The searches for Tate, plus Hope & Rafe continue. Aiden sits on a park bench, remembering Hope's denouncement of him & his lies, and then Andre relating all he did to set Rafe up in the house, the bomb, Hope coming to rescue, & the house going "boom". His reverie (and the flashbacks) are interrupted by Shawn arriving, grabbing his collar, demanding to know where his mother is. And Aiden of course tells his tale, doesn't know, just got out of holding cell, she wants nothing to do with him, hasn't seen her. Of course he left out the part where Andre told him about the explosion.

Mami & Blanca are in the Pub, Mami still worried about Rafe not returning her calls. Blanca is also getting a bit worried about not hearing from Rafe.

At the Club, Shawn is talking to Eduardo & Dario, fills them in on the house, Rafe going there, Hope following, explosion, no bodies, etc. Eduardo figures if they did manage to escape, must have been underground somehow. Shawn remembers tunnels, the DiMera specialty, goes to find someone who might know about them.

That would be Abe, who figures Shawn is probably right. Stefano had tunnels all over the place, but the only ones who would really know were Stefano & EJ. Then Abe figures there is another DiMera who might be able to help.

Maggie & Victor get into another argument about Summer, and then Theresa, and Victor is really nasty about them, no sympathy or compassion. Maggie gets very upset, Vic leaves to go check with John about Tate. Maggie is upset, Julie comes over, Maggie wails about Summer, Victor, Theresa. Julie is calm talks sense.

Mami & Blanca return to the club, Dario has called them. He gently tells them what happened at the blown up house, no bodies found. Eduardo has gone there to see what he could find. Mami begins talking of not making Rafe breakfast, he always said her food gave him strength, she smiles, like that guy in cartoons who always ate spinach. She talks of being hard on him, but only was thinking of his future. Dario assures her Rafe knows that, will tell her when he comes back.

John & Paul are waiting for word from Theresa & Brady, figure they can't do anything more except maybe check the leads received from Theresa TV plea.

Over in Vegas, Summer is packing u p her luggage, opens door to leave, Brady & Theresa are right there. They want answers, she denies taking Tate, Theresa must attack Summer over 1/2 dozen times, Brady intervening. Lots of wasted time, but Summer finally admits being blackmailed, told to take Tate, she refused, and decided to skip town and the country. More arguing, light bulbs going on for Brady, who remembers Clark's sister coming, asking questions, figures there is more, Summer admits she killed Clark, accidentally, covered it up. At first she doesn't have the phone number of the blackmailer, but then admits she does, gives it to Brady, who calls the number, leaves a message, will pay anything, no questions asked, just return Tate.

No answer comes back. Brady calls again, number has been disconnected, no new number assigned. He tells Summer she is coming to Salem with them.

Summer panics, pulls a knife, refusing to go, again denying she had anything to do with taking Tate, but telling Brady to check Victor, because, though he hates Summer, he hates Theresa ever more.

He phones John with the phone # info, etc. John begins a search, Victor is there now. So is Belle. He finds a company named Chopin Group, which has been dissolved, but he digs a bit more, finds the people involved in incorporating, Joseph Hayden, & several others, all names of by gone classical composers. Victor asks again the name .....Chopin Group.

Rafe continues to try and get Hope to take some water, she is running a high fever, is in and out of it. He keeps telling her to hang in there. At one point, he leaves the room, trying to find a way out....but she calls out to him, then is so out it, babbling about trying to find Rafe, she can't find him, has to find him. Rafe is reassuring her, he is there, he won't leave her, but she is unconscious.

Egads, hard to believe this is a sweeps month. But then, we got to see Eduardo for 30 seconds, same for Julie. I think Belle got about 45 seconds, as she was in a couple of scenes. LOL She even got a couple of lines. :sarcasm: And hey, even Abe got his monthly appearance. Good day in Salem,

Boy, Victor had quite the potty mouth today.

Interesting, since the music Deimos was playing last week (or the week before) was a Chopin piece. It was the Chopin piece that is the beginning of Barry Manilow's song, Could It Be Magic.

Brady, who remembers Clark's sister coming, asking questions, figures there is more, Summer admits she killed Clark, accidentally, covered it up

Okay, so she admits to killing someone, not someone we knew but still a person, and no one cares????

I'll have to give this a glance when it's on in my time zone, unless I need to defrost the freezer.:sarcasm:

It was rather humorous that she said she killed Clark and they barely batted an eye.
Brady is just jaded. After all, people hitting their heads and then dying is fairly common in Salem -- almost as common as kidnappings and comas. In fact, everything was par for the course in this episode: ample flashbacks of recent events, angry confrontations, a faux medical crisis, Aiden lying, Mami blathering, Jeannie T. screeching (Summer is lucky that the former brat girl didn't have a poker handy), Brady barking, Victor fuming and dishing dirt on Jeannie T., Summer explaining (sort of), and Maggie playing the role of a weeping blob of Jello,

Too many flashbacks, more wailing Maggie, blah, blah, blah. I hope Rafe and Hope are rescued soon because I don't know how much more of this I can take. I know it's only been a couple days but I'm done already. I did like the scenes with John, Paul, and Belle. I just wish Marlena were a part of this. I mean, for crying out loud, Tate is as much her grandson as he is John's. She should be involved.

A lot of things happened on today's show.

Summer admitted killing Clark... who cares.

Maggie wants the Victor she married back... it was interesting she told
Julie Victor changed when Deimos came to town..would Victor change
back if Deimos left?

I didn't realize Rafe watched Popeye cartoons. Is that the reason why he
became a cop?

Nice to see John with his daughter and son.

I used to feel about the cabins on the Love Boat like the hotel rooms in Salem. I have been on about 20 cruises and I know I pay extra for a slightly larger cabin with a balcony. It didn't matter how much money they had on the Love Boat, it seemed they all had a separate room ala a suite. That is WAY more than a balcony.

I never understood how Summer, Aiden etc. could afford to stay in a nice hotel instead of some "We'll leave the light on $50.00 a night" plain room.

Maggie is really over dramatic. It is the writing that has turned her into this ball of tears and anxiety. They brought in a child that I have forgotten why Daniel even suspected was his sister. She had no chemistry even as a con artist. Brady channeling Super Heroes and bringing her back without question. He is the first one to tell other people to think before they act but he cannot. Again, poorly written. We were subjected to Summer constantly while important existing characters were relegated to being drunk, disorderly and disgusting. Time and again they filled our minutes with eons of boring hand wringing and insinuations that were never going to amount to "I give a rat's backside about".

Jennifer may not have been on yesterday but I usually need a couple of days to recover from the ridiculous lines coming out of her mouth. She has become a shrill unlikable person. Did I mention it's the writing? JJ being all surly isn't helping.

I guess Rafe is the next best thing to Bo as far as being a good person to pair with Hope. The fact that she 'snapped' and shot Stefano (who goaded her for the sole purpose of that being the result) and then St. Rafe aided and abetted after the fact is a mere technicality. But again probably the DUMBEST story they could have written for her.

Earlier this year Hope (the actress) stated that when she saw the storyline and how meaty it was, she was on board and excited to play this story. I would love to be a fly on the wall in her dressing room now. I am Hope-ing her promise to Stefano about Chad is that she will intercede with Jennifer once Hope recovers from this life threatening situation. Of course, that could be Easter of next year in real time but Labor Day - Salem time.

One parting thought on Hope not returning Doug's calls and texts. Really people??

Ah, Mami was doing the same thing about her calls to Rafe being unanswered. Gee, she wonders if she maybe she should call his superior at work.

It used to be I thought that perhaps the rooms at the Salem Inn, the Martin House, etc. WERE $50 a night, $150 for the week rooms. Only the sleazy ones on the edge of town were the marked down $20 per night, - $10 for an hour.

Guess directions to the Salem Money tree are on the signs as you enter town. Help yourself, folks.

According to Summer/ & Brady, later, Daniel was in Salem, had been discovered to be the result of Maggie's egg & his father's sperm, and had learned of Maggie's early life, etc. So he remembered the "story" Summer had related to him of her upbringing, having been adopted, given to this couple by a woman who was raised on a farm, was orphaned, and crippled. So...he asked Summer for a DNA sample, sent her the kit. She misplaced it, then finally found it, sent it to him.

Now to me, that all took years..so...I don't believe Summer's background story for a second. I think she borrowed a story she heard from someone else. Now she may have been abandoned herself, maybe adopted, maybe ran away from home...who knows. But she certainly has lied over and over and over, so just not buying any of it. Maggie never got a DNA test herself between her & Summer, and I think whatever Summer sent to Daniel was something she got from the gal whose story she stole.
