SPOOF.....6/5/15 Days of Our Lives

At the hospital, various staff is rushing around. An elderly man who had just collapsed, had been brought into the ER, and was undergoing test after test. The ER doctor goes to see Kayla for a consult, they then call in Dr. Dan to assist them. The John Doe test results are astonishing. There is a brain tumor, which has been there a long time, but has not increased, or caused any further damage, is more or less dormant. In addition, the patient has had both a liver & kidney transplant, but is testing negative for drugs ordinarily taken. Besides showing evidence of vast burns over most of his body, which have healed with barely any scarring, plus the man is diabetic. As Kayla & Dan read all these findings, the light bulbs are going on, and they realize this sounds exactly like Stefano DiMera.
They rush down to ER, sure enough. They recommend holding a brandy snifter under Stefano's nose, should revive him instantly.
The ER doc scoffs, but decides to try it. And Voila, Stefano bounces off the table, pulls out a cigar, chuckles, and is quickly gone.

Over at Daniel's apartment, Nicole has convinced Lou to let her into the place, she wants to surprise him, and decides to give the place a good vacuuming. She gets to work (don't faint, anyone, we are actually seeing a Salemite doing housework), does the carpeting, then figures the sofa could use a good cleaning as well. She is doing the cushions, when spots something shiny. Off goes the vacuum, she picks it up. A beautiful diamond. She is puzzled, but continues, finishes, then proceeds to dust and polish the furniture. She sees the broken Fred, is surprised, and when she picks it up, the base swings away, she sees the compartment, looks closely....is that diamond dust? Uh, oh. She realizes why Serena was there, switching elephants. It all is making sense, finally.

Will has finished his article on Clyde, turns it in to Zoe, who lets Chad know she has it. She figures Clyde will be happy, tis really a puff piece, but Clyde is ticked off. The article is not the way he wanted it written. He complains to Kate, saying Will betrayed him, did not follow his "suggestions". When Kate makes excuses, defending Will, he gets nasty, which surprises Kate.

Xander has met up with Serena, giving her a hard time once again, as Serena tries to get him to lay off Nicole, and stay away from Eric. But Xander reminds her that though the man they have been working for is from a hick town in Missouri, he is NO hick, and one who wants his own way, no matter what.

Ben sits looking at his driver's license, the name Weston on it, and begins recalling his days of running with Jordan, all she did for him. He recalls various conversations with his father, all the sweet talk, the promising he was a new man, got counseling, is so sorry for all he did back when Ben & Jordan were so young. And then he recalls the conversation he overheard between Clyde & Jordan, how Clyde was apologizing to her, and how she said those words "It was RAPE".

Chad is kissing Abby, who is wholeheartedly kissing him back. They are in the DiMera garden, getting very passionate, when they hear a voice. It is Clyde, so sorry to be interrupting, and in Clyde's special way, he notes that Abby is supposed to be with Ben right now, & Chad is doing his little boy wrong. He smiles, departs.

Victor gets a call, he scowls, thanks the person for the information. He paces a bit, makes a decision, picks up his phone.

In the square, Clyde sits, smiling, as Victor joins him. They spar a bit in their conversation, have a drink, beat around the bush a bit, but Victor wants more privacy as they talk over their "business". Over to the "private" park area, Victor will come along in a couple of minutes. Clyde sits on the bench, is yawning, seems a bit sleepy. Suddenly, the lights go out everywhere. A power outage. By the bit of moonlight, we see a shadowy figure, the glint of a knife. The figure is gone. But there is another, a similar momentary reflection of a blade. A moan. The figure is gone. Clyde has fallen to the side of the bench, but there are other shadowy figures that appear, we hear a thud at times, and they vanish.

The lights are back on, Clyde lays in a huge pool of blood on the bench. Multiple stab wounds & bullets. A police whistle, cops come running. Hope arrives, Roman, Abe, even Rafe shows up. They all stare. Hmm, it appears Clyde is dead, with different kinds of wounds, therefore seemingly killed by different people. Damn it, says Roman, how the heck could this happen?

And so my friends...who needs Murder on the Orient Express when we have Murder on the Salem Park Bench. Oh, Benchie could tell us plenty. But...what do YOU think?

For those who never read the book, or saw the movie, Murder on the Orient Express was set on a train, where a very wealthy, but despicable man was found dead in his compartment, multiple stab wounds, apparently adminstered in different ways, and Hercule Poirot was able to solve what happened. (The entire story evolved from a baby being kidnapped years before, and was found dead, despite ransom request. Think Lindberg baby kidnapping)

Thus, this Days episode is based on that premise....and I tried to keep within the present Days story. Just thought it might be fun for you all, to guess the ......well, tell what you think.

LOL Poirot. I know it originated on Murder on the Orient Express but a multiple-method murder always makes me think of poor Peter Campbell on Soap, who was stabbed, shot, strangled, suffocated, and bludgeoned.

As to the "killer" of Clyde, whoever did it gets a medal from me. I say Gabi snuck out of prison, wasted Clyde, and will get a pardon for prior murders from the governor (thanks to Victor) for the act. Then a distraught Maggie leaves Vic and goes to Tennessee to visit Sarah. LOL
