I only got half the show before "breaking news." Which for the record hadn't started by the time the show should have ended.
DiMansion: JJ backtracks after a flashback of Lani's revealing Gabi's hack of Julie's pacemaker. JJ claims that Eli should think about Lani, but Lani made her choice, blah blah; JJ eventually circles around to claiming this is in thanks for Lani's preventing him from killing Kristen. Eli thanks JJ for making him realize Lani's in the past and that he wanted to propose to Gabi. JJ has an odd smile; he then starts acting coy (or high, hard to tell with this story) about how Gabi surprises him. JJ invites himself to stay and wait for Abigail and Eli asks him to be his best man; Eli gets a call and JJ lowers a bit of the boom, asking if Gabi's using Eli as revenge for Lani's killing of Stefan.
Commissioner's Office: Rafe wonders about the cigarette pack.
Square: Abe can't get the truth from Lani, whom he has called on the phone.
JJ's: Lani cuts her call with Abe short so she can talk with Kristen. Lani needs Kristen to go intervene with JJ/Gabi. Kristen is worried about JJ shooting her again and scolds Lani for involving JJ. She reveals to Lani that Stefano has visited and asked for her shares. Although Lani is interested in the Stefano intrigue, she is mostly worried about JJ's actions at the DiMansion. Kristen agrees to help.
Hospital: Kayla tells Julie that her pacemaker battery is wearing out. This is unexpected; it should have lasted 5 years.
Townhouse: Steve-aNO (disguised as Steve) and Gi-Nope decide this is their only option (outside) while Marlena and John affirm their love for one another. They enter the unlocked townhouse and give Marlena a gun; they also claim Stefano was seen in Prague. Marlena doesn't want the gun and thinks John will protect her; Steve-aNO says that's impossible because John will be with him tracking down Stefano. John refuses to leave Doc, who decides to go with them; Gi-Nope objects.
Square: Abe and Julie talk about Sister Lani. Abe is worried about Lani's well-being and understanding of Julie's wariness regarding Lani; Abe is worried about Lani's erratic activities (in & out of town without telling him, mainly); Julie feels the same about Hope, who's been avoiding the issue to avoid stress.
Pub: Rafe enters, wanting to talk to Roman about Hope; Kayla is there (as a customer). Kayla invites him to talk, Rafe considers it inappropriate for a second, but then reveals all, including the cigarette pack. Kayla has never known Hope to smoke, but relays how the cigarettes she confiscated (from a patient "a couple of months ago") went missing.
DiMansion: JJ punts and passes endlessly as they meanderingly talk about Julie and Gabi's relationship now, to be interrupted by Kristen who claims to need papers she forgot at the office signed. She escorts Gabi out and JJ moves for her phone.
