Days of Our Lives - Friday, Nov. 8, 2013

I watched Friday evening... I know I'm strange... but if i was in a church and on the big screen they showed something as ah..... "adult" as what was being displayed and a mini argument broke out and then someone started it over so we could watch it again.... I'd not hang out since I was an invited guest...I'd pick my gift up of the gift table and leave.... but then again this is Salem and no one has a working brain.....
I don't worry about Victor but Maggie is going to be upset...
I agree with folks about why wasn't Kristen arrested for Rape??? if it had been the other way around the guy would have been....
Next week will be drawn out....

The more I'm thinking about it, the less satisfying I'm finding this big reveal. Kristen didn't suffer nearly enough. Maybe some of that is coming with Brady (or is it?) but after all she has done it seemed to me that she should have had to deal with more public disgrace and, yes, been taken into custody rather than being allowed to go home, release her pony tail and pour herself a nice stiff drink.

It's also bothering me that they made Marlena look like such an blithering idiot and that she ended up having to defend herself in front of all those people and didn't do a very good job of it, either. I do realize that she was in shock from seeing the video but this part of The Plot, I hate. It's horrible enough for a mother to discover her son (a priest, no less) has been raped but to have to watch it and then be attacked for having faked it, how sick is that? As someone else pointed out earlier in this thread, even though she's hopefully lost Brady for good, Kristen still wins because she has accomplished what she set out to do by raping Eric, taking revenge on Marlena.

So not a satisfying reveal at all, for me.

I noticed when Jordan asked Rafe why he left the FBI, and stayed in Salem, Rafe didn't mention Sami. Is it a rewrite, or does Rafe just not want to discuss Sami with Jordan?

I think it is working both ways. A rewrite because when Rafe was talking with Gabi in the hospital he made mention that he has never spent more than three months with anyone and she knows all about him. That kind of erased the Safehouse with Sami all those months. On the other hand he said family was moe important than the job and being around them and I think he just didn't want to mention Sami to Jordan because of the pAin it causes him.

I don't expect Kristen to get arrested for anything. I think this is another reason I hate this SL. The Dimeras always get away with everything. It's probably why I'm such a fan of Sami shooting EJ in the head (back when Sami still had a functioning brain, and loved Rafe).

I really hope the conversations between Eric/Marlena and Brady/Kristen deliver.

Hope and Jennifer just leaving was very anti-climatic to.

Jennifer, our belovèd Jennifer, would have been scooping the heck out of the truth, and would have made sure everyone in the room knew what had gone down.

This unrecognisable, heart-transplanted, Dan-smooching, DiMera-clone-esque blonde lady occupying the Horton House...stood there, mouth agape, and bolted before she could do anything. Somehow I think she will make this all about HER pain and HER loss.

(And this is really a sore spot for me, because Kristen and Jennifer were really friends at one point. Before the slimy ooze that was EJ was even a thought in any DiMera henchman's brain.)

:OT: but related true story: A friend, who was separated from his wife, took a female friend to a local restaurant. His wife's brother saw him there, and called his sister. The wife flew to the restaurant, walked up to my friend's table, picked up his full plate, and dumped it on his lap. He calmly picked his dinner off his lap, and followed the dumper out to the parking lot. As he was talking to her, he happened to glance back at the restaurant, to see that what looked like the rest of the patrons were standing at the windows, watching the show. Folks are lookie-loos!:D

Jennifer had no problem creating quite the scene at the hospital, 2 or 3 times already. She did not care who was there, who was trying to get her to calm down, shut up, etc. She blasted away, not giving the other person much of a chance to say boo. She had no real proof, etc. etc.
But now, after that sorry exhibition by her so-called friend, with proof of what transpired right before her eyes, she keeps mum to the world, actually allowing everyone there to think the worst of the priest. And she knows the truth.

You know, I am one who has loved to see the vets, have them around, etc. But I do not enjoy seeing them become someone else entirely.

I was thinking maybe he just doesn't want to tell Jordan yet that he was fired. He doesn't know her that well and that's not something people like to say voluntarily, even to people they do know. But I agree it could be due to Sami as well.

I'm convinced the writers of this show are treating the entire show like a blank slate. No respect for character history whatsoever.

Congratulations, Brady, you've just won the Idiot of the Aeon award.

Between flashing from the wedding to Cameron and Abigail, I couldn't tell if I they wanted me to be awake or asleep. The show can definitely lose those two.

Rafe was married to Sami, and why should he want to discuss that marriage with his therapist? So far, she has said nothing about her life before coming to Salem, hesitating to even share something small from "when she was a Kid".

They are taking tiny baby steps, stumbling, falling, getting back up again, on the road to being friends. Right now, Jordan is still her wound tight self.

Thanks for the write-up, but I actually saw this episode live because the lunch ladies put it on the TV in the cafeteria. So good! I just didn't like the filler Abigail scenes. But Nicole's scenes were really nice! Great to see her visit Rafe! I loved Jordan and the flashbacks. So much chemistry between her and Rafe! I am also hoping Daniel and Nicole get together again. Did anyone else notice the disappointed, rejection look Jennifer shot Kristen in the church? LOVED IT!!

Hey Everyone I know I haven't posted in awhile, but man friday's episode was the best in a LONG time for me. The fact that everyone in the church watched that tape a second time?! so funny… I am going to miss Kristen's craziness along with her facial expressions.
This S/L and fallout sets up great drama and I for one can't wait. This almost makes up for the snooze fest of the last few months.
I loved Victor and Marlena teaming up. Also the fact maybe this could tear EJ and Sami apart (fingers crossed) for good.
I can't believe I am gushing about a DAYS S/L...:rotfl::clap:

An interesting show on Friday.

I laughed too when Victor started playing the video again
and people kept watching it. People started to leave and
stayed to watch it. How many times has the video been shown on
the show and we still watch it? Let's hope no one took a picture
of it and will put on the internet later.

I laughed when Abby told Daniel he didn't wait five minutes
before he was with Theresa. Reminded me of all the posts about
Jen not waiting after Jack died to be with Daniel.

I, also, laugh when someone in Salem calls a person golden
since people discuss the "golden couple".

The end was Eric and Marlena was sad. She didn't know until
it was too late that Victor used her to save Brady, but now
Eric is in trouble.

I loved Jordan's remark to Rafe - to the effect that she didn't assume he was talking about Kate as his friend who was having problems...because she knows he has many female admirers (no kidding!).

I finally watched the entire episode and I've seen the wedding scenes 3 times now.

I was underwhelmed by Marlena's initial reaction to Kristen's rants. I know she was shellshocked but Kristen thinks much faster on her feet. Maybe it's just the Dimera in her :)

EJ was downright obnoxious and letting his true Dimera colors shine. If this doesn't wake Sami up, I don't know what else will. Something will have to happen to one of the kids I think. For once, I give kudos to the writers for actually writing EJ as a Dimera. That's the way it always should be done. And I can't believe Sami actually walked out on Eric when he was clearly so distraught. That annoyed me.

I'm still not sold on Rafe and Jordan at all. I'm more curious about her identity than anything else. And the fake Nike swoosh on Rafe's jacket in the Square was distracting and just looked out of place. I've also never seen someone wears heels with scrubs.

Should Rafe be lifting weights without hospital supervision?

Jennifer's dress was odd for a church wedding though I liked her attitude with Brady.

Loved the scenes with Nicole and Rafe and the ones with Nicole, Parker and Daniel. A great example of the tv show serving as a role model for fans was in the Game Night with Nicole, Parker and Daniel. I'd be curious how many fans of the show played a board game with the family on Friday night or at least thought about playing one. Life does imitate art.

I have to agree Writer...and can't help but compare the 'big reveal' here with the 'who's the baby's father' reveal at Nick and Gabi's botched nuptials. Do you remember how Hope had to prevent Rafe from attacking Chad more than once when he thought that maybe Chad was the father (warning Rafe that he could be charged with assault and maybe lose his badge) ..and then having Rafe learn from Nick that Will was the baby's father....like two reveals in the same episode! Think I found this fiasco just a little more 'juicy' than the Kristen/Brady one.....maybe because the audience knew in advance that it was pretty likely that the CD's would be switched and the scandal shown to all in attendance.

I second this, I thought Nick and Gabi's nuptials were the juicier event. More Salemites in attendance. More unexpected outcomes.
(no soft porn).

If this doesn't wake Sami up, I don't know what else will. Something will have to happen to one of the kids I think.

Even then, Sami would not care, since something already happened to her kids : Sydney was kidnapped by EJ and he made Sami think she was dead, and when Johnny had cancer, EJ forced Sami to tell him she did not love him anymore. So really, there's no hope for Sami.

Plus, Sami's children think Stefano is a kindly old grandpa who loves to play board games with them, and Sami is just fine with that. In what world would Samantha Gene Brady think it was acceptable to allow her children to cozy up to the man who has tortured her family since before her birth??
