6/14/21 - Donuts and Cookie Table

Cucumber slices, salt & pepper, then a bit of vinegar & sugar mixed together, poured over. I just then add some milk, but others use sour cream, or mayonaise. (I only do one cuke, which for me, works fine for one meal, two if it is just me.) Mix it all up.

I never heard of it either.

My mom made something with cucumber slices with vinegar. I don't remember if it had sugar.
What she made didn't have milk.

My mom used to use half & half I believe. but you do have to do the vinegar on sugar, not much of either. Trouble is, we get used to not using specific amts. so hard to give a recipe, lol.

My version is peeled and sliced cucumbers. First I let them sit in salt to release the extra moisture, then drain off the liquid and salt. Then I add Miracle Whip, white wine vinegar, milk and pepper and mix until blended. If I used mayonnaise I'd add a bit of sugar, but the Miracle Whip is sweet & tangy already.

Oops, I forgot that I thinly slice a small onion and put that in right away with the cucumbers and salt, leaving it in there all the way through.
