Another emotion filled episode, but still the same night in Salem. Nicole sits with Daniel, talking to him, and eventually, climbing on the bed, laying her head on his chest. Theresa talks to Brady, telling him he has to help them, hang on, not leave her, Tate, his dad, all who need him. Kayla & Fynn are with Maggie & Victor, answering questions. Fynn does explain there is a new antibiotic treatment plan that could be used on Eric, but it is experimental, and no guarantee. Maggie cries, cannot make this choice. They talk of Daniel leaving a directive on what he wants done, and it is said Maggie is his next of kin. Kayla explains that if Maggie doesn't do the choosing, then they have to notify the National Organ Donor center, that Daniel's organs are available & his heart will go to whoever is at the top of the list....anywhere in the country. And then both Brady & Eric will die. Maggie goes to be with Daniel. She & Nicole hug each other, Nicole leaves, telling Daniel she will be back later.

Maggie sits and talks at length to Daniel. She never thought she would see him die, she is grateful for the short time they had, but so wanted more time. She cries, talks some more, sobs some more.

The teens get into Club TBD to have their own party, having found a key, but then find the liquor is locked up as well. (LOL) Claire talks to Ciara about moving out, living on her own, which is what Claire thinks she will have to do. Dad is in Maine, Mom is doing whatever it is we saw her doing. Ciara notes that at least she has a dad. Claire apologizes, Ciara lost her dad, as did Chase. The guys (Chase, Joey, Theo & a new fellow) hollar at the gals to come join them. They decide to play Truth or Dare. Joey is asked if he was ever in love, he says once, an older female. Everyone is laughing, teasing. Claire gets to ask Theo a truth question, "what is the worse thing that ever happened to you". He says when his mom died. Then there is conversation about finding he has this sister, also a cop, so she & his dad work together a lot. Everyone wonders why that is bad, Ciara jumps in, saying his dad spends less time now with Theo. She then bursts out, telling everyone about the bullying that Theo is getting. Everyone is appalled, says the person is a coward, that is really nasty, etc. The new guy claims he was bullied once, tells Theo if he ever finds out who it was, let him know. Everyone else wants to have Theo let them know as well.

JJ has overheard Kayla talking to Maggie & Victor, goes to see his mother. She wants to know if he found out what happened. JJ slowly, and carefully tells her about Daniel, and not making it. About Eric in another car, driving drunk. And how Brady was driving the car Daniel was in, and now both he & Eric need a heart transplant. Jen is devastated.

Kayla tells Victor that they have to begin prepping whoever will get the heart, Maggie has to decide. He again offers to make some calls, she says no. Victor does anyway, but has no luck. He goes to find Maggie, who is sitting, trying to decide. Victor is very kind, she realizes he never once has mentioned Brady, says he lost his son, this would be his
grandson, too. But if she chose Brady, how could she ever face marlena & Roman again, or Caroline, or any of them.

Chad & Abby are in the elevator, he is in his zombie mode, going for paternity test, going to prove Thomas is not his kid. Abby is pretty patient, waits while he goes to have the test, he then starts to leave, telling her to let him know the results. She makes him come with her to Thomas's room, he won't even go near the crib. The doctor has told Abby that Thomas probably had a viral infection, is doing much better. She will be back with Chad's results. He now thinks Thomas was never sick, all was a set up. He finally goes over to the crib, has lots of flashes of the baby, Abby, etc.

Marlena, is checking the protocol for the anti-biotic treatment Eric might get, is not all that promising. Roman is there, she is commenting that if Eric doesn't open his eyes, she will never see them again.

The doctor returns, confirms that Chad is indeed Thomas's father. That Chad has the Von ? marker, as does Thomas, probably will never cause a problem. The doctor leaves, Abby picks up the baby, who is squirming, making noises, talks to Chad about this being his son, and that though there is more she would want from Chad, this is not about her. It is about his son, who needs him. He should get to know him. She is holding the baby, is right up in front of Chad, who looks down at Thomas, then at her.

Kayla comes to see Maggie, tells her they have to begin prepping whoever is to get Daniel's heart. They are running out of time for it to be viable. Before Maggie can say anything, John comes in, says to give the heart to Eric. He has a heart for Brady. His own. He wants to give his heart so his son can live.

Another emotion-filled day in Salem. Kudos to actress Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) for her performance today. She's often been mocked by many posters, myself included, for her over-the-top, gushy performance as Daniel's "egg-mommy," but she did a fine job today. Kudos also go to Victor for not demanding that because Brady is a Kiriakis he should get the Love Doctor's heart, Among those who were not at their best, John was at the top of the list for suggesting that the hospital give his heart to Brady. His battered brain must be in worse shape than anybody thought. Is he trying to ensure that Fynn shares a cell with Dr. Baker? Also not clicking on all cylinders were the teen party-goers. By breaking into TBD with the intent to drink up Sonny's soft drinks and liquor, they're guilty of burglary. If they fail to catch a break and end up before Judge Goldberg, the not-so-kindly jurist who wanted to hang JJ out to dry, the merry group will be cleaning the Town Square for the next several years.

That is probably it. I knew it the last word began with a W, but could not remember what she said, and did not have CC on. However, she said Chad had the MARKER, as did Thomas, and that it probably would not ever bother them, but was good to know ahead of time. It was just a confirmation of something (that is an inherited factor), just as Adrienne had that marker in her blood, same as her mother, for getting that cancer.

Yes, I thought, too, perhaps the boy with them was probably the one doing the bullying.

I'm finding it hard to care a lot about Eric right now. He's been acting like a jerk for quite some time and his descent into the bottle hasn't been explained too well. Even though he left the priesthood you would think he'd know enough about grief and guilt to seek counseling before turning to drink.

If we had seen him going through the process of trying to sort this out and failing it would be different but we didn't (did we?). There's so much suffering going on right now on this show (largely his fault) that his heart problem almost feels like an intrusion. Of course, I do feel for Marlena and Roman and perhaps this will lead to a decent if necessarily painful story for Eric at last. Assuming he survives, of course.

The new guy, according to the casting call from last June, is supposed to be 15-16, named Henry, HAS been bullied. Uses humor to hide some secret he feels he cannot reveal. He is being played by Zak Henri who is the son of Brenda Strong....remember her...Mary Alice on Desperate Housewives, among other roles.

So, the person who is bullying Theo is probably someone else. I do remember another casting call. Hmmm.

Hurrah to the writers for coming up with such a soapy story!

I predict Brady will get the heart since John obviously can not donate his own and Brady will not survive without a new heart whereas Eric might (with treatment) from what I understood.

I noticed something that kind of bothered me with the Teen scenes when Claire was talking to Ciara about her problems she apologized for being insensitive and said something along the lines of "You lost your dad but at least you still have your mom." Or something to that effect. I could help thinking "Uh, Claire, sweetheart, those are your grandparents you're talking about. Why are you talking about them as if they are complete strangers?" I get that Claire might not feel close to them since she didn't grow up in Salem and admittedly when I think of the word "grandparent" neither Bo nor Hope Brady spring instantly to mind. But that's who they are to Claire nonetheless and to have her refer to them as if they were no relation to her just rubs me wrong the way.
