My version of the 50th Anniversary storyline

Justin is seen making a call to Victor. “We’ve got them,” he says. Victor smiles a satisfied smile and and then sends a group text. A split screen shows Brady, Rafe, Xander, John, and Sonny each out for a jog simultaneously hearing their phones beep.

In the next scene, all the men, except John, are gathered in the Kiriakis living room. John enters with a hesitant looking Paul.

Victor: Good afternoon, Gentlemen. I know each of you values our family and the time has come for us to come together and bring back one of our own. Rafe, I’ve invited you here as a trusted friend.

Brady, snarkily and looking at Paul: What’s he doing here?

Victor: Brady, this is your half-brother Paul. He is John’s son. Paul, John was once married to my dear, Isabella, before she succumbed to cancer. (Look of empathy from Paul to John). Brady is their son and my grandson. While you are not my blood relative, John and Brady mean a great deal to me and you will always be welcome here.

Victor, turning to Brady: So Brady, it’s not every week you learn you have a son and a brother!” (everyone in the room exchanges confused glances).

Victor: Brady would you like to share your news?

Brady: Well, it turns out that Theresa Donovan and I have a child together. Turns out Melanie learned some secret spy tricks while trying to fool the casinos while she was in Europe and she figured out that Kristen kidnapped Theresa’s fetus and had the baby in Italy. Long story short, we rescued the baby and Kristen is dead. (more confused glances around the room).

Victor: Yes, and now that tramp will be living here. Can we all toast to Kristen’s death? And one more introduction. This is Xander. He is my brothers son. He is here to offer whatever services necessary. (Smoldering look by Xander.)

Sonny: Wait, Granddad, what did you mean about bringing back one of our own?

Victor looks toward Justin. Justin simply states: We have found Bo and Steve Johnson. (jaws drop all around the room).

John whispers to Paul: Bo is Victor’s son that he didn’t know he had until he was an adult, and…

Paul interrupts: Are we talking about Sonny’s Uncle Steve who died so many years ago?

Victor confirms: Yes (Sonny and Paul exchange caring glances)


Justin continues: I have been working with an ISA agent named Elsa for the past several months in Dubai (dawning look on Sonny’s face). We have been carefully tracking the movements of Lawrence Alamain after coded calls began coming into the ISA office. The codes were exclusive to Steve Johnson. We believe Lawrence faked Steve’s death long ago to get revenge on Bo because Carly was in love with him. After much long and tedious work, we have located them in an underground bunker in the desert.

Victor: This is where you all come in. Rafe, Sonny, Brady, Paul, and Xander… with your combined experience and muscle, you are the perfect team to go to Dubai and rescue my son and his best friend. Anyone may back out now but the plane is fueled and ready to leave in one hour.

Justin: One more thing. We feel it’s best that Adrienne, Hope, and Kayla are not informed until we are sure the rescue is a success.

Camera does a close-up to each man who states: I’m in.

Each leaves to gather belongings and say good-byes to family. Brady stays behind to talk to Victor.

Brady: Granddad, I know you hate Theresa. I’m speaking as a man who grew up without a mother. (flashback of Isabella dying in John’s arms). I don’t want that to happen to my son. Please promise me that you will be kind to Theresa, and take care of both her and my son should something happen to me.

Victor: Maggie is better at being kind than I am. However, I will promise you.

In the garden:

Sonny to Justin: You weren't having an affair were you?

Justin: No, son. Elsa and I worked very closely and pretended to be a couple while investigating. Elsa is in a committed relationship with a nice woman named Anna. I couldn't tell your mother until I was sure her brother was alive.

Sonny: I’m going to bring Mom back her brother. I promise Dad. Can I bring Ari to your house? Will’s in Poplar Bluff. I’ll text him now.

In Horton Town Square

Xander is walking and texting at the same time. He talks out loud, “Nicole, I need to travel overseas for Uncle Vic. I’ll be in touch when I can.” As he texts he spies Eric and stops and stares. Eric is walking with coffee when he accidentally runs into a man wearing a red baseball cap.

Eric: Sorry, man. (surprised look) Wait I know you. You are the man that used to work with Serena. Wait, are you ok? Are you supposed to be in Salem? Can I take you, um, home?

Red-cap guy, laughing: Sorry I fooled you, Man. I’m a perfectly healthy, normal guy who worked out at the same gym as Serena. Serena paid me big bucks to lie to you and that hot blond Nicole. I”m sure Serena is long gone by now so I can come clean. Boy, Serena sure wanted stick it to that news lady. I felt bad. Nicole was really nice and I had to practically beg her to participate. Bet you are glad “my Bluebird” is no longer in your life!! (cue sourpuss glare)

Serena’s Hotel Room: Next scene Xander is seen breaking into Serena’s hotel room. Smiling to himself, he pulls out a handful of diamonds. He continues to talk to himself as he hides the diamonds in Serena’s safe. “Good thing I had these made, just in case, Serena. The best jewelers in the world couldn’t tell these apart from the real thing. And now to send a clue to Uncle Vic’s former daughter-in-law, Hope Brady.

At Sonny and Will’s apartment: Sonny opens the door to find Gabi, Ari, Lucas, Hope and Aidan! Happy, joyful hugs abound with Hope and Aidan sharing that they’d worked together to garner Gabi’s early release. Unable to share the truth, Sonny states he’s going to go visit his brother for a while and invites Gabi to stay in his and Will’s apartment while he’s gone.

At the hospital: Brady arrives, telling Melanie who is wearing scrubs that he must go to Europe for Uncle Victor. He’s secretive and she becomes curious. Brady then goes in Christopher’s hospital room to say goodbye. As soon as Brady’s back is turned Melanie darts out. Brady enters to find Maxine who has brought a diaper bag and is helping Theresa feed Christopher. Maxine says softly, “No wonder he was fussy on the airplane. You have to feed babies every couple of hours.”

At the DiMera mansion: Lucas and Chad sit while Nicole enters. She is snarky, but the tables quickly turn when both compliment her job as a thorough and quality reporter. Lucas offers a job as head of marketing. Chad hands her a contract.
 
Continued:
In the private jet: The men arrive with their gear. On the flight we are treated to laughter, bonding and flashbacks and Rafe, Sonny, and Brady bring Xander and Paul up-to-speed on the family and past events in Salem. We see Patch and Bo, Patch and Kayla, Bo and Hope, Sami, Sami and Rafe, and Shawn D and Belle. We also see Xander, Brady, and Dan as boys promising “forever friendship”. We also see Sonny and Paul meet for the first time as their past relationship is revealed to everyone on the plane. We also see new flashbacks of a younger Victor and Xander and see Victor disappointed in Xander.

The plane lands in London.

Rafe: Why are we landing in London?
Brady: Mel, you can come out now.

Melanie, opening the bathroom door: Hi. How’d you know?

Brady: How could I not know? Anyhow, no way are you coming on this trip. Carly is waiting to pick you up.

Melanie pouts and babbles goodbyes to each person individually, wishing them all well. Brady and Melanie share a passionate kiss and I-love-yous. Melanie is not seen in Salem again, with her absence only explained that she is visiting her mom. Her relationship with Brady is dropped as a storyline.

At the underground prison:

Breaking into the compound is complicated, dramatic and takes several scenes. Rafe is in contact with Justin by phone who is offering instructions. At one point Sonny falls into a hole. Paul attempts to save him but reinjures his shoulder. Xander saves them both. Guards have to be “taken care of” and traps must be avoided. Finally, they get to the final door. Brady kicks the door open. There sit Bo and Steve. Somewhat humorous introductions of who’s who in the room.

Bo looks at Steve: What do you think about taking a one-way trip back to Salem?

Steve: What are we waiting for?

On the way out, more guards arrive on motorcycles. Fist fights erupt with all the Salem boys winning their respective duels. Bo, Steve, Brady, Sonny, Xander, Rafe, and Paul steal the motorcycle and ride off to the song “Holding Out for a Hero.”

Meanwhile, back in Salem, Eric meets up with Hope at the Brady pub. Hope has a fax she has received regarding a diamond heist in Africa. She shares with Eric.

Hope: I received this anonymously today. I realized this happened about the time you were in Africa. I was wondering if you remember it?

Eric: It was big news at the time. Definitely a professional job. If I think of anything I’ll let you know. Can we talk for a moment about Serena?

Eric relays his conversation with red-baseball cap guy. Both Eric and Hope agree something is suspicious.

Eric: The last thing I want to do is falsely accuse the love of my life. Hope, could you use your sources to look into this privately for me?

Hope, with her eyebrow raise: Of course.

Eric leaves, and Hope thinks for a moment and begins making some phone calls.

Hope’s house: Soon, Hope, Jen, Kaila and Adrienne are laughing over wine at Hope’s house. They discuss how they became family and we are treated to nice flashbacks of each of them together, along with Kimberly. The topic changes to Brady and the new baby, and then Hope’s loss of Zack. We see this heartbreaking flashback. The topic moves to Nicole and her losses. There is a quiet pause.

In the next scene there is a knock at the door. Simultaneously, we see mysterious movement in the bushes. It is Nicole at the door.

Jen greets her warmly: Thank you for coming.

Hope: Yes, thank you for coming!

Nicole, nervously: What have I done now? You’ve all gotten together to tell me what a rotten person I am?

Kayla: No, just the opposite. We have been sitting here talking of love and loss. We all realized that you have had your share of loss. Nicole, you have been through the worst and you are still here and you are still strong. (The back door to Hope’s house mysteriously opens with a woman’s hand)

Jen: We were hoping you would join us. We thought we’d go to a comedy club tonight.

Hope’s kitchen door opens, and Sami and Grandma Carolyn walk in!

Sami: Can we join you? (Hugs all around)


It’s a new day in Salem:

Hope’s house: All the ladies are at Hope’s house, clearly having spent the night. All are in PJ’s. Ciara has joined them and they are making pancakes. Adrienne receives a text from Sonny:

-Mom, where are you?
-At Hope’s. You aren’t going to believe this but Kayla, Hope, Jen, Nicole, Sami, and Carolyn and I had a slumber party last night.
-Tell everyone to meet me at the hospital ASAP. Urgent. Have Hope call Roman. Also, Marlena and John.

Adrienne to the group: I just heard from Sonny. He told us all to come to the hospital ASAP.


At the hospital, in a darkened room, we see rubble begin to move. Slowly we see Jack begin to stir. He looks around slowly and we see an elevator shaft. It comes in and out of focus as we see through Jack’s eyes. He spots a sign for the stairs and stumbles in that direction. Dirty and slightly bloody, he wanders to the nurses station. He looks into the room that used to have Theresa and the baby in it. He takes a closer look. He opens the door. Patch looks up, “Jack?????” Jack just stares at Bo and Steve who are sitting in matching hospital beds.

Brady, Sonny, Paul, Xander sit in the lobby, not yet seeing Jack. Maxine sits at the nurses station. Roman enters, “What the hell?”

Jack turns and faces everyone and all stare. At that moment all of the ladies come rushing in, all still wearing pajamas, with scared expressions. Patch and Bo walk behind Jack so the three men stand at the doorway. The women look over. The camera pans across the entire group of stunned faces.

Literally had me on the edge of my seat as far as an adventure storyline goes. So wait, then does that mean that somehow Lawrence Alamain is alive? If he is, then he must have survived Carly stabbing him in Alamania.

But if Bo and Steve were being held captive by Lawrence then I wonder if Lawrence was acting alone in all of this? Or if he somehow had help from other parties? By that I mean other Salem villains of the past.

You do realize this is just a work of fiction, written by a member of this board? This is not a storyline or spoiler information.

I know that it is a work of fiction, but I only asked the questions because I really love this story and it makes me want to do one myself.
