Good morning all.......pitch dark here, so cannot tell you anything about up here except it is 50 right now, the furnace runs at night, so it has to drop even more, the sun was out all day yesterday......and the question on the radio yesterday was what do you call the 2nd full moon in a month......yep, Blue Moon. In contrast to the Black moon which is tonight. Since I have not seen any moon in weeks, could not prove anything by me. LOL Yukky weather.

My son is probably coming today with the doggies again....guess he will be hunting.

Getting a bit light out now, but......looks all gloomy and overcast. Sure hope that changes. I do not see any signs of a white clouds, sunrise, etc. Still early, so who knows?

Have a good one. (I love French toast! )

Good morning everyone. I went to the store yesterday and got stuff to make chili, just in time for this cold snap. It was 54* here when I got up. Sparky had to have his heater and I had to put on sweats, lol. It's supposed to be only 82* today and breezy, a big contrast to the upper 90*s we've been having during the day.

I wonder why two new moons in a month is more rare than two full moons. I'll have to research that, since I love astronomy.

Take care my friends.

Good Morning,

Overcast and gloomy morning, 70% chance for rain with a high temp of 64 today.

Barb - enjoy the visit with your son. Any news on how your daughter is feeling?

Red - here's to hoping you have an easy day at work.

kt - enjoy your chili. 82* sounds too warm to me to want chili, but I guess it's a matter or perspective. :) Like my trip to New Orleans one November many years ago, it was 80* with 90% humidity and people were wearing winter coats, I was wearing a sundress. :rotfl:

JS - good for you, fixing the toilet seat. Sounds like something I would do.

My husband is planning for us to go out for dinner with my father-in-law tonight. I'd rather pick up take out and go to his house, but there's not talking my husband into that. My father-in-law gets so confused and lost when he leaves the house, it's a struggle.

I had Gena read "Are You My Mother" to me last night, she did pretty well. Trying to pick books for her to read to me at bedtime that I know she'll know the majority of the words and be able to sound out the rest.

Happy Friday everyone!

Morning all.

Manda, when I worked for a school district, I had to test the reading skills of every student. I'd go to a classroom and one by one take the student out of the class, hand them a page with a paragraph on it and ask the student to read it with a timer running that they could see. They had to finish the paragraph without a mistake in the time limit. So, let's see. Stranger, asking me to read out loud and a text I've never seen. What could go wrong????

After the 3rd student, I turned the timer around so they couldn't see it and turned the sound off. I'd talk to them a bit before testing so I wasn't so scary. Guess what? The scores went up. But according to the reading specialist, I'd ruined the testing.

I said why, because if I hand you a book off the shelf behind you and highlighted a paragraph from a random page and turned on a 3 minute timer, you could read it to a complete stranger out loud with no errors??? I can read. But give me those parameters and I'll make mistakes.

Keep up the good work with Gina. Help build her confidence so when she meets up with that wicked reading specialist, she will know she can read regardless of what she's told.

I'll try to catch the Black moon tonight.

This is the big weekend. So I don't know if I'll be online much. I'll try to check in. My youngest son is in town. He got pulled over in AZ for not stopping fully at a stop sign. After a check of outstanding wants and warrants, he was let go with just a warning. But the cop did look over his Latina wife. Had he asked for her papers, which is now legal in AZ, I'm sure I'd be at the courthouse bailing them out.

I hope all have a good weekend, and nice weather.

A busy morning. Today I had to take Goldie out and get a flea bath. When
I went to the vet Monday, they found evidence of fleas. I was told what you
buy in stores, Frontline, etc no longer works. I bought pills which cost more.

JS, can you visit me? I have several things that need fixing :)

manda, enjoy your evenings with Gena reading. I'm sure she'll get caught up in no time.
I hope the dinner goes well with your father in law

Poirot, enjoy your weekend with your son. I hope your daughter is doing better.

robin, I hope your weekend goes well with your family.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the day.

Good morning. You are all experiencing Fall weather to one degree or the other. Today it will be 96F here. I am so tired of the Sun and heat. Just ship your cold weather COD to me.

Mornings are the weakest for me on this recovery journey so I am closing for now. Take care.

Poirot - Enjoy your son for the weekend

KT - as soon as it turns cold here my husband is asking for chili. Enjoy

JS - duct tape and Gorilla glue! Every house should have them! They sure don't make toilet seats like they used too. Up until a couple years ago we still had the wooden seats and my husband said they are so outdated. Soooo, we got new ones. Within a week, the cheap plastic broke on one of them!

Robinsnest - I'm with you on the testing! Sad, really sad

Noel - keep getting better! You're in my thoughts and prayers

Ember is really sick and stayed home again today. My daughter is really worried the baby is going to get it also. She had a temp of 102 and coughing now. Poor little thing. We went to their house to babysit and she just climbed up in Papa's lap and asked him to read her a story. She was asleep in 5 minutes.

Have a great day
