Halloween night
Sloan and Eric are relaxing on the couch watching a zombie movie. Eric gets a call. Someone has died. Eric tells Sloan it was Mr. Dorsey, the man he saw at the hospital. He wants to go to hospital and pay his respects. Eric and Sloan arrive at the nurses' station. The lights are flickering. Sloan wonders why no one is around? (happens all the time) Eric goes to the back. Sloan is alone when Nicole gets behind her and says boo. She's at hospital again to get another prescription.
Eric runs to them and tells them to hide. Mr. Dorsey woke up and is now a zombie. Eric says others are too. They hide in a room and barricade the door. Hands are shown over glass window. Nicole says she has a confession to make. She lied about the virus months ago to get DNA sample from Eric. There wasn't a virus then, but now there is. Sloan confesses that she switched the DNA test and Eric is the father of Nicole's baby. Eric realizes he got scratched by a zombie and he doesn't want to turn into one. He gets a syringe and puts something in it. Sloan can't give it to him. Nicole does and tells Sloan she doesn't love Eric enough.
Holly, Chanel, Johnny are watching a movie on the DiMera living room couch. Johnny wants to know what they want to watch next? Chanel doesn't want to watch any more movies. Holly says she will. Chanel leaves to work in the bakery. Holly meets Tate outside and gives him a hideous mask. She gives him a real knife. Holly didn't have time to find a fake one. Holly wants Tate to go to French doors and scare them. Then Johnny can protect her. In the foyer, Holly tells Johnny someone is at the window. Johnny goes to look.
They go into living room, but the doors are covered. Holly leaves to lock the front door. The person comes in wearing mask like Tate and cuts Holly's arm. Johnny runs after the person. When Johnny comes back, he says he chased someone and lost them. He's on hold with 911. He hears a noise upstairs and leaves. Tate comes in from the other side of the room. He tells Holly it wasn't him who cut her. The ground was muddy by the doors and he didn't want to get his shoes messy.
Tate wanders from one side of living room to the other. The masked person stabs him in the back. Johnny comes back in and the masked person stabs him. Chanel takes off the mask. Chanel tells Holly the story about when she was in college and in love with an older man. Holly asks what happened? Chanel says she's dead (the man's wife). Chanel says she killed Johnny because she knew Holly wanted him and he had feelings for her. Holly is surprised Johnny had feelings for her. Chanel says she wasn't going to let Holly have him. She tells Holly it's her turn.
Abe and Paulina are in her apartment. She changed her clothes to be more comfortable. She tells Abe it's late and he can stay. They talk about how they shouldn't try so hard. The phone rings. It's Rafe. A homicidal manic escaped from Bayview. Paulina says it's the 2nd time that's it happened. The lights go off and back on again. Abe is knocked out.
Whitley is standing there with a rolling pin. Paulina says you killed my husband. Then Abe wakes up. He remembers everything. He calls Paulina Whitley and stands next to Whitley and says she's my wife Paulina. Paulina grabs their wedding photo and shows Abe. The woman in the picture is Whitley. Paulina gets more upset and realizes there are stuffed cats everywhere. Paulina says they aren't her cats. Then Paulina clothes change to an outfit worn at Bayview. Whitley and Abe get upset. They think Paulina came to kill them. Abe calls Rafe and tells him Whitley is at the apartment.
Chad is watching a movie on couch when Stephanie comes out. He's watching Pet Cemetery. Chad turns the TV off when Stephanie asks about coming to bed. He wants to give Stephanie space and will sleep on the couch. Stephanie tells him she's been thinking and maybe they shouldn't be together. She loves him, but it's not working out. She wants to bring Abigail back to him. She tells him their parents found a diary by someone named Gideon and he brought his wife back with a spell.
There's a knock on the door. It's Kayla. She brought the book. She needs something that's Abigail's. Chad says he doesn't have anything. Stephanie gives Kayla Abby's wedding ring. She tells them she found in the back of a closet. Chad drops the ring in a cup and Kayla pours liquid on it. The cup smokes. Stephanie reads the spell using Abigail's full name. The candle goes out. Nothing happens. There's a knock on the door. Chad opens it. It's Steve. Steve found pages from the diary that were torn out.
Gideon wrote that Emily was no longer loving and gentle. She was a rotting, murderous corpse. Kayla says it's too late. They already did the ritual. They don't think it worked, but they hear wet footsteps. Steve pulls out a gun in case it's Abby. Chad pulls the wedding ring out of the cup and puts in his pocket. Chad and Steve fight over the gun. The lights go out.
When they come back on, Steve is dead. No shots fired. Stephanie says she saw Abby. Abby covered in mud and rotting. She snapped Steve's neck. Chad leaves to find Abby. Chad comes back and Kayla is on the floor dead. Steve and Kayla are holding hands. Stephanie says Abby came back. Stephanie and Chad kneel by Steve and Kayla's bodies. He can't believe Abby did this. Stephanie said she shot Abby over and over. Chad says it's horrible. Stephanie tells him she saved one bullet.
Stephanie and Chad stand up. She tells him I love you, but your obsession of Abigail did this. She tells Chad she doesn't know if Abby is dead or alive and he can wait for her in hell. Stephanie points the gun at him and shoots. Chad wakes up. He was sleeping the couch. He says it was just a nightmare.
Chanel chases Holly around the room. Holly says she thought Chanel didn't like blood. Chanel licks the knife. She says she can't enough of it after the first taste. Chanel gets closer to Holly. Holly wakes up on the couch, spilling popcorn. She looks at Chanel and Johnny. They're kissing and don't notice her. Holly says what a terrible nightmare.
Sloan kneels down by Eric and says he didn't deserve this. Nicole puts the needle in Sloan. Sloan crawls away. Nicole says as you die I want you to know I will always have Eric's baby to remember our love. Nicole holds Eric. Sloan wakes up. She's lying on Eric on the couch. Sloan wakes up Eric. He says he had the craziest dream. He doesn't remember, but he's very hungry.
Paulina tries talk to Abe, and say that she loves him and they belong together. Whitney says I guess we have to do this the hard way. She lifts the rolling pin and Paulina wakes up. Abe is on the couch looking at their wedding picture. He says she was a beautiful bride and he wished he could remember. Paulina looks at picture and says me and you.
Abe said she dozed off. Paulina says she dreamed that he had forgotten her again. She asks him who she is? Abe says you're the one and only Paulina Price. He holds her. The both say Happy Halloween to each other. Abe turns the movie back on. Camera pans to a black and white stuffed cat with eerie music.
