At the 40 minute mark, around the time everyone was badgering Deimos, the Greek cop, looking a bit winded, returned to the villa and said something about the guards and a guy getting away. I assumed that this was Xander. If the writers intend for Deimos to elude justice again, a Xander escape would suit their purposes and leave the X-man still lurking out there some where ready to wreck vengeance on Salemites.I don't remember Xander escaping. Did he? When?
Agree. Deimos's latest crime, imprisoning people at the villa, was committed in Greece. The Salem keystone kops have no jurisdiction. They also can't just drag Deimos off to the airport. He'd be held in a Greek jail and United States would then have to ask for extradition. Deimos would then get a hearing in a Greek court where he could presumably bribe everyone in sight. In fact wouldn't this be the only enforceable thing for the Salem PD to do - catch the fugitive whose crime was committed in their jurisdiction? Why is Hope cutting deals (which would be the DA's job usually, not hers) with criminals she can't even arrest? OY with this nonsense!!!
With a green card, Deimos could live and work in the U.S., but would retain his Greek citizenship. In a normal world, he would hope that Greece would assert jurisdiction over one of its own nationals who is charged with committing a crime on Greek soil. It might have made for a good scene if Deimos's Greek lawyer related the many foibles of the so-called Salem criminal justice system to a Greek judge and then claimed that his client could never be treated fairly there.Ah, yes, Deimos loudly claimed he was a Greek citizen. So, was he in the U.S. without a Green Card? CEO of a huge conglomerate..Living in the lap of luxury in the U.S. but now wants to claim his Greek citizenship. LOLOL
