Why is Kate continuing to help Gabi?

You would think she is savvy enough to figure out she is up s creek either way she turns. Chad will be extremely upset when he finds out about the Stefan stuff AND he will be extremely upset about her participation with Gabi in the attack on Abby! Either way she would lose. So why not stop now and face up to her rotten choices? Continuing is just "mean, mean, mean".

I'm tired of people giving in to blackmailers. I don't think Kate has to do this. She should call Gabi's bluff. It's not like Kate to be pushed around and manipulated this way, especially by an amateur like Gabi.

I certainly agree! It just makes no sense!!

Why, oh why, didn't Abigail just go to her grandma (is it Laura?) for help when she was threatened with being committed? Laura would have been able to confirm Abigail's sanity and we could have avoided all this dreadful stuff with Gabi.

Isn't there something about a "Salem Brain" missing...
