I'm not liking this current re-write..... Another "surprise" child.... another major change of the timeline...... but I still like Leo.... he's different and weird...
 
It has happened over and over, another soap takes on a couple of actors who were super popular on one soap, figuring they will draw the fans, create the same chemistry....and they don't. I don't watch other soaps, but remember the soap mags gushing over Steve Nichols & Mary Beth Evans (Patch & Kayla) coming to GH, however they just did not have the same dynamic there as on Days. We certainly have seen it on Days, as well liked actors from another soap take on a character on Days, and it just does not work.

I agree Diana Colville was a nice person, but ....people do change as they age, at least most do. Perhaps his mother did not like the fact that Leo was gay, or maybe she regretted having to leave John/Roman, became bitter. Maybe Leo's father was a huge jerk to her, or maybe she just always resented having gotten pregnant with Leo, and took it out on him. Whatever happened, we will have to wait and see. Heck, maybe Leo has some sort of trust fund or inheritance his mother won't let him have.

I agree, and I think it's a sad attempt at stunt casting. For Leo fans like me, unnecessary. For Leo haters, more Leo story is a turn-off. Do they really expect this to work?

I again state that this would be less objectionable if she were playing Anjelica "It Didn't Take For Me Either" Deveraux, trying to re-establish her relationship with Leo and her other son, Alex. Imagine if Alex thought Leo/Sonny would be cool together. (Wouldn't be the first time a coupling had mutual half siblings. In fact it wouldn't be the fourth.)

Hear, hear, to all points. I actually watched GH for the reunion above, and man, did it disappoint.

I'm sincerely hoping (after joking about it in another thread) that Leo's father is Neil Curtis. If only so Rex will want to sleep with him, too; but also because it might give Leo a sympathetic ear in Sarah (and Sarah someone to soften her).
 
I also feel like this "Diana Colville/Cooper" idea isn't delivering on the ripple effects for any other couples that this story talked about in spoilers.

Now, Anjelica, nemesis of Adrienne and Justin and mastermind behind the dumb-elgänger story who's directly responsible for Adrienne's lockup, living in the Kmansion at Leo's insistence (at first, joined by Alex later)...wow. Tons of story there.

For John/Marlena, Diana was into ROMAN, who is single, and John/Marlena are past the kind of strife that Diana could bring.

I don't for a second think they'll be dumb enough to make Leo another spawn of John's.
 
If I remember right, Diana tried to help Roman find Marlena (when he thought she may still be alive). They were on some island, and Stefano had a Marlena double that they followed. There was a lot of back and forth, but she knew his one true love was Marlena, even after they decided she was truly dead. And she had all sorts of schemes with Victor and her mother all about money and a disk, so she's not necessarily the good person we are all remembering. She always had a good reason, but she also lied to him a lot! She did leave of her own accord, I believe after he got shot because of her.

All that said, making Roman/John the love of her life is just doesn't ring true. I hope that Leo is NOT another long lost son of John's. I'm not sure I'm excited for a new actress to fill the part that Genie Francis had .... but anything that brings John & Marlena back to the screen is worth a try, even if this story feels forced.

Yes, Diana did help Roman/John try to find Marlena who was believed to be dead, but they eventually discovered a woman Stefano hired to pretend to be Marlena (from a distance; her face never shown to them in the videos/pictures).

Diana did have some shadiness going on with Victor and her mother, Serena, but she loved Roman/John and his children. She was very loving with them. They even gave her a star with her name on it for their Christmas tree, something Roman and Marlena had started. There were stars for Roman, Marlena, Carrie, Sami and Eric.

I can believe that Roman/John was the love of her life, but that love wasn't reciprocated.

I wonder if they initially tried to get Genie Francis(ex-Diana) when she was having contract issues with GH last year. I know she has said she wasn't happy when she was on the show previously but things change.

Nice to see Marlena so heavily featured in these spoilers. I need the townhouse set back.

Melinda Trask threatens Marlena to keep quiet about Haley. [Charming Melinda should keep her nastiness confined to the courtroom. She can get away with bullying hapless defendants, but once she starts messing with Marlena, she's headed for trouble.]
