Chloe Lane
Chloe spent her early years in foster care until she discovered that Nancy Wesley, wife of Dr. Craig Wesley was her mother. Nancy brought her home under the premise that she was a friend’s daughter. Nancy thought Chloe’s father was one of her father’s business associates, but later it was learned she was, in fact, Craig’s daughter.
When Chloe first came to Salem she was picked on by her peers and often referred to a “ghoul girl”. Two kind-hearted students at Salem High, Shawn-Douglas Brady and Isabella (Belle) Black took pity on her and became friends with her. This mostly ended her battle with the bullies at Salem High. Shawn-Douglas and Philip Kiriakis made a bet, the loser had to ask Chloe to the Last Blast Dance. Philip lost, asked Chloe to the dance. She accepted, and that night it was found that under the ghoul girl garb, was a beautiful girl. Chloe and Philip began dating, that is until Chloe found out about the bet.
Philip and Chloe eventually rekindled their romance, then Brady Black, Belle’s brother, entered the scene. Chloe and Brady immediately bonded over their love of music, engaging in many duets together during their courtship. As Brady and Chloe grew closer, Philip did everything he could to sabotage the relationship between the new friends. When Chloe discovered Philip’s attempts at sabotaging her and Brady’s friendship, they broke things off and she and Brady began seeing each other more frequently.
When Chloe was diagnosed with Leukemia, she began to search for her birth father, to see if he matched her for a bone marrow transplant. She discovered her bio father was indeed Dr. Craig Wesley, but her baby sister Joy proved a match for her bone marrow. Chloe went into remission, left Salem to pursue her dream of becoming an Opera singer, and as a result her relationship with Brady ended.
Brady finally found Chloe, was about to confront her when she was in a horrible car accident and her face was disfigured. She did not want Brady to find out so let him think that she was dead. She returned to Salem secretly to have plastic surgery, but due to Nicole's tampering with bacterial laden surgical instruments, she developed a flesh eating infection. Brady discovered she was alive and well, and finally, after successful surgery, her beautiful face was restored and she unveiled it to Brady on their wedding day. Once they were married, they moved to Europe so she could pursue the Opera singing career she always wanted.
In late 2007 Chloe returned toSalem, sans Brady, who eventually came back to town and revealed that he had a drug addition which was why they were no longer together. She briefly stayed with Philip in the Kiriakis mansion, engaging in a "friends with benefits" relationship. Chloe then became involved with Lucas Horton, agreeing to marry him . Even though she had met Dr. Daniel Jonas and was convinced he was the love of her life, when Lucas was in a horrible accident, Chloe prayed to God that if he came out of it alive, she would never leave him. They were later married.
But, Chloe’s relationship with Lucas didn’t last as his mother, Kate Roberts, knew about her affair with Daniel. Kate decided to poison Chloe’s food, choosing various methods, as she was sampling on the set of her show “Hearth and Home.” Kate had every intention of killing Chloe and framing Daniel for the murder. Chloe slipped into a coma only to come out of it a few weeks later and get Daniel exonerated for her attempted murder. During her coma, it was revealed to Lucas that she had an affair with Daniel. Chloe admitted the truth to Lucas as to what happened and he granted her an annulment.
Chloe and Daniel then began a serious relationship. She was desperate to have a child but was told that it would be very difficult to conceive due to the chemotherapy/radiation treatments she had during her time with Leukemia. Thinking she had managed to get pregnant, Chloe too a pregnancy test which came back positive, but an ultrasound later proved it to be an hysterical pregnancy. She had wanted a child so badly that her body began to show symptoms of being with child, hence the positive test reading.
Soon after, Daniel learned that Melanie Layton (now Melanie Layton-Kiriakis) was his child from a one night stand many years ago with Dr. Carly Manning. This sent Chloe into an emotional tail-spin. The child she wanted so badly to give to Daniel had been given to him by someone else.
Vivian Alamain, who wanted to get revenge on Carly for killing her nephew Lawrence Alamain, decided to trick Chloe into thinking that Daniel and Carly were currently having an affair. Vivian was hoping it would send Chloe into a homicidal rage and she would kill Carly. In a moment of weakness, coupled with a bit too much wine, Chloe turned to Philip (who was now married to Daniel's daughter, Melanie) for comfort. Philip had reason to believe Melanie was cheating on him, the two friends ended up having sex, fueled by their feelings of rejection and the alcohol.
Shortly afterwards, Chloe learns Daniel and Carly were not having an affair. However, Carly overheard Chloe talking about her one night stand and tried, unsuccessfully, to convince Chloe to tell Daniel the truth. After Chloe's desperate attempt to marry Daniel before Carly told him about her one night stand, Carly discovered Chloe was pregnant and stopped the wedding in time to inform Chloe and Daniel. After completing another ultrasound a doubtful Chloe finally realized that she was indeed pregnant. Carly still wanted Chloe to tell Daniel but agreed to perform a paternity test at another hospital, under an assumed name, but if the baby did not turn out to be Daniels, Carly would then tell Daniel about the affair. The results showed Daniel was the father, however, unbeknown to Daniel, Chloe, and Philip, someone changed the results of the paternity test and the child is in fact Philip's.
Melanie learned of the affair through Nathan Horton and confronted Chloe. She intended to tell Daniel all about it, before he married Chloe, but as soon as she met with her Dad, she changed her mind, realizing how much her father loves Chloe. The wedding proceed and Daniel and Chloe were married on October 14, 2010.
