We get a snoozer to end the week. Just as we had one to begin the week.
Gabi and Stefan talk about Kristen and EJ's absence. Megan told Stefan that Kristen went to New York, but points out she left her phone. Gabi says that Rafe is the only one coming but he's been so busy with Abe's case, thinks the party will be lame, thinks Dimitri is scraping the bottom of the barrel with Gwen.
Stefan says that the party will be great, at least Chad is coming. They also talk about Megan insisting on the party, Gabi needs help getting into her dress, they head upstairs, joking about "getting it up" (meaning the zipper). They decide to take clothes off and make love first. Stefan floats the idea of them doing what everyone else has so far, skipping their own party, to stay in bed. Later, however, they're dressed in the Square talking about how great the party will be.
In the basement, EJ wonders if Stefan already died, but Kristen doubts it. They scream for help, EJ wonders how she fooled Nicole and can't believe Nicole would've fallen for Megan's story, keeps worrying about her and struggling. Kristen tells EJ that Nicole is the least of their worries, cracks a few jokes about cannibalism being the DiMera way, can't believe she fell for Megan's trick and thinks they'll both die. EJ doesn't think they can escape, doesn't think they're in imminent danger. But he'd be a fool for underestimating her, doesn't know what Megan has done to Stefan.
Eric keeps telling Nicole to take deep breaths, but she has been through this twice already, thinks she's about to miscarry. Eric tells her that isn't true, reassures her but she is skeptical even though she isn't spotting or frequently cramping. Nicole can't relax despite the OB's advice, is touched by Eric's kindness. Eric tells her that despite Jada and their constant barriers, he still cares for her. He's here for her even if EJ isn't.
Nicole appreciates it but doesn't deserve to be comforted, Eric stops her and says he questions a lot about his faith, but knows the Lord doesn't punish people this way, is going to check on the doctor. Later on, Eric returns, Nicole informs him that the doctor says the baby is fine and she has round ligament pain, which apparently is normal. Eric is happy, Nicole must just rest and drink enough water.
Kate's at the Pub trying to contact Harris, but Li is outside the Pub texting from Harris' phone that everything went according to plan. But not according to her plan, he smirks and says. The texts continue as Kate invites Harris to come to the Pub and get treated to a drink by Kate. Li wonders what to do, but replies that he's moving Megan somewhere secure, so the drink will have to wait.
Stephanie and Chad then enter the Pub (how did they not see shady Li right outside?). Kate greets them, thinks they're overdressed for the Pub, Chad admits they just came by to check on Kate after Abe. They go over how sad this all is, mention they're going to Gabi & Stefan's engagement party. Kate realizes Megan invited them, asks when the invitation was sent and he says a little while ago.
Kate says she is staying away from Megan, Chad warns her to avoid the bistro because she'll be there, Kate badmouths Megan and her son, thanks them for saving her. Chad and Stephanie are glad she is OK and leave for the party, say their goodbyes, Kate calls "Harris."
Meanwhile, Rolf and Megan are looking at Harris, who is unconscious and going through the procedure. It's a new one because he once already escaped from her grip. Rolf assures Megan that this will be Stefan's last night on Earth. Megan keeps voicing doubts as Rolf reassures her, then she rambles about DiMera Enterprises needing to be hers and not Gabi's, she can't release Kristen or EJ.
Predictably, Rolf has an injection to wipe Kristen's and EJ's minds, is loyal to Megan who says he is a genius. Megan takes the dose to administer on her way to the party, hopes Harris won't let her down again. In the lab, Rolf informs a now-awake Harris about his very important mission.
Dimitri is happy to have run into Wendy & Johnny, everyone is glad they can celebrate the engagement tonight. The DiMeras on the invite list seems scarce, so they can help make up the presence. He thinks the celebration will be great, leaves. They small talk about Gabi being close to Wendy, everything that happened with Li is in the past, she is happy that he finally came to his senses. At the mansion, Megan is talking to Li (now in the Square) who says she will take care of Kate. They hang up. Li runs into Wendy and Johnny, who says they're going to the engagement. Li doesn't want them to.
Meanwhile, Megan looks at Stefano's portrait and says she is doing what's best for the family, he never knew and wouldn't have liked the weak Stefan. She approaches the secret door as Dimitri walks in and asks what she is doing. In the Square, Li gets Kate's call, Wendy notes he finally changed the ringtone but doesn't answer, says it's a telemarketer.
Li doesn't want them to go because Stefan humiliated him, but understands she likes Gabi, wants them to watch their backs because of DiMeras. Afterwards, Li happens upon Gabi and Stefan, congratulates them and says Wendy is on her way. Gabi thinks he is edgy beyond the obvious awkwardness, he denies it. He steps away to hear Kate's voicemail about going to the party because she heard that Megan is going to the party and got loose.
Leo and Gwen continue the same conversation about Dimitri and how Leo better not drink too much tonight. She is getting ready for the event, Gwen asks if Leo is jealous, which Leo denies and starts talking about Dimitri's "piece". The same conversations goes on and on and on, they start talking about how they were meant to be friends.
Later, Leo admits he is a bit jealous that he is alone while Gwen is finding her Prince Charming, perhaps she is right, Leo is still suspicious though, is going to do some digging while she is gone. Gwen can't believe he is still suspicious, there isn't an ulterior motive, wants him to drop it, he tells her to not accept the proposal tonight.
Megan says she was going to get a bottle, couldn't respond to Dimitri's texts because she was busy party planning, wants Dimitri to be confident about Gwen after he tells her she hasn't yet accepted the proposal. She reminds him of what's at stake, he knows and leaves. Megan heads downstairs. Leo shows up, peeking in through the open back doors.
Megan tells EJ and Kristen that Stefan will be dead within the hour now that she is all prepared. She fills them in on her plans and what happened with Rolf and Harris. Megan admits that Stefano wouldn't be happy if she killed them, EJ swears their silence if she releases them but Megan doesn't trust their words. Megan brings out the needle and sticks Kristen, telling her plans to them.
Upstairs, Leo is recording his entry, couldn't hear the conversation between "Count Dracula" and his mother, but knows something is hidden downstairs. He walks down just as Nicole and Eric enter. Eric sits Nicole down and offers to get Nicole water and soup, but she stops him. Nicole knows today was probably hard on Eric but it meant a lot to her, they're glad he was there, hug. Meanwhile, Kristen and EJ feel their memories slipping away (Megan is gone), how can they help Stefan? Leo walks in and is shocked to find EJ and Kristen tied up.
Megan and Kate run into each other at the Square, Megan jokes she smells fish. Kate is furious with Harris as Megan walks away to something very important. Elsewhere, Li enters the lab, Rolf informs him about Harris being up and gone, Li is worried about his sister at the party but Rolf says Michaels is only programmed to target Stefan. Li reminds Rolf of his failures before but Rolf says the procedure now is perfected and complete, Li will be a happy beneficiary. Li thinks Gabi will be his now and his hands will be clean.
Chad and Stephanie greet Johnny and Wendy in the bistro. Stephanie has heard only good things about Wendy from Tripp, but thought they were dating. She realizes it's awkward. Wendy updates them on the situation, Johnny stumbles over an answer and Chad says it isn't their business and hopes they have a fun night. Dimitri arrives with Gwen and they greet people. He says she is his date, hopes she'll accept his wedding proposal, Stephanie asks if they knew each other from Europe, Gwen denies it. Update on the situation for Chad and Stephanie, who disapprove.
Gabi and Stefan walk in seeing a "room full of people who hate us, and each other." They wish they stayed home, wonder where the hostess is, at least they can spend time together in bed later. Megan finally shows up with a bottle of Stefano's favorite champagne. She gives a speech about the importance of family, grateful that everyone welcomed her back and is here. A few people crack jokes during the speech, Megan congratulates her newfound brother and his beautiful bride-to-be, looks forward to the years to come to get to know each other, wants people to grab champagne glasses as Harris shows up and draws a gun.
