Days of Our Lives - Mon., Mar. 18, 2024

Thanks, Jason.

Wow, just wow. John admitted to Marlena he helped Clyde escape. How long will it be before the whole town knows?

Nice to see Brady and Eric together. It's been awhile. I'm glad Brady will Jude's godfather and Eric will talk to Holly.

EJ was more annoying than usual. Talking to Stefan about all the countries he could go to.

Poor John. He wants to turn himself in. Maybe Marlena needs to hold a group hypnosis session to find out the truth
about how Konstantin's daughter died.

Talking to Stefan about all the countries he could go to.

I find it "strange" that Stefan at least didn't mention Alamainia. Vivian would love to have him there, and, as mentioned many times before, no extradition. All that "fun" dialog between E.J. and Stefan was for effect only. Do better writers!

Pity poor John — he’s getting as bad as Konstantin — making wild accusations about himself for things done as a mindless pawn. Worse, he’s squawking at poor Doc and Steve for supposedly concealing incriminating “facts” about himself. To borrow a line from “Peanuts,” “you need help Charlie Brown.”

Idiot EJ as the moral guardian of the DiMera family is a joke. Sure, Stefan Zero is a dunce, but he rates better treatment from a family member. That said, all is not lost. Indonesia reportedly has no extradition treaty with the U.S., meaning Zero could take up residence on the popular destination of Bali where he could sponge money from affluent women tourists.

Finally, Sloan and Eric need to rethink their child’s relationship with Leo. Why not make him an honorary uncle? Who knows, maybe Leo could end up wealthy and could help pay for the kid’s college tuition.

And Holly thinks of Jude as a brother? Has she even seen him?
Yes, there was a day when Eric had newborn Jude out in his carriage, and ran into Nicole and Holly in the square. They had breakfast together. Holly held Jude and fussed over him. Sloan saw them across the square and Leo needled her, saying they looked like a happy little family.

Edited to add:

Found the episode; it was Christmas, after Holly got drunk on her birthday the night before and passed out at the DiMansion.

And let's be real, since Holly grew 10+ years are we supposed to pretend that there was some decade long relationship? He married her mother and then bolted. Awful writing.
This, this, so much THIS as the youths say!! It took me awhile to accept Brady & Eric "grew up as brothers" which is the story now, but I accepted it because it was consistent through a couple regimes.

But this group aged Holly & Tate and when exactly did they grow up? Clearly they don't remember being a fugitive pseudofamily? So shouldn't she think of EJ as a father? Anyone but Eric who has been functionally absent from her life for its entirety.

Excellent thinking. I think the writers think people like smug EJ (when I've only ever seen positive reactions to romantic EJ in this incarnation and EJ on the backfoot).

I didn't realize so many people didn't like John. I like him, but think he should be more of a cop/PI/business guy leading younger generations and not boo-hooing about his past. People with reprogrammable brains and grown grandchildren shouldn't be swooning because they finally met their "weal dad-dee". (real daddy)

Tate no sooner met Holly in the park that first day, then she was offering him weed. Meantime, everyone thinks she is so wonderful, a sweet angel. She has been experimenting with drugs for a while, and then Nicole knows she got drunk, so why is she so convinced she is not capable of using drugs on her own? Tate is so innocent and naive, he gave Holly so many chances, and she let him down each time. He needs to move on.

Stefan in Alamania is a great idea. As the son of Vivian, he probably already has an Alamainian passport and would be welcomed there with open arms. Any extradition request would be rudely brushed aside. (E.g., “it is well known that no member of the Alamain family can receive justice in the United States.”) Once in his historic homeland, Zero could take up residence in a luxurious villa, dine at five star restaurants, enjoy the sun on the Alamanian riviera, ski in the Alamanian Alps, and spend many hours winning big at the Grand Casino de Alamania. And if Clyde or any of his toughs came after him, they’d be scooped up by the Alamanian Secret Police and never be seen again.

We mostly saw this type of thing with JJ being the saint and Theresa being the worst person ever. And of course Abigail has also always been saint. And here I am usually hating the person they want me to think of this way.

Seriously. And Eric as the biggest father figure in her life when he was the one that killed her real father is extra rich.

It would be helpful to newer viewers, (and those who memory might fail them) if, when speaking of the past, we clarify better.
