February spoilers

which makes it impossible to count as it is watched at many different times of the day (or night) ,
Actually this makes it much easier to count. Like JS said, they know exactly how and when and who is watching the show, unlike the old TV-ratings system.

That said, I'm not sure "sweeps" really matters, but they have to use data from some point to set rates and sell ads, and this model of "sweeps" exists. It's not inconceivable that Peacock/NBC would use a sweeps-like system to re-set ad rates.

Unlike with the transparent but easily-manipulated Nielsen system, whatever NBC/Peacock use to track ratings is a secret known only to them.

But wouldn't they just based the ad rates on average viewing data for the "season" or year? On the buyer side, I don't think they'd care about February or November in particular. That just a holdover from when they standardized things across three networks. I would imagine now it's a rolling average based on some set time period.

That's a great point, and makes a lot of sense. Your guess is as good as any. The model/s are still in flux, I'm sure. It seems like it would be easy for NBC/Peacock to say they had a million viewers, but their tracking data was a trade secret, etc. Hulu and Tubi could make similar claims.

Ad rates on local streaming services are surprisingly expensive considering how little data you're given.

Maybe some of the people here on the Salem Spectator can show the writers what a GOOD storyline is!

I cannot believe they get paid for this crapola.
I agree. I also hope they will stop with all the porn that's been on lately. I hate porn and I especially hate to see it on a soap opera that is on in the afternoon when all the kids are home.

I especially hate to see it on a soap opera that is on in the afternoon when all the kids are home.
Except it's not on in the afternoon when all the kids are home anymore. You literally have to log into Peacock and stream it to your preferred device, so it's not like kids are going to stumble upon it while flipping through channels. It could only happen if a kid walked into a room when an adult was streaming the episode on a device big enough for the kid to see (a TV, large computer monitor, etc.).

but that is what folks do now....stream to the TV...and thus kids are around to just pop up without warning...
I know, but I was just saying that they have to physically log in and pull up the show, it's not like a kid could see it by flipping through the channels on the TV like they did when Days was on regular TV.

Is Days still on regular TV in Canada, Mrs. Clean?

Well, in Canada, and who knows what other countries, Days is on regular TV as it used to be here. I honestly hate streaming, I hate having to watch on my computer (some have to use their phones, I hear) sitting in an office chair, in a little room.......Whatever the reason, they truly need to rethink it.
