I should wait for Aunt Kayla outside, she could have a patient coming in any minute, it could be awkward." He gets up to leave. He hears Kayla talking as she approaches the private entrance from the doctors' hallway. Cut to the hall, Kayla is dictating notes, "Ms Price was discharged without changes in medication, overall she is a healthy pregnant female," she opens the door, "with a healthy 12 week pregnancy." JJ looks surprised.
Opening Credits.
JJ asks Kayla if she was talking about Lani's pregnancy, she's further along than that, more like 20 weeks. Kayla says she can't tell him the patient's name, asks what he's doing here. He is looking for Jennifer, knew she was coming to see Kayla. She was here, and left, Kayla explains. JJ is sorry for the intrusion, Kayla says she needs to watch where she's saying patient information, patients do wait in her office for her. JJ again apologises, says he'll find Jennifer, and leaves. Outside Kayla's office, JJ has a worried one-shot.
Stefan emerges from the tunnels in the study. Vivian is there. Stefan says they might have to accelerate their plan, he made a mistake with Abby.
In Stefan's room, a uniform has arrived and Lani is searching while Chad watches. Lani bags some personal items for fingerprint comparison. Chad looks worried.
"Dr Laura" emerges from the bookcase in the living room. She has a thinks monologue, "Abby, what you saw wasn't real, it was a dream." She moves to the sofa, lies down, and closes her eyes. A few minutes later, Abby wakes up, groggy. "How did I get here?" she wonders.

In Paul's room, Will and Paul are shirtless, kissing heavily. Paul pulls away. This is weird. Will wonders why. Paul is having flashbacks to their affair (with Chandler Massey in newly-recreated flashbacks). Will realises that Paul is remembering him from before, which he doesn't remember. Awkward.
Abby wanders upstairs to her room. "I'm so tired," she thinks. "Why am I so tired all the time?" She remembers her meeting with Kayla, starts to call her. She passes out while dialing.
In Stefan's room, Lani is digging through papers and bagging them. Chad wonders why she's interested in these papers. She says they are evidence of a crime. He asks what in the papers proves Stefan murdered André. Lani says she's uncovered evidence that another crime was committed, and asks the officer to make a call to Judge Nabb for a new warrant. What crime? Chad asks. Fraud and embezzlement, for starters, replies Lani.
JJ is drinking a coffee in the Square, talking to his mom on the phone. She heard he was looking for her, he was, but something came up, needs to deal with it fast. JJ plays over dialogue from Eli, Lani, Val, and Kayla, conversations that were cut off when he entered the room.
In the Dimansion study, Vivian is laying into Stefan for playing "hack shrink" and ruining their plan. They haven't had enough time in control of DiMera to drain its accounts adequately without raising suspicion. She scolds him for letting his feelings get in the way of their plan. He moves close to her and embraces her. "Darling, the only one in this house I have feelings for is you." They kiss.

In the DiMansion, Vivian pulls away from Stefan. She reminds him that everyone here thinks they're mother and son, and they need to think that until they can finish fleecing DiMera. He relays the incident with the alter, who transitioned to Abby while undressed. Vivian worries this could affect the board's view of him, perhaps they should transfer extra holdings while they still can. Stefan agrees, will make the call.
Will and Paul are now dressed fully, Will on the bed, Paul in a chair. Paul tells Will about a guy he met twice at two times on tour, both times when his team was passing through Topeka, but Paul had no memory of him, how much the guy was hurt, and how bad it made Paul feel that he couldn't remember him. Will says this is different, Paul acknowledges that, but combined with the Sonny issue, it is awkward and he needs time. Will agrees, suggests a public place. They agree to go to The Spot for a drink, then dinner at Chez Rouge, will meet up again in a few hours. Will agrees.
Kayla is at the Medical Records window, giving Derrick back the recorder. It's later in the day, he's about to close up, but will get this in for transcription, he assures her. She thanks him, and leaves. She does some out-loud thinking about JJ getting hurt, and decides Lani will have to switch doctors.
Lani is at the station, reporting via telephone to Hope (unseen). Lani apologises for letting Trask interfere, didn't realise Trask was breaking the rules. Lani relays the finds at the DiMera house, but no evidence linking Stefan to the murder, other than the phone. Gabi had the lid and the coat. Lani assures Hope that she did not reveal to Chad what the papers said, but there's evidence that Stefan and André arranged for someone else's blood to be used in the DNA test, which allowed him to take over the company.
Abby has one of her trademarked André murder dreams and has visions during the dream of the alters talking with Stefan. She awakes with a start.

JJ passes by Will and Paul in the Martin House lobby. He's surprised they're going on a date since Will just divorced "my cousin Sonny." Will asks, "Aren't we cousins, too?" and laments that Sonny is hurt, but he has no memory and doesn't feel for him, he should be with someone who loves him. JJ seems to pause to think about this, Paul and Will leave, JJ heads upstairs.
Stefan is in his office, looks very upset as he is on the phone. He can't seem to move any funds around, and learns there was just an order made to freeze his assets. He asks who made the order. Chad enters and says, "I did." Behind him, Vivian is about to enter, turns quickly, dashes away.
Kayla is on the phone in her office, talking to Stephanie. Stephanie will be visiting soon, her father wants to see her, and they talk about Steve's condition. Kayla can't wait to see her, gets another call, has to take it. Kayla speaks with Dr Rayder about taking Lani's case, doesn't want to go into details, but she is dating her nephew and would appreciate it as a favour. Rayder apparently agrees, Kayla will call Lani to let her know.
Abby is thinking in her room, about her horrible nightmare. She is well rested but had the dream again after falling asleep. She remembers something, and we see the usual dream-flashback of André revealing his killer's name. This time though, he says, "Chad...". Abby thinks, "It can't be Chad. He would never kill his brother." Cut to her door, and a few minutes later she leaves with her "Gabby" wig on.
