It was warmer in Sacramento yesterday than in Phoenix, and by a lot....... We here in the desert are looking at a cool down and possible rain courtesy of Hurricane Kay, the storm will go up the west coast of Mexico and some of the outer bands may hit us..... you know you are desperate for rain when you are hoping a hurricane hits you.......

I now have the Indian in the Canoe painting at the house so now to figure out when to drive it to Sacramento and give it to my son.... the cost of shipping is over$1000 so driving is more cost efficient.

I have items to take to the mail, not the painting, today..... didn't get that done yesterday....

heard that someone I had worked with had passed away suddenly over the weekend. have to face and deal with that little nugget of news......

But it's Wednesday.... have a great Wednesday.....

Hi all - so I found out why I am still having pain. My CT showed 2 more abscesses in my colon so they are referring me to a specialist. I will have to have surgery sooner rather than later. I got an appt on the 15th - wish it was sooner as I am in a lot of pain but it was better than Oct which was the other option.

Robin - sorry about your co-worker.
WW - I would love that weather about now.

Have a good day all!

dachsie21 - I am sorry for your pain and diagnosis. Waiting is difficult. Have faith, time will go quickly. Wishing you well.

Yep, summer is back, 82 here today, even higher tomorrow. Went to WalMart, freezing inside, & I made sure had on light sweater. Left store , egads, immediate oven.

A busy Wed for me. I went to the church library this morning. The head librarian couldn't get there today.

Later I went with my neighborhood friend to her church's circle meeting. I've been going with her for
several years now. We used to meet in the evenings. We're going to meet at noon now for lunch. Today
we figured out our schedule for the year. One day this week, I need to send the schedule out to all the
members who weren't there. Next month, we're going to do a cookout at someone's house. Hopefully,
it won't rain.

dachsie, sorry to hear you'll need surgery. I hope you get in before your appt.

robin, sorry to hear about your former co-worker.

Wilde Woman, I hope the it's not too hot where you are.

Poirot, I understand about Walmart. You take a jacket for inside then leave into the wall of heat.

I hope everyone has the best evening they can have.

The heat is hanging on here too. Upper 90s*. No rain in sight for at least the next 10 days. A cool down to 89 on Sunday and Monday but then right back up. I went to town this morning. Not the Walmart town but my drug store town, only 25 miles away. Had to get in and out of the car several times and it felt dreadfully hot. I picked up a plate at the diner and brought it home to eat.

Robin, I saw where that hurricane might bring some rain your way. I hope it does. I've wished for hurricanes before. Their rain doesn't usually make it this far north but when it does, it can be a lot. Arg, that big picture! I bet you'll be glad to get that delivered and off your hands. I'm sorry about the loss of your work friend.

Kat, you did have a busy day! Time to kick up your heels for a relaxing evening.

Poirot, I'm with you on freezing in Walmart. The heat that hits me in the face when I walk out feels good for about a minute but by the time I get to the car, and especially inside the car, whew, an oven!

Wilde Woman, I don't know whether 76% humidity with 70* makes it feel hotter or colder??

Dachsie, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this current issue, and that you have to wait for relief. I hope it will ultimately get you on the path to being pain free and feeling good again.

Couple years ago, a WalMart employee told me that they (employees, managers, etc.) cannot do anything about the temp. It evidently is controlled remotely by the suits, & doesn't matter where we live, how many customers in the store, etc. Customers constantly complain.......
I doubt the founder of WalMart, Sam Walton, would tolerate such a situation if he was still alive.

yeah, folks take sweaters, jackets with them when planning a WalMart visit. I see the tourists in shorts, flip flops, tank tops........they don't stay long inside, it seems.

I've been told Walmart puts the coolers on the edge of the grocery store higher in summer to keep
food cold. The stores can't control how cold it is.

Perhaps the local mgmnt can control the coolers, but they cannot control the air temps thru out the store.. That is controlled elsewhere.
This past spring, there must have been some work being done on the freezer area, as even the deli got affected. All salad items, lunch meats, etc. were pre-done, in small containers, covered and put in areas near the meat countersd. People were not happy, as the amts were not what they wanted. Whatever the reason, it is all back to normal now. All the freezer areas are next to each other, ice cream, pizzas, frozen meals, etc. Bad enough it is so cold in other parts of the store, clothing, hardware, etc., but combine the air temp with the cold emanating from the food coolers...brrrrrr.
