Days of Our Lives
Tuesday, May 16, 2017

Did not get the first 15 min. due to press conference. When Days came on, Sonny, Paul & Chad were giving Gabi a hard time about stowing aboard the plane. I got the impression, she ran into Chad, Sonny & Paul came along, told Chad the how of her being there. She yammered about Deimos having done so much to her family, she did not want to be left out, blah, blah.

Sonny & Paul each have contacts of some kind, Paul gets a tip as to where Deimos is holed up, goes there. Sonny gets word about some judge there, takes off. Eli, Lani & JJ are on the plane, Paul talks to Eli, mentions Gabi being there & Chad. Eli is upset. Gabi calls him later, tries to make it all light.

With Sonny & Paul gone, Chad & Gabi chat, he tells of getting the divorce notice from Abby. Gabi protests that she cannot be thinking clearly. They sit at a table, chat, he figures his marriage is over. He is in Athens on business, but does want to undermine Deimos. He & Gabi decide to go sightseeing.

Deimos is with Xander, who is worried that Deimos just might turn his back on Xander when the big rescue of Nicole goes down. So, he wants a helicopter, 20 million cash, untraceable, 2 female escorts. Deimos doesn't think he can arrange this so fast, Xander is adamant. He leaves, Deimos calls his cohorts to get everything on the list. He paces around the room, as Paul & Sonny watch thru binoculars from down on the street. Deimos mutters to himself that once he takes care of Xander, he will finally have the woman he loves.

Dario is in the park, telling Abby all about how he is about to be deported. She questions all the Hernandez children being citizens. Yep, all except Dario. Seems his mother was in Mexico, visiting her sister, when Dario was born. She was not an American citizen yet. and when she returned to the U.S., thought she filled all paperwork out correctly, but must have not done it all. Seems when Eduardo messed up with the GDR company, Feds took a look and found something amiss.

Abby cannot believe this, something should be able to be done. He mentions marrying an American citizen is a possibility, only they would have to live together, pretend to be in love, blah, blah. She figures he knows a lot of people, has loads of friends, someone would do this. He claims, yeah, her. Abby is taken aback, he blathers on about them having to live together, but she is reluctant, especially with how he has proclaimed to be in love with her. This would not be good. He insists they are friends, could make it work, but they cannot tell anyone, no friends, family, etc. She is not so sure.

Nicole & Eric are in the bedroom, he is sharpening something using the metal work on the headboard..creating a makeshift knife. Evidently they have worked on a plan to escape. They are able to leave the bedroom, no one in the living room, he closes the drapes over the French doors. She spots the guard outside the front door. Later, she is yelling for help, the guard, gun drawn, enters and Eric is unconscious on the sofa. She is claiming he passed out, must be from earlier beating, is frantic, Eric is not breathing. The guard makes her move away from Eric, comes to check, gun still drawn. Up jumps Eric, struggle, punches, down goes the guard, but gets up, blows whistle...a lot. Eric pulls him away, getting the guy caught in the door, and slamming the door on him, until the guy falls, and is shoved out. Eric turns, Nicole is gone. We see her outside a door, taking off.

P.S. Abby goes thru a series of flashbacks where Dario helped her out, and thus reminds herself of how much he has done for her, what a good friend he has been. And Dario is thinking about his conversation with Abby......and says aloud.....what the heck, it was worth a shot.

As I have noted before......Dario's father is an American citizen.....therefore, he is an American citizen himself. There are so many holes in this scenario, the mosquitoes and flies would have a field day.

The Greek tragedy is exactly that. So ill thought out, all these folks running around Greece, no natives in sight, just Salemites acting suspicious all over the place. Honestly, do you think it is normal to have a couple of guys peering upwards at a hotel room with binoculars, and no one notices??

This whole Abigail story gets more ridiculous every day. Besides the fact she is divorcing a man who professed his undying love to her because of something written in his high school yearbook!!! Now she might marry Dario who is suddenly the only Hernandez that is not a citizen. Dumb dumb dumb.

deleted unnecessary quote - no need to quote the post directly above your own post - JS

Very true, and when did the receptionist, the job Abby was hired for, suddenly have a desk in the middle of the detective room??!!!!

So who else thinks Dario is doing what may eventually become an elaborate hoax? Would he really stoop that low to "get" Abby. Yes, she has filed for divorce on her own, and is it not soooo co-incidental that Dario suddenly is on verge of being deported. but he could marry an American citizen!

Soooo, Gabi wanted to be a part of taking down Deimos. Then why is she sightseeing with Chad? Why is she not skulking around with Paul & Sonny? And exactly WHAT did she think she could do or would do to help "get" Deimos?

If they get him, and she stayed home, she could perhaps spit in his face as he was marched off the plane in handcuffs. But really....????

But I will say, I admire all these Salemites who have passports ready to go on a moment's notice. Especially Gabi, who has not been out of the country as far as I know, and who is out of prison. Is she on parole? If so, wonder if she got permission.

Chad found out the plane needs repaired. Did something happen because
Chad has the amulet? Maybe he shouldn't take it on the plane.

I kept wondering if Deimos would see Paul and Sonny if he looked out the
window because Paul is wearing white instead of black.

Poirot, good point Dario is an American citizen because of Eduardo. Is Deimos
behind the deportation?

I hope glad Nicole left when she had a chance. I hope Xander won't find
her before she gets to the plane.

OK, first off, marrying a US citizen does NOT make one a citizen anymore. I've worked with families where a natural-born citizen was married to an immigrant (for real) and they still have to go through the entire naturalisation process. Second off...nevermind. I have nothing more to say about this train wreck of a story in this nuclear wasteland of a show.

I've asked before and am asking again, just what exactly are they trying to get Deimos on? What do they plan to arrest him for?

Half of Salem seems to be traveling now, and NuJade, Abigail, and instant non-citizen Dario should join them. All three should get on a bus and head for Auntie Simone's Scorpion commune where they'd be permanently off-screen. Jade has shown that she's a perfect fit, Abigail could bore Simone to death with her explanation of why she broke up with Chad, and Dario could hide from the Immigration and Naturalization Service while introducing the dopey Scorpions to computer crime.

Over in Athens, JJ, Lani, and Eli were demonstrating typical Salem law enforcement methodology -- sit around and talk about personal issues. They could at least sample the sights. Imagine Jenny talking to JJ afterward: Jenny: "JJ, you went to Athens! What did you see?"; JJ: "The inside of an airplane."

Finally, if Xander was candid with Deimos, he'd tell him about the very rude welcome that Nicole gave her would-be rescuer, sourpuss Eric, and then ask him why he thinks Nicole would be any more welcoming to him. As things stand, if a history of Salem is ever written, Deimos is going to be recorded as one of the biggest fools in town history: a man who could attract half the local hotties by flashing his wallet wasting his time with a woman who despises him.

Heck, that was even the case 20+ years ago. A friend of mine met a lady from the Philippines (around 1995). They were introduced through a missionary from our church. He went over there and had a very extravagant wedding (looked like something from a Bollywood movie). Took him probably a year to bring her to the US, due to the red tape.

Ironically, after she was here for a few months, she left him and went back to her family. We joked and asked if he put his "mail order bride" on a credit card so he could get his money back. :rotfl:
