Tis Eric's birthday, Nicole has taken Holly over to Maggie's, then stopped for a birthday surprise...she takes off her robe, new sexy negligee. Doesn't take long they are on the sofa, kissing, ignoring the knock at the door. Oops, tis mom, Eric continues to ignore, but she knows where he hides the key, and is coming in. They grab Nicole's robe, she is covered, Marlena is inside, oh, gosh, is sorry. She brought him a birthday cake, will leave, no stay, have some cake, Nicole goes to get into something less comfortable, Marlena talks to Eric. She mentions Gabi agreeing to give Stefan's heart to Julie, Sarah & Kayla in surgery, knows Eric has loved Nicole a long time, but is he sure he is over Sarah. Nicole overhears this, comes out asking if Eric has blown out the candles, etc. Marlena leaves. And of course, insecure Nicole has to question Eric, and tho Sarah is not pregnant, she knows he wanted a bunch of kids. He assures her he loves Holly so much, could not love her more if his.
Meanwhile, Xander is asking Rolf to take the envelope containing the pregnancy results and give to Eric. This is long, drawn out, pointless conversation, with Rolf asking why, Xander figuring Eric would talk Sarah out of leaving town, yada, yada. Rolf finally agrees and leaves. Xander has a fantasy, a couple of them. Sarah comes in all happy, isn't leaving town, Eric knows, but is staying with Nicole, so she has Xander to herself. Kissing galore. A couple more, one where Sarah is mad at Xander, socks him in the face.
Tony & Anna drinking champagne, happy to be together. She gives Tony a ring box, tis the engagement ring she purchased herself, gave to Roman to give to her, to make Tony jealous. She wants Tony to slip it on her finger, ask her to marry him. He cannot do that, wants to purchase a ring himself. They go for a honeymoon now, and start kissing, etc. Later, she is going out to return a few things, he bemoans not having a job/money, she says she has more than enough. Nope, he wants to be breadwinner. She leaves to the mall, he gets a call.
Now Tony goes to visit Kate, happy he doesn't have to say goodbye as he thought he might have to. They shoot the baloney back and forth, she wants out of hospital, he says it only has been one day. She berates Julie for not willing herself to come back, as Kate did (ah, Kate, you still don't know about Rolf, do you?). Kate is smirking as she figures Vic will be furious at Brady for moving Kristen in, maybe Kate will be running 2 companies together. Tony finally breaks the news that Mr. Shin called him, wants him to head up DiMera. Kate figures when Shin realizes she is fine, that will change. Tony leaves, she calls Mr. Shin, talking all about being discharged, is fine, etc. No dice. Shin sticking by Tony.
Hope is having very blurry memories of Rolf coming into the chapel when she was praying, telling her he is the answer to her prayers. John comes by, chats with her, she is tired. She tells him of sitting in chapel, swearing she heard a voice. Disconcerting, for sure. They talk of Rolf, John being derogatory, Hope claiming he has been doing a lot of good of late. John cannot believe she is defending him after he removed John's memories onto a CD, and look what he did to you. Marlena arrives, invites Hope to have supper with her & John in the square. Hope declines, lot on her mind, wants to be in hospital. Marlena tells her surgery will take hours, they have not even started. Hope agrees to join them, but reluctantly.
Anna meets up with Roman, tries to give him the ring, explaining how Tony wants to buy his own. Roman doesn't want it, but she tells him to maybe sell it or something.
She is back at the apt., Tony comes rushing in, got a job. She has just booked 2 tickets to Paris for their wedding/honeymoon, their happily ever after, but Tony is on Cloud 9. Then tells her about heading up DiMera. Anna smiles, hugs him, but is not all that happy about it.
John & Marlena at table in square, Hope follows, see Rolf, calls to him, thanks him (?) touches her neck. He takes off, she tells John & Marlena she is very tired, will go home and rest up.
Eric has assured Nicole that while he would not desert a child of his, he would never leave the woman he loves. He leaves. We see Rolf outside the door, debating.....but finally knocking. Nicole opens the door, Rolf taken aback. Hello Ms. Walker.
