From the Vault: A letter from one "Days" great to another

Here's a letter from future "Days" head writer Pat Falken Smith to head writer Bill Bell from December 1969:

Holy cow, where the heck do you find these things, Jason. So, evidently, she was writing under him at this time, and eventually became headwriter. Correct?

Pat was with the show before Bill was. She was a script writer who wrote with the original head writers, Peggy Phillips & Kenneth Rosen. Pat took over more duties when Bill left to create Y&R in 1973, and became the official head writer in 1975. She returned in the early 1980's and created the Brady family and the DiMera family, so she's left a great legacy to "Days" all these decades later!
